I mainly use Cognitive Behavioural Therapy in my practice alongside ACT and compassion-informed approaches .
If you’re looking for therapy at home because leaving the house is difficult, you may be dealing with anxiety, panic, agoraphobia, intrusive thoughts, OCD, trauma or phobias. These can make daily life feel restricted and exhausting. You might want clearer days and someone with solid mental‑health experience who understands how intense this can be, without jargon or pressure. Therapy needs to be practical, accessible and based on what you can manage right now.

I have helped clients with a range of presenting difficulties such as low mood, anxiety, OCD, health anxiety, relationship struggles and many more. What you must have in therapy is the space to feel comfortable to open up and feel heard by your therapist. When people come to therapy they feel stuck and feel like they don’t know where to turn. If this is you therapy can help provide a space for empathy, and understanding while helping you to move in a better direction. In addition I provide gold standard ADHD assessments, reports and link with relevant professionals for supported treatment plans. Prices for this upon request.

Hi, I'm a HCPC-registered Clinical Psychologist, offering therapy to adults online across the UK and in St Helens, Merseyside. Many of the people I work with feel overwhelmed, emotionally stuck, or exhausted from holding everything together. Some are living with anxiety, trauma, or self-criticism. Others are navigating the emotional impact of physical health conditions, chronic symptoms, or pain. My approach is calm, compassionate, and collaborative. I aim to create a space where you feel safe to talk openly, without pressure or judgement, and where change feels possible rather than overwhelming.

While CBT is my foundation, I offer a truly integrated toolkit including EMDR, ACT, and Compassion-Focused Therapy.
The most challenging person to be kind to is yourself. If you feel like you’re constantly fighting an inner critic that tells you you’re "not enough," you aren't alone. You might feel like you’re stuck in mud—putting in huge amounts of effort but seeing no forward movement. This cycle of anxiety and self-doubt isn't a character flaw; it’s a learned pattern, and it can be unlearned. Together we can help you bridge the gap between where you are and where you want to be. Using evidence-based strategies, we won't just talk about the problems we will build a concrete toolkit to handle them.

Therapy is not one-size-fits-all, and I draw from a range of approaches, including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy ( ACT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Narrative Therapy, Compassion-Focused Therapy (CFT), systemic, and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT).
Do you feel that life has changed in ways you cannot control, leaving you stuck and unable to move forward? You may have lost a loved one, be adjusting to physical health changes, or living with chronic pain. I am a Chartered Clinical Psychologist specialising in grief and bereavement (including Prolonged Grief Disorder), adjustment to physical health conditions, and chronic pain. I can also offer tailored support if you are experiencing mild memory or attentional difficulties (such as in Mild Cognitive Impairment). I have 15 years of experience in mental health practice and research, and currently also hold a part-time NHS post.

You may be successful but your worries and tendency to go over worst case scenarios in your head are so hard to control. Perhaps your anxiety is making it difficult for you to sleep well, relax, causing problems in your relationships, or bringing on panic attacks. You may have been coping by trying to block the worries out or avoid the situations that trigger your anxiety, but this is only making it harder for you to be present in your life and relationships the way you want to be. I'm here to help and let you know that you can learn to live life in the moment and learn to trust in your coping skills again.

You will receive a safe, accepting environment, where I will listen, and support you to become more aware of how to make the right choices for yourself. I can work with self-esteem and self-image issues, and issues such as life-direction. I share the view, in modern psychology, that people thrive when they are living their life aligned with those values which hold most meaning for them. Living a meaningful, or meaning-guided life, is often at the core of many issues. Many people have never had a safe space to explore their values and assess what is ultimately meaningful to them, and I am able to offer this in our work together.

Hi, I'm Deborah. I'm an experienced psychologist and founder of Therapy Online & In Person. I like to work with people who are experiencing anxiety, sadness, self-criticism, and a loss of direction and confidence. You might have experienced something recently in your life that has knocked you. Or you might have felt this way for a long time but you're tired of keeping it inside and hiding it. It's time to let someone help. I also work with couples who are struggling to communicate, have lost trust, each feeling alone and without that precious sense of 'us'. I only work with couples in person rather than online.

Navigating a world built for neurotypical minds can be relentless. If you're neurodivergent (or wondering whether you might be), you may have spent years adapting, masking, and pushing through, often without support that truly fits. I'm a neurodivergent therapist who specialises in working with ADHD, autism, and other forms of neurodivergence. I don't offer formulaic approaches. Instead, we work collaboratively to find what actually helps you, drawing on a range of therapeutic methods tailored to how you think, feel, and process the world. I also work with a wide range of other difficulties, always meeting you as you are.

Acceptance and Commitment (ACT) Counsellors
How does acceptance and commitment therapy work?
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy encourages a person to listen to their self-talk. A person’s inner dialog can be indicative of how they treat themselves. ACT also encourages self-compassion; this can lead to a better understanding of negative thought patterns and emotional states. This understanding can then lead the individual to needed behavior change.

What are the goals of acceptance and commitment therapy?
The goal of acceptance and commitment is to expand a person’s psychological flexibility, a trait that encourages an individual to live in the present moment and to accept all their thoughts, feelings, and emotions, even ones that are difficult such as sadness and anxiety. In ACT, this acceptance is congruent with the individual’s values and beliefs.

Does acceptance and commitment therapy work for depression?
Acceptance and commitment therapy is effective for depression because it allows the individual to view their discomfort and suffering differently. Depressive feelings about relationship heartaches, for example, are a part of life. A despondent person learns to let go of their struggles and instead view their painful thoughts and feelings with compassion. This will lead the individual toward positive change.

How long are people typically in acceptance and commitment therapy?
A typical acceptance and commitment therapy session is 50 minutes long with one session per week. Treatment for common problems such as anxiety, depression, or relationship difficulties can last between eight weeks to four months. However, more severe cases may require more than one session a week and/or a longer time frame for treatment.
