Hello, I’m Dr Sonia Pace, Consultant Clinical Psychologist. I have over 12 years experience working with adults with a range of psychological and mental health difficulties. I work collaboratively with you each step of the way creating a supportive environment that enables self-discovery and growth. Therapy involves creating a safe space to develop a greater understanding of why you might be experiencing current difficulties and then using this understanding to tailor an approach that meets your individual needs.
Sometimes our thoughts and emotions can feel too much for us to deal with. We may feel vulnerable, lost, torn or stuck, and find ourselves in need of help. Let me offer you an open, safe and judgment free space, that encourages you to explore whatever's on your mind. Hi, I am Kathy, a qualified and highly experienced UKCP Accredited Counselling Psychotherapist and Clinical Supervisor, working with adolescents, adults, couples, groups and organisations. My areas of expertise include: depression, anxiety & stress, low self-esteem, relationship issues, family dynamics, addictions, trauma and PTSD, transcultural issues.
I specialise in working with adults and my approach is multi-model, flexible and person led. We will initially work to develop an understanding of what has brought you to therapy, consider the goals you want to work towards, and collaboratively develop a plan for therapy based on these. The models of therapy that can be offered are Eye Movement Desensitisation Reprogramming (EMDR), Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT), Mindfulness, Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy (CBT), and Trauma informed approaches. Often these are combined into an integrative approach that is individualised to the difficulties you want to work on.
Sometimes we experience things in our lives that we were not expecting and you may be feeling overwhelmed, stuck, and anxious or be looking for support so you can process difficult feelings. I can offer you a safe and supportive space where you can talk freely and feel heard without judgment so that you can begin to find ways to positively move forward. I provide Psychotherapy and Counselling for adults dealing with difficult thoughts and feelings because of current life challenges, past experiences, and bereavement. I work in Newcastle upon Tyne and North Tyneside.

I offer a combination of a warm and supportive therapeutic relationship alongside Cognitive Behavioural methods for increased understanding and change. My clients are often struggling with anxiety or low mood and feel lost. They are looking to understand themselves and find ways to cope with their emotions. I have 20 years experience as a therapist, specialising in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy since 2014.
I have a huge passion for helping people of all diversities and their mental wellbeing. My personal philosophy is to always act with sensitivity and integrity, be mindful of the BACP Ethical Framework, and take a non-judgemental approach with all of my clients.
Exhausted? Stressed? Not able to think straight or make decisions? You are not alone- these are often the things we notice most that prevent us feeling content with life. Finding a safe, none judgemental space to explore life events, thoughts or relationships can help to 'release the valve' and allow a little more clarity. I offer a place of equality and acceptance. Without judgement I will listen carefully to you and look at life from your perspective, then together we can explore a route forward.
it's fair to say that I have had my own personal challenges in life, grew up the youngest of 4, dragged up on a council estate, joined the Army as a means to escape, during my ten years in a front line infantry battalion I served in Bosnia, Northern Ireland and was one of the Desert Rats that liberated Iraq in 2003. Upon leaving the forces I struggled with the transition back to civilian life, lost all my friends and family (due to my behavior), became isolated, alone, suicidal, unemployed, divorced, street homeless, bankrupt and more. It's going through all these challenges that has made me into the person I am today.
I've worked as a qualified clinical psychologist within the NHS and educational settings since 2011. My area of specialism is maternal mental health, having worked extensively with individuals struggling related to their experience of pregnancy, birth trauma, or the devastation of pregnancy loss. Similarly, I have considerable experience working with women experiencing gynaecological problems, e.g. dyspareunia (painful sex), and adults with long term health conditions (e.g. diabetes, HIV, eating difficulties). I am passionate about my areas of work and the understandable distress that can often come alongside these life experiences.
When it seems like there's nowhere for you to turn; when you feel like you are heading for "rock-bottom" ; you have hit crisis point, or you feel you have lost your direction, no matter what the reason, talking to a counsellor can help you to find your way through your struggle; a way that is right for you.
I am experienced at working with a broad range of clients and psychological conditions. I have considerable experience working with trauma, anxiety disorders, depression, loss and bereavement, as well as survivors of emotional, physical and sexual abuse and neglect. I am comfortable working both short term and long term and will tailor my approach to suit each clients unique needs and time-scale. I often find clients want and need to be heard, validated and to have a trusted person to talk with in a safe, confidential and non-judgmental environment; to work through troubling thoughts, beliefs, experiences and deep suffering

Every client is different and I believe that different clients will benefit from different counselling approaches depending on their difficulties.
Whatever it is that’s bringing you to therapy, I hope I can offer some help. Life can be tough in lots of ways, and sometimes we can feel knocked off course or struggling to cope with our thoughts or emotions. Perhaps you have difficulties that you've been living with for a long time, and which never really seem to go away, or even feel like they are getting worse. If you don't know where to turn, I can offer you a space to share your problems, to talk about them and work through them with someone who will listen with warmth and compassion, support you, and help you find a way through. That’s what I’m here for.
I'm Jo, a Consultant Clinical Psychologist and CAT Practitioner. Most people have their own "I'm not good enough" story and everyone struggles with their mental health at times! Maybe you have a hard time liking yourself, getting your voice heard or feel like it's only you struggling? We have lots of messy feelings and I help people make sense of these. I like working alongside people to know and own their story and most importantly to grow the confidence to write their own ending, messy feelings and all.
