Some feelings and problems are hard to understand or to bear. Sometimes they are overwhelming in their intensity or sometimes we just feel stuck, as if things will never change. They may arise from a sudden personal crisis or from a relationship or from ongoing anxiety or depression. They can belong to the present but can also be rooted in painful experiences from the past. Psychotherapy offers a way to think about what is happening in the present, reflect on patterns and links from the past and explore how change can happen.

I believe in establishing a trustworthy, supportive, empathic and non-judgemental therapeutic relationship, encouraging clients to freely discuss their concerns and navigate the challenges they face.
Life can be complicated and present challenges which may feel too difficult to navigate alone. Sometimes, we could all do with some support and I hope that I am able to help you if you are feeling like this. As your therapist, I will not give you advice or tell you what to do. I am here to facilitate the space and together we will explore your inner thoughts and emotions, so that you feel empowered to change was isn’t working for you. Exploration in counselling can be incredibly powerful and it can also be very challenging. I am here to listen, we will work at your own pace and I will support you every step of the way.

Sometimes life can be a struggle and leave us feeling anxious and depressed. You might be going through something specific, such as a bereavement or relationship difficulties. You may have unresolved issues from your past. Or you may be feeling overwhelmed by the sources of stress in your life and unsure of how to move forward. Therapy can help with all of this.

I can help with many issues, including anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, identity, sexuality and bereavement and loss.
Do you sometimes feel like you don't fit in? Do you feel that relationships and events from your past are holding you back? Is something that happened to you recently preying on your mind and making you anxious or depressed? Is your work consuming you, leaving little time to appreciate and enjoy other areas of your life? These are just some of the things that can make dealing with your life seem too much. You can then feel powerless and unable to see a way forward. Exploring these and other issues in a safe and neutral space can help to find a way through. We can also look at strategies and ways to cope on a day to day basis.

My experience includes working in depth with clients who have experienced anxiety, depression, bereavement, childhood trauma, child loss relationship difficulties and that feeling of not being good enough.
It may be that you have something specific you want to talk about, you may want to calm the negative thoughts that are going around your head or you may be looking to find help for someone you care about. Perhaps when you just want someone who will listen to you, a space to off-load where there is no worry about saying the wrong thing, the fear of being judged or where feeling like you are being an imposition. I am here to help you when you are ready to take the next step.

I specialise in codependency, all addictions, relationship issues, adult child of addict issues, dealing with estrangement from family members and developmental trauma.
Feeling the fallout of a loved one’s addiction? Addiction affects the whole family. It affects how you communicate, how you behave and how you feel. Trust is often broken - so knowing who to reach out to can feel risky. Turning to family and friends only leave you feeling more isolated and misunderstood. Maybe you have tried self help groups but they haven’t quite ‘hit the mark’. Turning to the person you love with an addiction only leaves you feeling frustrated and mistrusting. But… Relax. Here, you don’t have to do it alone. Download my free guide for those dealing with a loved one's addiction here on my website.

I work with individuals and couples, helping them find ways to live a more fulfilled and satisfying life. Over time, we develop ways of behaving, thinking and feeling that work well enough to get by, but sometimes get ‘stuck’; I’m trained and experienced in finding and understanding those patterns and, without judgement, getting to the heart of how to put things right. I’ve worked in private practice, charities and the NHS with a range of individual issues, particularly depression, anxiety, post-traumatic stress and historical trauma; couples work includes relationship breakdown, affairs, communication and conflict challenges.

As we build our relationship we will work together to help you process difficult feelings, recognise patterns of behaviour that may be unhelpful and in the process help you to know yourself better.
Are you experiencing difficult feelings that you are struggling to cope with? I can help you to explore these feelings at your own pace in a warm environment where you feel comfortable. I will do this by offering you a safe and confidential relationship where we can explore whatever is troubling you. I strongly believe that for therapy to be successful it is essential that we build a trusting relationship and that you feel comfortable working with me.

I enjoy working with people from all walks of life and have experience working with gender, sex and relationship diverse clients where I adopt an affirmative approach.
I am an experienced psychoanalytic psychotherapist in Twickenham and can support you in exploring the root causes for your difficulties in living. We will talk about early significant relationships in your life and models of thinking, feeling and behaving you may have internalised. In a collaborative process, we try to bring these patterns into awareness. By experimenting with new ways of feeling, thinking and behaving, you may experience a new sense of freedom and new neural pathways are formed.

I previously worked in the NHS before establishing my private practice and have experience working with clients relating to anxiety, bereavement, bullying, depression, domestic abuse, health related issues, low confidence/self-esteem, relationship difficulties, trauma and work related issues.
I take the view that there is no single approach that can successfully cater to every client’s needs and I will therefore work with you to provide a bespoke individual therapy plan. I have no expectations as to how your therapy should be, and we can use a variety of techniques to help you make sense of how current concerns could perhaps be related to earlier or present life experiences.

On the surface, you project complete control and perfection. But below the surface, you are paddling fiercely to stay afloat. Are you a high- achiever tired of this race to relentlessly prove that you are worthy of success, validation, love, respect, accolades, etc? Have imposter syndrome, “what’s next” syndrome, inner loneliness, powerlessness, anxiety, depression, self-doubt, guilt, insecurity, relationship difficulties, or unresolved grief and loss become unbearable? Are you ready to take back control of your decision-making, life choices and relationships?

While need for human connection appears to be innate, the ability to form healthy, loving relationships is learned. Some evidence suggests that the ability to form a stable relationship starts to form in infancy, in a child's earliest experiences with a caregiver who reliably meets the infant's needs for food, care, warmth, protection, stimulation, and social contact. Such relationships are not destiny, but they are theorized to establish deeply ingrained patterns of relating to others. The end of a relationship, however, is often a source of great psychological anguish.
