Life can sometimes feel overwhelming…You may be struggling with anxiety, depression, past trauma, difficult relationships, low self-esteem, or simply feeling lost and disconnected from yourself. Perhaps you've spent so long surviving that you've forgotten what it feels like to truly live. My aim is to provide a safe, compassionate, and non-judgemental space where you can show up exactly as you are. A space where you don't have to wear a mask, hide your emotions, or carry everything on your own. Whatever season of life you find yourself in, you are welcome here.

If you’re investigating psychotherapists right now, it’s likely something in your life isn’t working. It may be that you’re struggling with feelings of depression, anxiety or low self-esteem. Perhaps you’re having difficulties in your relationships, or your work is not fulfilling you. You might be carrying painful memories from the past that you’re unable to let go of and these experiences are now preventing you from leading the life you wish for yourself. Perhaps your coping mechanisms are not working or have become destructive, or maybe you feel there is something more to life, but you don't know what that something is.

I blend person-centred counselling with somatic techniques which support people to reduce physical and psychological symptoms of anxiety.
Availability update: I have limited slots available on Mondays and Wednesdays at my standard fee rate of £75. I offer an initial phone consultation for £20. Do you ever feel like life shouldn't be this hard? Perhaps you look like you're coping on the outside, but underneath you're exhausted, overwhelmed and wondering why everyone else seems to manage more easily. Many of my clients are intelligent, capable people who have spent years blaming themselves for struggling. I specialise in supporting ADHD and autistic adults, including those who are late-diagnosed or exploring.

You are here because something in your life does not feel how you want it to or maybe how it used to. There is hope in you that you can feel differently or work out what it is you are looking for, or maybe find yourself again. Maybe you just need somewhere to talk confidentially and to feel understood.

As well as using art-making to bring insight, the arts are also used to support somatic health using the innate ways that art-making regulates the body.
My name is Ali — I’m a multidisciplinary artist and Integrative Arts Psychotherapist. I work individually with pre-teens, teenagers, and adults who, for whatever reason—diagnosed or not—are struggling to make it through the day. Whether you are a rational thinker who's intellectualizing no longer works or an artist creatively blocked, I draw upon my experience as an artist and psychotherapist to help you nurture the ability to play, create, and discover the choice-making child within you; a child unburdened by the story of your experiences and one who is able to turn pain into beauty.

Hi, I’m Ruth! I experience many clients saying that they don’t believe that their problems are bad enough - there must be others in need who are suffering more, or that it is indulgent to go for counselling. Maybe people around them have questioned if they really need to get help? If you are finding it hard to manage for whatever reason, remember that you deserve to be heard and that your experiences, memories and feelings are real for you. Maybe someone around you is suggesting that you should seek some help and you aren’t sure. Ultimately it is your choice. When any type of mental health or emotional concern affects daily

I am an accredited psychotherapist and qualified mindfulness teacher. I practice Core Process Psychotherapy (CPP), a mindfulness based, transpersonal approach to therapy that is firmly rooted in the belief that at the ‘core’ of each of us lies the potential to connect more deeply with our inherent health and wisdom; in body, mind and spirit. If you decide to work with me you will be entering into a healing relationship with someone who is trained to hold and come alongside whatever is alive and going on for you with kindness, presence, insight and compassion.

I work with people who find that the appearance they present to the world contrasts starkly with how they feel inside. That tension reaches a point where they know they need help. Whether you are feeling overwhelmed, misunderstood, sad, or simply out of sync, the promise of every therapeutic encounter is hope. Working together in a confidential relationship, we can explore the feelings and experiences that are preventing you from moving forward. You can begin the journey of meaningful change.

Somatic Counsellors
How does somatic therapy work?
Somatic therapy is a form of treatment that focuses on how the body and mind are interconnected. In this approach, physical symptoms are addressed because they may in fact signal emotional distress. Somatic therapists combine mindfulness, talk therapy, breathwork, yoga, dance, and physical manipulations of the body to help patients become more attuned to what their body is telling them.

Is EMDR a somatic therapy?
EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is a form of somatic therapy, as it incorporates mental and physical principles. EMDR involves remembering a traumatic experience while allowing one’s eyes to track a side-to-side visual stimulus from a therapist. This lateral eye movement is believed to diminish the painful power of the memory so that it can be discussed with a therapist.

Is somatic therapy evidence-based?
Somatic therapy has been researched and studied, and some forms of somatic therapy are found to be effective in treating a wide range of conditions. Because somatic therapy encompasses many techniques, some, such as EMDR and meditation, have been studied more than others.

What is somatic trauma therapy?
Somatic trauma therapy is based on the idea that when people experience trauma, they can become stuck in the “freeze” part of a “fight, flight, or freeze” response. In this state, trauma can manifest itself both mentally and physically—through tension in the muscles, anxiety, and stress. Popular forms of somatic trauma therapy include EMDR, sensorimotor therapy, and somatic experiencing.
