I am an experienced, qualified counsellor and psychotherapist working in Wantage, Oxfordshire. I am a member of the BACP and have worked for a number of years with both charitable organisations as well as private practice. I believe we are all individuals and work through problems differently and so I tailor the therapy to work with the client and respect that individuality. I offer a safe and confidential environment in which we can explore the basis of any problems or anxieties which may be getting in the way of living a happy and fulfilling life.

I work with both individuals and couples, supporting people through a wide range of challenges — including anxiety, low self-esteem, relationship difficulties, trauma, and self-defeating patterns.
I’m an integrative therapist, which means I draw from several therapeutic approaches — including relational, psychodynamic, and body-based work — to suit your unique needs. I’m especially interested in the mind-body connection, and I take a holistic view of mental health that respects your emotional, physical and neurobiological experiences.

Are you looking for a therapist who doesn’t feel like a “typical” therapist—someone who really understands what you’re going through? I’m warm, flexible, and non-judgmental, offering a safe, compassionate space for young people and adults. I tailor my approach to each person’s developmental stage and life experience. My work is interactive and person-centred, gently guiding and creative. I integrate arts and games with CBT, adapting sessions to each client’s needs. I help teens and adults explore behaviours and motivations, gently shift perspectives, and feel truly understood at their level.

My ideal clients are thoughtful, educated women carrying significant responsibility in work or family life. Many come from Asian or Middle Eastern backgrounds where achievement and composure are deeply valued. Outwardly steady, inwardly they may feel anxious, self-critical, or torn between cultural expectation and personal identity. They seek clarity, healthier boundaries, and a more compassionate relationship with themselves.

As a qualified integrative counsellor, I work with individuals and couples, supporting people at their own pace through a range of issues including anxiety, depression, grief, relationship and family problems, couples counselling, career stress, and long-term health conditions.
Having worked for many years as a community pharmacist, I’ve seen how often mental health needs are overlooked—especially when cultural or religious backgrounds aren’t fully understood or respected. These experiences led me to train as a counsellor, so I could offer more supportive, inclusive care to those facing emotional challenges.

Relationship therapy offers a supportive, non-judgemental space where partners can explore their thoughts, feelings, and relationship patterns together.
Individual therapy offers a place of honesty for the battles in our heads, from medical diagnoses and past trauma it may include, questions of sexuality, gender expression, and everyday negative thinking. As life changes, so can how we feel about ourselves, others, and what we want. At times we may feel alone, whatever our relationship status. Ruptures can affect trust, communication, emotional safety and leave us hurt &/or uncertain. Therapy provides space to reflect, reconnect, and find meaning in uncertain times. It can reduce anxiety, deepen our understanding, and support harmony between inner needs and the demands we face.

Marriage Counselling
How does marriage counseling work?
Marriage counseling works by teaching couples concrete skills to communicate with one another and solve disagreements in healthy ways. A trained mental health professional works with both members of a couple to explore difficulties the couple may be having and helps them develop skills to address these matters. Couples who don’t have any difficulties but want to prepare for marriage may develop skills for the future.

How long does marriage counseling typically last?
Marriage counseling is a short-term form of therapy; the process may last between four and eight sessions. Other forms of relationship guidance from mental health professionals, such as couples therapy, are longer lasting, may focus on the past rather than just the present, and are tailored to the individual couple and their emotions, history, and patterns in the relationship. Couples therapy often lasts for 12 weeks or longer.

Is marriage counseling effective?
Marriage counseling helps many couples develop relationship skills that may not have been acquired or tested in a relationship; partners may be better able to communicate and address conflict following counseling. However, there are many different forms of marriage counseling, and this form of counseling does not have as strong an evidence base as other modalities such as couples therapy.

Is marriage counseling effective if only one partner wants to go?
Yes, marriage counseling can still be effective if one partner convinces the other to engage in the process. Of course, whether counseling is effective depends on the couple’s commitment to work on their relationship; however, the short-term, skills-based nature of marriage counseling makes it a relatively easy “ask” of a partner, and the hesitant individual may see its value once counseling begins.
