Depression , anxiety & anger.
Hi. At times we are challenged in life and we may need help to work through the issues that can affect us. Whatever we are experiencing, it can impact on our whole life greatly. At times admitting we need help can be a long and hard journey. Just getting to this point of looking for a therapist means you’ve addressed so much already and that you wish to take the next step. It's finding the right therapist for you, just like any other relationship is how you connect that enables you to feel safe and be open so you can work through your issues. So take your time to find the right one as that relationship can help you so much.

Do you feel different than other people, like nobody seems to understand you? Do you often feel like an outsider? Perhaps you have trouble standing up for yourself or speaking your truth. Do you tend to cater to other people's needs and don’t get what you need? Do people sometimes tell you that you're a loving and giving person, but you feel flawed and unlovable? Do you feel uncomfortable in social situations, fearing that people will reject you if you stand out? Do you feel depressed ? Do you often feel anxious? Perhaps you often don’t know what you need or want. Are you very hard on yourself and have lots of self-critical thoughts?

Entering into counselling can feel like a big step, and understandably, you may be concerned about what the process involves. Simply put, counselling allows you to explore your thoughts and feelings in a safe, non-judgmental space, giving you the opportunity to see the issues that are bothering you more clearly and find ways to make the intolerable tolerable. If you have a history of trauma, feel overwhelmed or anxious, struggle with depression , your interpersonal relationships, or perhaps feel that your life is at a crossroads and you don't know where to turn next, counselling can help.

My experience, knowledge and training have given me the ability to support clients on a wide range of issues including, abuse and depression .
It starts with a hello...but I know that starting the conversation can be difficult at times. Life brings its share of challenges but no one needs to suffer in isolation. I am here to walk this journey with you, so you can become a better version of yourself. I am a firm believer that not everyone experiences even the same issue the same way. Therefore, being flexible in dealing with the differing needs of clients, is a necessary skill I have honed over the years.

Depression Counsellors
Depressive disorders are characterized by persistent feelings of sadness and worthlessness and a lack of desire to engage in formerly pleasurable activities. Depression is not a passing blue mood, which almost everyone experiences from time to time, but a complex mind/body illness that interferes with everyday functioning. It not only darkens one's outlook, it is commonly marked by sleep problems and changes in energy levels and appetite. It alters the structure and function of nerve cells so that it disrupts the way the brain processes information and interprets experience.

Despite feelings of hopelessness and worthlessness, depression is a treatable condition. It can be treated with psychotherapy. As with many illnesses, the earlier treatment begins, the more effective it can be and the greater the likelihood that recurrence can be prevented.

Psychotherapy addresses the thinking patterns that precipitate depression, and studies show that it prevents recurrence. Drug therapy is often helpful in relieving symptoms, such as severe anxiety, so that people can engage in meaningful psychotherapy.
