As an AuDHD therapist and someone who is proudly a member of the LGBTQ+ community, my practice supports anyone who feels they are different and do not fit, whatever their identity and how they choose to label themselves. Having extensively worked in community and crisis mental health settings, my work is ideal for those who have suffered trauma, with specialism's in areas such as sexual violence, domestic abuse and other trauma related disorders. My practice aims to create a safe and holding space, where we can use emotional exploration and creative techniques to explore what has happened to you and we can work towards healing this.

ONLINE: Therapy for those who feel stuck, overwhelmed or misunderstood I am a Chartered and Registered Psychologist with over 20 years’ experience. I work with individuals who may appear strong on the outside but internally carry stress, shame or a sense of feeling “stuck.” You may have coped alone for a long time, or felt misunderstood in past therapy. I offer a calm, safe space to explore complex feelings and patterns — especially for those who find it hard to trust or fear judgement, and who want to understand themselves more deeply, not just ‘cope’. Therapy here is not about perfection — it’s about honest transformation.

Hi. At times we are challenged in life and we may need help to work through the issues that can affect us. Whatever we are experiencing, it can impact on our whole life greatly. At times admitting we need help can be a long and hard journey and just getting to this point of looking for a therapist means you’ve addressed so much already and that you wish to take the next step. It's finding the right therapist for you, just like any other relationship is how you connect that enables you to feel safe and be open so you can work through your issues. So take your time to find the right one as that relationship can help you so much.

I am an integrative counsellor; psychotherapist, clinical supervisor and menopause specialist coach. My therapeutic practice is based largely on the relational approach, this means I place great emphasis on the relationship between you and I as it is our relationship which becomes the vehicle for your therapeutic journey. Each person is unique and I will draw on modalities that I feel will most suit you and the issues that you present to me. During our sessions I would like you to have as much autonomy as possible but I shall also give direction should you need it.

Most clients contact us with surface negative symptoms or challenges. Every client is totally unique, therefore our truly one-off, made-to-measure approach is needed and always provided. Most clients help us to slowly identify the real current trigger(s), creating the negative presenting symptoms or challenges. Finally, our last step in helping you gain a positive, confident and happier future, is to discover your deepest root causes, which created the very first trigger(s). To put it simply, our driving force from day one is to help you quickly ensure you gain much improved: thinking, feeling and behaviour.

If you are experiencing anger, anxiety, panic attacks, nightmares, flashbacks, hypervigilance, emotional exhaustion, or a sense of self-doubt, you are not alone. Trauma — including narcissistic emotional abuse — can leave you feeling stuck in survival mode, as though you are existing rather than truly living. Therapy can help you find your way back to yourself. I am a UK-based psychotherapist specialising in trauma and narcissistic abuse. I work with individuals who are in, or who have already left, abusive relationships and want to break trauma bonds, rebuild self-worth, and heal the impact of long-term emotional harm.

Hi, I'm Chris. I offer psychotherapy and psychotherapeutic counselling in Leeds. I see therapy as the co-creation of a warm, authentic relationship, in which we create the conditions to shine a light onto the wounded or neglected parts of the self. I offer open ended sessions, which allows our work together to unfold naturally, leading us into the places where we can explore the roots of your emotional development and relational patterns. This is a process that encourages healing and growth, helping you to becoming more in tune and at ease with who you are as a unique person.

Ok! Is it time to do something about how you have been feeling? It could be that you have been struggling with your negative thoughts, work stress, health challenges, difficulties in your relationships, increased anxiety, low mood, or all of the above and then some. That is the first step, recognising that you can do something different right now to change the way you feel. You may or may not have sought support in the past but that was then, and this is now. It is never too late to put yourself first and prioritise what you need.

I am an Integrative Counsellor, this means that I can alter my way of working to better suit my client's personal needs. Working this way means that I can bring different skills and theories into session that I feel my client may benefit from rather sticking to just one counselling theory. I believe that a counselling journey needs to as unique as the person embarking on it. The aim of my counselling service is to help people work towards a brighter future, one step at a time. When working on your mental health, people think of this long scary process, what I aim to do is break this journey down into steps, keeping you in control.

What therapy types help with codependency problems?
Both couples and family therapy and cognitive and behavioral therapy (CBT) can help with the relationship difficulties referred to as codependency. Such problems typically include inappropriate feelings of responsibility for a loved one’s destructive behavior, irrational patterns of thinking about such behavior, and family interaction patterns in which the needs of one troubled member override the needs of others in a household.

What happens in therapy for codependency?
Spouses and family members learn and practice how to interact and support each other in a healthy way without sacrificing their own needs or well-being. They learn the limits of their responsibility for their loved ones and correct faulty patterns of thinking and feeling that underlie codependent behavior. Individuals may be encouraged to nurture an array of social relationships and to cultivate their own talents and interests so that they develop a healthy sense of self outside the family.

How does therapy help a person or couple overcome codependency?
Therapy helps people establish healthy ways of being in a relationship. Spouses and family members learn how to nurture and support one another without sacrificing their own needs or allowing the needs of one person to dominate the dynamic. Individuals learn how to say no and set boundaries, and how to maintain their own identity and self-esteem. Therapy helps people understand that they are not responsible for the feelings and actions of others. It also helps individuals deal with the turbulence that can come from living with a person suffering from such conditions as substance abuse and mental illness.

What is the goal of therapy for codependency?
One goal of therapy for codependency is to alleviate feelings of responsibility for and correct irrational patterns of thinking about loved ones whose behavioral problems override the needs of others in a household. Therapy helps people establish healthy boundaries of behavior and speak up for their own needs in a relationship. In addition, people learn how to maintain a healthy relationship, one in which both parties give and receive equally and are able to retain their own identity.
