I support people struggling with compulsive sexual behaviour—often known as sex or porn addiction. You might feel guilt or shame about porn use, find it hard to stop despite wanting to, or notice it causing problems in your life. My approach is sex-positive and nonjudgmental, focused on helping you reduce shame and build a relationship with your sexuality and sexual activity that you are more comfortable with. I also work with those experiencing shame about themselves, whether related to sex or other issues in life.

You might be feeling overwhelmed by anxiety, weighed down by low mood, or stuck in patterns of overthinking. Relationships may feel difficult, or you might notice how past experiences or trauma are still affecting how you feel about yourself and others. It can leave you feeling stuck, disconnected, or unsure what to do next. If any of this feels familiar, you’re not alone. I’m a registered Clinical Psychologist with around 10 years’ experience working in both NHS and private settings. I work with people who are struggling with anxiety, low mood, relationship difficulties, and the impact of trauma.

Many people carry more than they show, feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or weighed down by anxiety, low mood, or past experiences. They want a safe, non-judgemental space to speak freely and understand themselves better. They’re seeking clarity, confidence, healthier boundaries, and more ease in daily life. Most of all, they want to feel like themselves again, and they’re reaching out because they know they don’t have to do it alone.

If you are going through a life change, struggling with relationships, or questioning your identity, I offer a supportive space, free of judgement, to explore your experiences and next steps. I believe there’s no "one size fits all" way of doing therapy, so I take an integrative approach to tailor our sessions to you. This could mean person-centered counselling where you bring in an issue each week, coaching strategies to develop coping skills, or creative methods to explore confusing feelings. I aim to be flexible to best support your personal growth, and therapy goals.

Feeling overwhelmed, stuck in your thoughts, or finding it hard to switch off? I work with adults experiencing anxiety, overwhelm or cycles of worry that can feel hard to break. Life changes, ongoing pressure, or past experiences can leave people feeling drained, unsettled or unsure how to move forward. This might show up as difficulty relaxing, feeling on edge, or struggling to feel present day to day. Many appear to cope on the outside, managing responsibilities and caring for others, while feeling stretched and exhausted internally. I also have a particular interest in the challenges around pregnancy, postal and early patenthood.

Hi there, my names Dr Dane Duncan, I am an animal lover, Northerner, book-worm, rock climber... and Clinical Psychologist! I it can be hard finding a therapist who you can click with. My work follows a Narrative Therapy approach, drawing elements of Compassion-Focused Therapy, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy when helpful. I am also trained in 3 Trauma therapies (EMDR, NET & Tree of Life). For Relationships I blend System Theory with EFT/NVC/The Gottmans Approach with a twist of Queer Theory. There’s no single map for being human, I take a ‘many paths up the mountain’ approach, adapting the route to suit you.

Every day, overwhelm, burnout, and self-sabotage ruin the lives of men. One bad day or poor decision can threaten your health, relationships, and work - or destroy your reputation, peace, and sanity. My job is to make this as easy as possible, and help prevent you from ever becoming a statistic. Having delivered over 7000 consultations for a broad range of challenges, I offer a pragmatic and performance-focused approach for those willing to do the work.

Infidelity Counsellors
How does therapy for infidelity work?
A skilled infidelity therapist will provide a safe space for clients to communicate their feelings and concerns. The goal is to be completely honest about what led to the cheating and how it has affected the entire family to prevent it from recurring in the future. The therapist will help the clients work on rebuilding mutual trust and respect and developing better communication and conflict-resolution skills. If the goal is to remain a couple, clients will learn the “danger signs” for their specific relationship, and they will make a renewed commitment to be faithful.

How long does therapy for infidelity take?
Recovery from infidelity can take time, and it can vary from person to person. Generally, a therapist will want to see the clients at least once a week for around six months. Then the sessions can be arranged as needed, depending on the clients’ individual needs. While therapy may end or shift to an as-needed basis, it can take up to two years or more for some clients to fully recover from infidelity.

How does therapy help the partner who was cheated on?
When a client discovers their partner’s infidelity, their trust in the relationship and in the life they had together may be shattered. They often experience mental health symptoms, such as anxiety, depression, grief, and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). They don’t always want to stay in the relationship; they may feel ambivalent or may even want to leave. Therapy gives these clients a safe and healthy way to communicate all of their complicated emotions and concerns.

How does therapy help the partner who committed infidelity?
Infidelity often occurs when one or both partners’ emotional needs are not being met in the relationship. Therapy can help this client understand why they cheated and figure out how to address those unmet needs without resorting to infidelity in the future. This can lessen (but not entirely eliminate) the risk of repeated infidelity. Clients who cheat may also feel intense guilt about deceiving their partners, a sentiment that they can work through in therapy.
