My professional journey spans over two decades. I've dedicated over 20 years to the field of education, where I have played a crucial role in supporting children's mental health to foster resilience. This experience includes two years as a school counsellor and mental health lead, providing students with the guidance and support they need to overcome their challenges. I've also spent five years as a divorce coach, assisting couples and individuals as they navigate the often difficult process of separation and divorce.

I provide face to face counselling and online evening video and phone counselling via a variety of platforms.
I am a Humanistic and Integrative counsellor sometimes called a psychotherapist. The humanistic bit means you come first, you are a whole person, made up of many parts and there is no one like you. You are unique and valuable. I work relationally, experiencing whatever feelings, sensations, memories, thoughts and beliefs emerge for you.

I offer therapy sessions online and in person, with flexible daytime and evening appointments to suit your schedule.
Do you often feel worn out from always putting others first? You may struggle with people-pleasing, feeling overly responsible for others’ feelings or needs, or staying in relationships that leave you drained and off-balance. You might find it hard to say no, set boundaries, or assert your needs, and feel guilty when you finally do. Over time, this can become a pattern that feels impossible to break, keeping you stuck in fear of confrontation, rejection, or disappointing those around you. You want to feel confident in yourself, express your needs without guilt, and build fulfilling, balanced relationships.

In-person in Tuudae.
Life can become too much sometimes. Maybe you’ve tried to carry on as normal, pushing things down or telling yourself “others have it worse.” But the truth is, if something is hurting you, it matters. I work with people who want to understand themselves better, especially how their early life or relationships have shaped how they show up in the world today. Perhaps you’ve reached a point where you’re asking, “Why do I feel like this?” or “Why does it keep happening?”—and you’re ready to find out.

Finding a therapist who you feel you can trust and open up to may feel daunting. My practice focuses on offering you a confidential, safe and non-judgmental space where you can explore your thoughts and feelings at your own pace and in a way that allows you to process what is going on for you. What a therapy session will look like is not prescriptive and will depend on what you bring. Understanding your unique experience of the world will be the starting point on which to build a relationship together, where we can develop understanding, awareness and insight into whatever difficulties you are experiencing.

Sessions held face to face and online via a secure video platform.
When anxiety and neurodivergence meet adolescence, families can feel lost. Perhaps your once-confident child is now overwhelmed by school, friendships or everyday expectations. Maybe anxiety has taken hold, routines have become rigid, or you feel like you are constantly walking on eggshells at home. Many of the families I work with are supporting teenagers who are autistic, ADHD, or exploring whether neurodivergence may be part of the picture. Often anxiety sits alongside this, and what can look like avoidance, shutdown, or refusal is actually a young person whose nervous system has become overwhelmed.

Drop me an email if you’re ready, or feel free to check out my website or Instagram if you need a bit of time to think things through I am currently accepting new clients for both online and face to face appointments in Newcastle under Lyme
I work with adults who struggle with low self-esteem and social anxiety; those who appear confident or capable on the outside but feel constantly self-critical, on edge in social situations, or worried about being judged. You might replay conversations, avoid certain situations, or feel like you’re ‘not quite good enough’ even when others reassure you. I also have an interest in women’s health and recognise how often women feel dismissed or unheard when it comes to reproductive/hormonal health.

With over 10+ years supporting adults, including 5 years in a trauma-specialised setting, I have seen how often trauma doesn't live in the past. It lives in your relationships, your body and your sleep. Alongside trauma & attachment, I work with adults carrying what's harder to name, shame, self-doubt, a sense of never quite belonging, not knowing who you are outside of what others need from you, or the weight of relationships that have always felt complicated. Many people I work with don't arrive describing themselves as having been through trauma. Sometimes it's one clear event. Sometimes it's an accumulation of experiences.

FAQ - About In Person Therapy
What are the benefits of in-person therapy?
In-person therapy offers several benefits that some people find highly valuable for their mental health treatment. Being present in the same room as your therapist can create a stronger sense of connection and allow for more nuanced communication through body language. Some people may also find it easier to focus in therapy when they are in a dedicated space and away from potential distractions related to home or work; attending an in-person session provides a clear boundary between therapy time and the rest of your life. For certain therapeutic approaches, such as Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR), exposure therapy, or somatic therapy, being in person may be particularly important, as these therapies benefit from the therapist being able to observe and respond to a client’s physical cues effectively. Additionally, some individuals simply feel more comfortable discussing sensitive or painful topics when they are face-to-face with their therapist rather than on a screen.

When should I choose in-person therapy over online therapy?
In-person therapy may be a better choice when you need a structured therapeutic environment separate from your daily life, when you find it difficult to focus or feel comfortable in an online setting, or when privacy at home is a concern. It may also be more appropriate if you are dealing with severe mental health symptoms that require close monitoring or if your therapy involves approaches that rely heavily on observing physical cues. On the other hand, if convenience, scheduling flexibility, or access to specialists outside your immediate area are priorities, online therapy may be a better fit. Many therapists offer both options, so you can also discuss with a provider which format might work best for your specific situation.

How do I find an in-person therapist?
You can use Psychology Today's therapist directory to find an in-person therapist in your area. You can search by location, insurance accepted, specialty areas, therapeutic approaches, and other criteria to narrow down providers who meet your needs. Each therapist profile includes information about their credentials, areas of expertise, and whether they offer in-person sessions. Once you have identified potential therapists, you can contact them directly through the directory to schedule an initial consultation and determine whether they are a good fit before committing to ongoing treatment. When reaching out, it can be helpful to confirm their availability for in-person appointments, their office location, and whether they accept your insurance.
