I offer in person and remote therapy on a weekly or fortnightly basis to suit your needs.
I have experience working with clients with a wide variety of issues, such as anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, bereavement, self-harm, relationship issues, domestic abuse, weight loss, chronic pain, and PTSD. Some clients have a good understanding of their issues and what they want to achieve, whereas others are not so sure and want help to find these things out. Whilst some issues are fairly clear cut, others can be more complex and have been present for a long time. Regardless of this, all of my clients have wanted to make changes that will improve their situation and help them to enjoy life.

We sometimes struggle and feel unable to cope. Difficult feelings such as unhappiness, loss, anxiety, anger, shame, guilt and low self-esteem can impact heavily on our well-being. Sometimes, we just feel stuck — our life is not how we want it to be. It can be daunting to ask for help but counselling provides the opportunity to work through such feelings without judgement or criticism to help guide you through overwhelming issues. It can be key to helping you get your life back on track, as well as enabling you to develop the tools to deal more effectively with future challenges and to make more insightful decisions.

Life can be challenging, and sometimes we keep pushing forward until we reach a point where we simply can’t anymore. When that happens, it can show up in our minds, our bodies, and our sense of who we are. You might feel as though you’re living on autopilot; disconnected, emotionally overwhelmed, or unsure of your direction. Perhaps you’re asking yourself, “Why can’t anyone see that I’m struggling?” Maybe you long to be understood, yet part of you wants to retreat from the world. Or perhaps past experiences or trauma have shaped your story in ways that still feel hard to untangle.

Hi, I'm Catherine and I am a BACP registered Person Centred counsellor. At times we can feel overwhelmed by life - past experiences, difficulties in the present and fears about the future. It can help us explore our thoughts surrounding a particular issue, even when that might be challenging, and increase our self-confidence and self-esteem as we gain a deeper understanding of ourselves. By talking through things we all have the power to change our thinking and thrive as a result.

Therapy is offered in-person or virtually and as the expert on you, you have full control over what we work on in therapy and how this is delivered.
As much as it can be wonderful, life can really difficult at times and this can leave us struggling with unwanted thoughts, feelings, and memories. These can easily lead to us getting stuck in a cycle of unhelpful and at times harmful patterns of behaviour that affect ourselves as well as other people. Sometimes we continue in these patterns even when we know they are not helping which can lead to more stress, frustration, and self-criticism. If this sounds like you, rest assured there is nothing wrong with you, you are just human and like all of us, are doing your best to manage life's challenges.

I embrace and believe as a Humanistic counsellor that all people have inherent worth and deserve respect and sensitivity. I hold faith that over time, we all have an innate tendency to move forward realizing our potential for growth, understanding and acceptance. I believe that we are all organically creative and highly individual and we all have the right to experience emotional challenges in our own way and in our own time-eventually resulting in psychological wellness and/or acceptance and my hope - inner peace.

I offer sessions in person in a lovely spa salon setting in addition to working with clients online during weekdays and evenings.
Experiencing persistent anxiety, stress, or overwhelm — maybe related to work, relationships, or life changes. You may feel like your usual coping strategies aren’t working anymore (e.g., overthinking, avoidance, distraction).
You may also struggle with low self-confidence, sleep problems, or emotional exhaustion.
You need a safe, non-judgmental space to express what’s going on without fear of criticism to receive validation and understanding from someone who “gets” how hard it feels. Combined with practical, flexible tools to help manage anxiety and stress day-to-day. To feel calmer, more in control, and less overwhelmed.
