Life can be so challenging when you're struggling - You may be doing your best to navigate your way through a difficult and traumatic life event or be struggling with past experiences, feeling low or a bit lost. Perhaps you are overwhelmed with anxiety or have behavioural patterns that you just can't seem to break the pattern of. During these times, the future can be so very difficult to see, even the next step ahead can become unclear. You don't need to struggle alone anymore. This is your first step towards feeling better and I am so glad you are here. Something will grow from all you are going through and it will be YOU.

You may be feeling overwhelmed by anxiety, low mood, anger or self-doubt. Perhaps you're carrying grief, family changes or relationship difficulties and feel stuck or exhausted. I can provide a safe, steady space where you don’t have to perform or explain everything perfectly. Our goal is to feel calmer, more in control and less critical of yourself. Ultimately, you may want to understand yourself better, cope more effectively and feel more secure in who you are.

I offer integrative psychotherapy informed by ACT, psychodynamic thinking, and somatic/body-based interventions.
I help Italian and English-speaking adults in the UK, especially expats, professionals, and people living between cultures, who are dealing with anxiety, overthinking, pressure, relationship patterns, OCD, loneliness, or major life transitions. You may look like you are coping, while inside feeling stuck, tense, disconnected, or exhausted by trying to hold everything together. Therapy offers a grounded and collaborative space to understand the patterns keeping you stuck, work differently with difficult thoughts, emotions, and body responses, and build practical psychological skills to move towards what matters in real life.

Do you carry pain that doesn't have a clear explanation; in your body, your relationships, or both? Maybe you've lived with complex trauma, abuse, or experiences from childhood that still shape how safe the world feels now. Maybe that shows up as fibromyalgia or chronic pain your body won't let go of, or as patterns in your closest relationships that feel impossible to shift. Many people I work with have spent years searching for answers their bodies and minds couldn't quite put into words. Together, we make sense of what's underneath, at a pace that feels right for you. English and French session.

Therapy can help us to manage our lives and our relationships better, it can lead to more fulfilling relationships and a renewed sense of aliveness. Learning how to manage symptoms such as overthinking, insomnia, anxiety, depression, lack of energy, or an enduring sense of helplessness and despair, can lead to renewed energy and a greater sense of freedom in our lives. In my sessions I often use teaching, in order to help make sense of and understand why you might be feeling the way you do and to help you learn ways to make changes in order to better manage those feelings.

Somatic Counsellors
How does somatic therapy work?
Somatic therapy is a form of treatment that focuses on how the body and mind are interconnected. In this approach, physical symptoms are addressed because they may in fact signal emotional distress. Somatic therapists combine mindfulness, talk therapy, breathwork, yoga, dance, and physical manipulations of the body to help patients become more attuned to what their body is telling them.

Is EMDR a somatic therapy?
EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is a form of somatic therapy, as it incorporates mental and physical principles. EMDR involves remembering a traumatic experience while allowing one’s eyes to track a side-to-side visual stimulus from a therapist. This lateral eye movement is believed to diminish the painful power of the memory so that it can be discussed with a therapist.

Is somatic therapy evidence-based?
Somatic therapy has been researched and studied, and some forms of somatic therapy are found to be effective in treating a wide range of conditions. Because somatic therapy encompasses many techniques, some, such as EMDR and meditation, have been studied more than others.

What is somatic trauma therapy?
Somatic trauma therapy is based on the idea that when people experience trauma, they can become stuck in the “freeze” part of a “fight, flight, or freeze” response. In this state, trauma can manifest itself both mentally and physically—through tension in the muscles, anxiety, and stress. Popular forms of somatic trauma therapy include EMDR, sensorimotor therapy, and somatic experiencing.
