I am an open minded, warm hearted individual that offers a confidential, friendly, therapeutic space with a warm welcome. I fully understanding how difficult it may be for clients to take their first steps into counselling. I work with the client through their feelings, past traumas or painful experiences. It's important for an individual to feel really listened too, accepted and understood.

I am currently offering face to face counselling, as well as online or telephone sessions.
Life can sometimes be difficult. There may be times when we find ourselves experiencing stress, anxiety, panic, or struggling with extremely low moods or bouts of depression. Maybe you find yourself struggling with life's difficulties, often feeling isolated and alone, believing that there isn't anyone you can turn to, including work colleagues, friends or family. Maybe past experience has taught you not to trust anyone with your feelings. Or maybe you find yourself believing that no one truly understands what you are going through.

My ideal client would be somebody who realises that their issues are negatively impacting their day-to-day life & disrupting their relationship with the important people in their lives. They would need an empathetic listener who would be non-judgmental and appreciate & understand their essential needs in order to function in a healthy manner. The client's goal would be to work with the therapist to help value themselves, raise their self-esteem & self-confidence in order to change their train of thought from negative to positive. The client would ideally want to feel safe and secure within their own thoughts, feelings & behaviours.

I offer face to face sessions with clients, but can be flexible enough to work online also, should that be your choice,
There are no "ideal" clients - there are only people and people have throughts and feelings that can sometimes be too much to handle by themselves. At these times I believe that reaching out and speaking to someone who is trained to listen and not judge, someone who is empathetic and wants to help, can be the catalyst for change in a person's life. You might be a person who has struggled to be understood, who needs to process your thoughts and feelings with a trained and experienced counsellor in order to move past this period of confusion and distress.

I am currently offering Face to Face and online services.
I have a vast range of experience in working with clients with varying presenting issues. I am empathic and caring and will support you in your journey. I was drawn to counselling from my own life experiences. One of the most important things I feel I can offer to you as a client is empathy. Previously I have volunteered with a grief charity as part of my journey to being the fully qualified counsellor I am now. This journey has taken me 8 years of academic study and volunteering in a variety of counselling agencies. I feel I am still on my own personal journey, which will never end in terms of learning.

You may be thinking about counselling for many reasons, eg: You’re trying to come to terms with a loss, or illness. You're going through a significant life change (e.g., retirement, kids leaving home, career change, relationship breakdown, relocation, becoming a parent). You may feel angry, sad, depressed, anxious, confused, stuck – and perhaps not know why, or what to do about it. You may want to make sense of things that happened in the past, or improve a relationship. Whatever your reason for seeking counselling, it can help you to understand yourself better, and feel more confident to make the changes that are important to you.

I continue to offer online therapy as well as some in person appointments
We all respond differently to the pressures and changes- you may be swinging from one emotion to another, or feeling numb and tired, or just can't think straight... We are all doing our best to cope, but maybe your normal ways of coping aren't working well enough at the moment? Or maybe you have turned to ways of coping that are unhelpful- like drinking too much ? I can help you find your feet and see what is important for you right now. I know how important it is to find a breathing space to process what is happening when you are living with chaos and uncertainty

You deserve a peaceful life. I am here to listen and offer a nonjudgmental space for you to just be yourself and make the changes you deserve! I don't know what you are currently going through, but I know what it's like to feel at loss when things are difficult. I also know that you have an innate ability that can help you overcome life difficulties. Things may not go back to how they used to be, but they can evolve in ways that can be even better.

I am an experienced and accredited counsellor who feels passionately about the transformative change that can emerge from good quality therapeutic support and the positive impact it can have on one's life. I work with adult clients experiencing a wide range of symptoms and difficulties. Some may find they are struggling to manage life and/or their emotions, and may experience feelings of overwhelm. Other clients come to therapy following an upsetting, difficult, or traumatic experience that has recently occurred, or that has happened in the past but continues to cause upset or unease in the here and now.

I offer in person sessions in a lovely therapy room in Old Town Swindon.
Hello, my name is Tanya. As a counsellor- psychotherapist for over 25 years and a supervisor for 15, I continue to see how helpful counselling can be. Are you finding life tough, trying to deal with stress, anxiety, loss, feeling low or depressed or the impact of spiritual issues, chronic health conditions, or abuse and trauma? I am sorry you are having to struggle - life can get us down and sometimes the most courageous thing we can do is to seek some support. In our first session you can tell me what you are dealing with and see if it feels ok to work with me.
