The most important aspect of our work together, will be our therapeutic relationship and the work we do, will be guided and led by you.
I work in person or online, short term or long term, depending on your need. As an integrative therapist, drawing from a variety of theoretical approaches, I will interact with you, ask questions, guide, explore, and with you, we will gain the clarity and support you need. I can also offer psycho-education where required, signpost and make onward referrals.

I work with individuals and couples, helping them find ways to live a more fulfilled and satisfying life.
In session, I'll listen, ask questions, share thoughts and feelings and ensure our pace and direction feels right for you. I like to communicate plainly and clearly, (without ‘therapy speak’), and aim to bring compassion, creativity, acceptance and myself to our meeting, as a therapist and human being; I'm very much not a 'blank page'.

There are many reasons people seek out therapy, no matter what brings you to therapy, it is important. You might be finding that distressing thoughts or feelings are becoming overwhelming. Or perhaps you experience unpleasant physical symptoms like headaches and tension. Experiencing an emotional response is a normal, but understandably, it can be unpleasant, and you might feel uncertain what to do when it happens or how to cope after. Sometimes we all need support and guidance; we don't have to deal with everything on our own, especially when it gets tough

I have also learnt that creating an environment to help my clients feel safe is essential in building an effective relationship.
Sometimes the battles in our lives feel overwhelming and impossible to share with others. Such feelings can be triggered by a wide range of issues including anxiety, depression, trauma, PTSD, abuse (recent or historic), self-esteem and low confidence, relationship issues, or health anxiety. Together we can work through these difficult feelings.

My first training in therapy was ‘Person Centred’. This therapy places emphasis on providing a safe, empathic, non-judgemental space to discuss whatever is troubling you. I have come to specialise in Trauma and Complex PTSD (post traumatic stress disorder). EMDR is clinically proven to heal all kinds of traumatic experiences. More recently, I have begun to incorporate Internal Family Systems (IFS) theory into my practice as it helps to identify different parts of ourselves that can sometimes be in conflict.

I'm a sex and relationship therapist with over 15 years' experience.
My approach is practical and tailored. I don't believe one method fits everyone, so I assess from our first conversation what suits you — structured techniques when that works, more creative and experiential work when it doesn't. We set clear, measurable goals together, and most clients notice real change by the sixth session.

I specialise in individual therapy and couple therapy.
Your well-being is the heart of a life lived fully. We often think of health as physical, but mental health is just as vital. Therapy is a gentle process of turning toward yourself with curiosity instead of judgement. It’s about building the self-awareness you need to create lasting change. You deserve a space where you don't have to carry that weight alone. Whether you’ve been in therapy before or are taking a brave first step today, I know how daunting it feels to find the "right" person. My goal is to truly listen to the nuances of your life and tailor our sessions to meet you exactly where you are.

FAQ - About Couples Therapy
Does couples counseling work?
Research shows that couples counseling is effective; it can reduce relationship distress and improve emotional awareness, communication, empathy, intimacy, and overall relationship satisfaction. For example, emotionally focused therapy was found to be effective for about 75 percent of couples, and those benefits lasted at least two years.

When should a couple seek counseling?
Couples can benefit from counseling if they consistently struggle in their relationship. They may have lost the ability to communicate effectively, become entrenched in harmful patterns, begun to fight more than usual, broken the other’s trust, suffered from a mental or physical illness, or faced any number of other challenges. Many therapists offer free consultations, so if a couple isn’t sure whether therapy is necessary, asking directly can provide clarity.

How can I get my partner to go to couples therapy?
The decision to seek couples therapy is often driven by one partner, who then convinces the other to participate. When discussing the idea, the initiator should be direct and assertive. They can state the problems they see and explain how the relationship would benefit from therapy. In more serious cases, they can also explain how their relationship may suffer without making any changes or seeking professional help.

How does a couple prepare for couples counseling?
The anticipation of beginning couples counseling can be difficult—sometimes more difficult than the first session itself. Taking a few moments to reflect can allay those concerns: What are the current challenges? When and how did they begin? What do they want the relationship to look like in the future? Reflecting on these questions can help individuals or couples articulate their goals. Of course, the therapist will also ask questions and guide couples through the process.
