I’m an integrative psychotherapist with a background in somatic therapy, movement, and embodied approaches to healing. My work is rooted in the understanding that our sense of self is shaped not only by conscious thought, but by the stories, archetypes, relational patterns, and subconscious programmes carried within the body and nervous system.

Hello, I'm Rike. Thank you very much for taking the time to read my profile. Sometimes life has this way of throwing challenges in our path that are unexpected and can leave us feeling vulnerable, helpless, out of control or simply puzzled about our own feelings and thoughts. Talking to someone in a safe and confidential space can enable us to understand ourselves better, move forward with greater self-awareness and self-worth and help connect all the pieces. If you are curious to explore any challenges or difficulties and would feel most safe in a judgement-free and confidential space, then I may be able to help and support you.

Using EMDR, Art Therapy, and talking therapy, I tailor sessions to your needs.
I help adults who are struggling with addiction, alcohol or drug use, trauma, PTSD, CPTSD, anxiety, and the lasting effects of difficult life experiences. You may feel trapped in patterns you want to change, using substances to cope with stress, painful memories, or overwhelming emotions. Perhaps you've experienced childhood trauma, abuse, neglect, or difficult relationships and now find yourself feeling anxious, low and alone. My therapy approach is compassionate, collaborative, and paced according to your needs. Together, we can find understanding and help you to develop the skills you need to support your recovery.

I work with adults and young people experiencing anxiety, depression and burnout, particularly those who are struggling with issues related to neurodivergence. I believe that experiencing life as a neurodivergent person causes ongoing trauma, and sometimes we reach a point where we no longer feel able to cope. Exhausted people want to be able to talk with someone who gets it and who won't be judgemental or impatient however they present (with or without a mask). Whether you are living with the challenges of neurodivergence yourself or parenting neurodivergent children or young people, I will listen with empathy and compassion.

We all wish for our children to thrive and live life to their full potential. Difficulties however may arise in life which may lead to children/teenagers struggling with day-to-day, experiencing overwhelm and worries they are unable to manage. This may be due to a traumatic event, changes within the family unit, loss of a loved, challenges due to being neurodivergent and/or the impact of the demands of school and the environment. At times it may be a combination of challenges which even the child or caregiver may not understand the root of. Counselling for the child or adolescent or specialist support for the parent can help.

I believe the same is true for children and using sand tray and art materials I allow children to process their emotions through play.
Psychotherapy is not a hierarchical relationship whereby the psychotherapist knows more than the client. In fact, it is the opposite, I believe that you know what is right for you but perhaps are too overwhelmed by your current feelings to be able to see the choices available to you.

Within the provision of a non judgemental, unconditionally accepting and culturally attuned environment, I hope clients experience the therapeutic space a safe one. I believe the client is the expert in their own life (even if they don't feel like they are). Part of my work is to help you make the best of your own experience and understanding, leading to change and growth and into new ways of being, thinking and feeling. My work as a pluralistic therapist is underpinned by modern developmental thinking from Neurobiology, Attachment and Trauma theory.

I offer art therapy to children and adults including those with attention hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), on autistic spectrum, learning difficulty and disabilities.
In the sessions I draw from many approaches for instance child led or person centred. I incorporate many creative ways and explore with you to navigate themes, for example anxiety, friendships, relationships, habits and depression. Many other areas can be investigated too. Myself being dyslexic I can empathise with learning difficulties and disabilities.

As well as online video apps, I work face to face with adults, young people (18+) and couples. Sometimes friends or family are unable to support you so an impartial professional can really help. Powerlessness, change, loneliness, grief and anxiety are just a few of the overwhelming feelings many are experiencing. There is no need to be alone in this. Call for a chat to see if, together, we can find a way forward.

Hello! I'm Soirse and I'm a Creative Therapist practicing in Islington, London. I help adults and adolescents who are living with the impact of difficult life experiences, struggling with low mood, or feeling disconnected from their authentic identity. Do you feel constantly on edge, replaying painful memories, or struggling to switch off? Maybe you’re finding it hard to sleep, coping with waves of anger or sadness, or noticing yourself withdraw from people and situations. Sometimes past experiences show up in the present - in your emotions, your relationships, and how you see yourself - leaving you feeling stuck or disconnected.

How does art therapy work?
The process of making art allows people to express themselves. Art-making can take many forms, such as painting, collage, or sculpting. The therapist asks questions that the work elicits, such as how the person felt while creating their piece, or if any memories surfaced that they can discuss. The therapist will then work with the patient to process their experience, understand themselves better, and work toward change.

Does art therapy help with trauma?
Art therapy can be a valuable treatment option for those suffering from trauma. Traumatic experiences such as combat, rape, or childhood abuse can be so painful that articulating them can be too scary or painful; creating art allows people to express themselves without words, and tell their story in a different way. The physical nature of creating art can also help people feel rooted in the body, which may benefit those who feel disconnected from their body in the aftermath of trauma.

How long does art therapy last?
The duration of art therapy varies, but a common length for treatment is 10 to 15 weekly sessions. Some people may see improvement in just a few weeks, while others may choose to remain in therapy longer term. Patients should periodically discuss their goals with their therapist to make sure the two are aligned on process and progress.

What are the limitations of art therapy?
Art therapy is helpful for many people, but a limitation is that it doesn’t have as robust an evidence base as other forms of therapy, such as cognitive behavioural therapy or acceptance and commitment therapy. The evidence on art therapy is mixed; some research demonstrates its benefits, while other research suggests that it has little impact on patients.
