I'm a BACP-registered psychotherapist in NHS primary care and private practice. I offer a warm, collaborative space where you can take a breath, reflect, and be met with compassion. You may be feeling stuck, overwhelmed, low in confidence, or facing a period of change or loss. Therapy offers the chance to build self-awareness and understand how you relate—to yourself, others, and the world around you. Together, we’ll make sense of patterns that no longer serve you, and support a way forward that feels more aligned with who you are and how you want to live.

Perhaps you are wondering why choose to work with me or what would this look like? We can begin with exploring what you are going through and look to increase awareness and understanding of the impact of these lived experiences, and possibly identify the origins. Your journey and experiences are unique. You bring your story and together we will navigate the feelings, thoughts, emotions and behaviours, validate the impact and create a clear picture of the change you might hope to achieve. Through this process we can also explore ways you can best implement change for an improved lived experience.

I also integrate elements of Compassion Focused Therapy and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy into my practice.
Hello! I’m a BABCP accredited CBT therapist and clinical supervisor with over 13 years’ experience, and I currently work in both the NHS and private practice. Are you struggling with anxiety, overthinking, or low self-esteem, even though you seem to be managing on the outside? Many people I work with tell me they feel stuck in loops of worry, self doubt, and a very critical inner voice. You might find your mind is always busy, analysing, thinking ahead, or preparing for the worst. It can be hard to properly relax, even when things look fine to other people.

I predominantly use ACT but am trained in CBT/DBT/CFT/EMDR (further details on website) and offer treatment based on an individualised formulation.
It can be tricky to choose a therapist and understand the various titles therapists go by and the different types of therapies on offer. I think one of the most important factors in choosing a therapist is the fit between the client and therapist and whether the relationship feels warm and empathic. My therapeutic style is to identify and build on existing strengths and to offer a supportive space to explore difficulties and patterns of behaviour. Having had my own psychotherapy, I am familiar with what it feels like to be on the receiving end of therapy and I am sensitive to this during my work. (Online only- not in person).

While I am trained in approaches including CBT, attachment-informed therapy, ACT, and psychodynamic theory, my core modality is Person-Centred therapy.
I believe therapy offers a safe, warm, non-judgemental and confidential space where people can pause, reflect, and truly be heard. It is a place to explore what feels difficult, understand yourself more deeply, and begin creating the change you desire. I know how hard it can be to sit opposite someone and talk about the things that feel overwhelming, painful, or confusing. It takes courage. For me it’s a true privilege to build a therapeutic relationship and connection, to genuinely walk alongside my clients on their unique journeys. As Carl Rogers said, “Change begins by being fully heard and accepted.”

My approach is integrative, drawing from CBT, ACT, CFT, systemic and psychodynamic therapy that I have been trained on.
My therapeutic stance is compassionate, collaborative, and evidence-based. Together we’ll make sense of what you’re experiencing, where these difficulties may be stemming from, identify patterns that keep you stuck & build practical strategies that support real change, while also paying attention to your values, relationships, and what matters most to you.

We all wish for our children to thrive and live life to their full potential. Difficulties however may arise in life which may lead to children/teenagers struggling with day-to-day, experiencing overwhelm and worries they are unable to manage. This may be due to a traumatic event, changes within the family unit, loss of a loved, challenges due to being neurodivergent and/or the impact of the demands of school and the environment. At times it may be a combination of challenges which even the child or caregiver may not understand the root of. Counselling for the child or adolescent or specialist support for the parent can help.

Acceptance and Commitment (ACT) Counsellors
How does acceptance and commitment therapy work?
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy encourages a person to listen to their self-talk. A person’s inner dialog can be indicative of how they treat themselves. ACT also encourages self-compassion; this can lead to a better understanding of negative thought patterns and emotional states. This understanding can then lead the individual to needed behavior change.

What are the goals of acceptance and commitment therapy?
The goal of acceptance and commitment is to expand a person’s psychological flexibility, a trait that encourages an individual to live in the present moment and to accept all their thoughts, feelings, and emotions, even ones that are difficult such as sadness and anxiety. In ACT, this acceptance is congruent with the individual’s values and beliefs.

Does acceptance and commitment therapy work for depression?
Acceptance and commitment therapy is effective for depression because it allows the individual to view their discomfort and suffering differently. Depressive feelings about relationship heartaches, for example, are a part of life. A despondent person learns to let go of their struggles and instead view their painful thoughts and feelings with compassion. This will lead the individual toward positive change.

How long are people typically in acceptance and commitment therapy?
A typical acceptance and commitment therapy session is 50 minutes long with one session per week. Treatment for common problems such as anxiety, depression, or relationship difficulties can last between eight weeks to four months. However, more severe cases may require more than one session a week and/or a longer time frame for treatment.
