I draw on somatic awareness, parts work, EMDR, and trauma focused ACT to support regulation, processing, and integration at a pace that feels manageable.
You might be here because you’ve been carrying something difficult for a long time, or perhaps you’ve been through something overwhelming recently. You might be noticing changes in how steady you feel inside — feeling more anxious or low in mood, getting overwhelmed more quickly, or finding yourself shutting down or not fully present when things feel demanding. These are common trauma responses, and they can make everyday life feel harder to manage.

I draw on many therapeutic traditions to suit your needs, with Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and Existential Therapy at the core.
Do you struggle with focus, procrastination, or emotional overwhelm? I support people whose minds are often in hyperdrive, especially those with ADHD and/or anxiety. Over time, living this way can put strain on your relationships, wear down your self-esteem, and drain the joy from life. I offer a space where you don't have to mask and where you'll be supported by someone who has been there personally, and who brings a strong grounding in the research on both ADHD and anxiety. Together we'll work towards more ease and clarity, and a steadier trust in yourself.

In addition to a Masters degree in Professional Educational Psychology I have a Post Graduate Diploma in Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) specialising in Children and Young People, and additional training in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy ( ACT).
I have a particular interest in working with children and young people experiencing mild to moderate anxiety or low mood. This might be making school life challenging, or it might be affecting life at home or within friendships. I use approaches from Cognitive Behaviour Therapy which has a strong evidence base for treating anxiety in children and adolescents. Depending on the child's age I would either work directly with the child, or with the parents/carers.

I work primarily with CBT (trained at degree level) alongside MBCT, ACT, and person-centred work, with specialist training in trauma and CBT for Insomnia.
The people who come to us arrive with the full range of adult difficulty — anxiety that has been wearing them down, depression, the after-effects of trauma, relationships that are not working, neurodivergent adults, LGBTQIA+ clients looking for genuinely affirming practice, and senior professionals carrying pressure they cannot put down anywhere else. What our team of more than 90 qualified counsellors and therapists offers is something specific: deliberate matching. You are not assigned to whoever happens to be available. You are matched to the practitioner whose training, specialism, and approach actually fit your needs.

My clients come with a wide range of different issues. They need their own space to be able to talk to someone who is independent without being judged. My clients goals are to be able to overcome and hopefully resolve their difficulties so they can lead their best life possible. I think clients would like their therapists to focus on specific goals, to help give them structure, and strategies to help them cope with their problems. My goal as a therapist is to enable the client to make critical decisions regarding alternative courses of action without outside influence.

Acceptance and Commitment (ACT) Counsellors
How does acceptance and commitment therapy work?
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy encourages a person to listen to their self-talk. A person’s inner dialog can be indicative of how they treat themselves. ACT also encourages self-compassion; this can lead to a better understanding of negative thought patterns and emotional states. This understanding can then lead the individual to needed behavior change.
What are the goals of acceptance and commitment therapy?
The goal of acceptance and commitment is to expand a person’s psychological flexibility, a trait that encourages an individual to live in the present moment and to accept all their thoughts, feelings, and emotions, even ones that are difficult such as sadness and anxiety. In ACT, this acceptance is congruent with the individual’s values and beliefs.
Does acceptance and commitment therapy work for depression?
Acceptance and commitment therapy is effective for depression because it allows the individual to view their discomfort and suffering differently. Depressive feelings about relationship heartaches, for example, are a part of life. A despondent person learns to let go of their struggles and instead view their painful thoughts and feelings with compassion. This will lead the individual toward positive change.
How long are people typically in acceptance and commitment therapy?
A typical acceptance and commitment therapy session is 50 minutes long with one session per week. Treatment for common problems such as anxiety, depression, or relationship difficulties can last between eight weeks to four months. However, more severe cases may require more than one session a week and/or a longer time frame for treatment.
