Life can be incredibly painful and confusing. There can be times we don’t know what to do or where to turn. Counselling and psychotherapy can offer a safe space to try and work things out and find a better, more fulfilling way of life. It can sometimes helpful to look at the past, to help us better understand And heal the present. I have over 20 years experience. I also work for BACP - British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy in the Professional Standards team.

Online psychotherapist with an eclectic and inventive approach. Practicing Internal Family Systems Therapy (IFS) and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT). Neurodiversity affirming. I believe that people already have within themselves what they need to overcome their struggles. All it takes is a bit of guidance. My wish for my clients is that they find the inner freedom to live the life that they want. I mostly work with expats, travelers, digital nomads, burners - I can relate to the lifestyle and can appreciate the need for flexibility and rescheduling sessions when necessary, however, anyone is welcome.

For me, the heart of counselling is a good relationship between client and counsellor.
I have previously been involved in Education for 26 years, so have many years of experience with teachers and young people. I currently work therapeutically, two days in a school with young people from ages 7 to 19. I also have my own private practice; predominantly with adults. I have experience of working with neurodivergent clients and those in crisis.

Whether you come to me for longer term psychotherapy, shorter term work, or for CBT/REBT, my initial aim will always be the same; to create a warm, secure, boundaried space in which we can build our therapeutic relationship.
I am interested in you as a unique individual and in your connection to the world on an emotional, physical and spiritual level and in how you may experience feelings energetically, in your body. Whatever you bring, we can explore it together and find ways to understand and make meaning from your experiences.

I see a lot of clients with relationship issues as well as depression, anxiety, sexual identity, suicide and trauma.
I work from a person-centred approach. I find the clients I work with find value in exploring their issues in the room and having someone to listen, to challenge them and to look for solutions together. There is no rush and I work at the clients pace.

I am a person-centred counsellor offering a safe, compassionate, and non-judgmental space for adults, teenagers, and couples.
Having knowledge and certificates in different modalities I adapt the way I work to suit each client, as every client is unique, and everyone works well with different approaches. I do this by integrating therapies to best suit the individual needs of each client.

I work with trauma patterns, neurodivergence and relationship difficulties, especially where old experiences shape how you feel in yourself and with others.
I work with adults who are thoughtful or questioning, and who may feel stuck in old patterns or at a point of change when the old ways of living no longer fit. You may be exploring trauma, identity, neurodivergence or spirituality. I offer a warm, steady space where we can make sense of what is happening and support you in moving towards greater self-understanding, grounding, and aliveness and living in the present.

My ideal client may have experienced trauma — something that touches most of us in different ways. I believe we learn and grow not only from our successes but also from our pain. Many clients come to me feeling the weight of post-traumatic stress; together, we work toward post-traumatic growth. While trauma is a common thread, I work with a wide range of presenting issues. My approach is to focus on the person, not just the problem, creating space for understanding, healing, and change.

Couples Counselling
Does couples counseling work?
Research shows that couples counseling is effective; it can reduce relationship distress and improve emotional awareness, communication, empathy, intimacy, and overall relationship satisfaction. For example, emotionally focused therapy was found to be effective for about 75 percent of couples, and those benefits lasted at least two years.

When should a couple seek counseling?
Couples can benefit from counseling if they consistently struggle in their relationship. They may have lost the ability to communicate effectively, become entrenched in harmful patterns, begun to fight more than usual, broken the other’s trust, suffered from a mental or physical illness, or faced any number of other challenges. Many therapists offer free consultations, so if a couple isn’t sure whether therapy is necessary, asking directly can provide clarity.

How can I get my partner to go to couples therapy?
The decision to seek couples therapy is often driven by one partner, who then convinces the other to participate. When discussing the idea, the initiator should be direct and assertive. They can state the problems they see and explain how the relationship would benefit from therapy. In more serious cases, they can also explain how their relationship may suffer without making any changes or seeking professional help.

How does a couple prepare for couples counseling?
The anticipation of beginning couples counseling can be difficult—sometimes more difficult than the first session itself. Taking a few moments to reflect can allay those concerns: What are the current challenges? When and how did they begin? What do they want the relationship to look like in the future? Reflecting on these questions can help individuals or couples articulate their goals. Of course, the therapist will also ask questions and guide couples through the process.
