I am a very experienced therapist, I have worked within the NHS and in Private Practice since 1994 and am a Senior Jungian Analyst, a Training Analyst, an Examiner and a Supervisor. I have a special interest in working with people experiencing relationship difficulties, difficulties in the workplace and those suffering from depression and anxiety. There is a wisdom in anxiety, any emotional crisis is a call for personal growth, for insight and to a new path through life. The belief that symptoms have meaning leads to a more positive approach and outcome, so that suffering is not in vain but the prelude to a more meaningful life.

In 16 years of practice I have probably seen most presenting problems. I specialise in stress, anxiety and depression . Stress can contribute to other issues of chronic pain or illness like Diabetes, ME/CFS or Fibromyalgia.. I qualified with Relate and worked for them for 10 years so have much experience in relationships too. I work both online and face to face. It is very important to choose a therapist who you connect with and for this reason I offer a 15 minute telephone conversation or a 30 minute meeting in person to discuss your requirements

Life can throw all sorts of things at us, and can leave impressions in us that are very unhelpful. People come to see me for all sorts of reasons. I meet clients who have anxiety, which shows itself in so many ways, like panic attacks, intrusive negative thoughts, obsessive/compulsive behaviour or even fears about something they want or need to do in their work or social life. They might have lost confidence in themselves and their skills, or feel that they need to develop and improve some aspect of themselves, such as their self-worth. Sometimes it's a single issue, like grief - or complex, like depression , anger or relationship.

Since 2013, I have provided 1-1 & group support for young people affected by anxiety and depression as well as other problems commonly affecting young people today.
Helping children & adolescents through emotional and psychological challenges can feel like an exhausting and onerous endeavour for parents and carers. Equally, it is not always easy for a young person to talk freely about their feelings, particularly with their family or friends as they may be too close to the problem. Counselling provides an opportunity to express their feelings about what is going on in their lives in a confidential and safe setting.

Depression Counsellors
Depressive disorders are characterized by persistent feelings of sadness and worthlessness and a lack of desire to engage in formerly pleasurable activities. Depression is not a passing blue mood, which almost everyone experiences from time to time, but a complex mind/body illness that interferes with everyday functioning. It not only darkens one's outlook, it is commonly marked by sleep problems and changes in energy levels and appetite. It alters the structure and function of nerve cells so that it disrupts the way the brain processes information and interprets experience.

Despite feelings of hopelessness and worthlessness, depression is a treatable condition. It can be treated with psychotherapy by depression counsellors in Stratford-upon-Avon. As with many illnesses, the earlier treatment begins, the more effective it can be and the greater the likelihood that recurrence can be prevented.

Psychotherapy addresses the thinking patterns that precipitate depression, and studies show that it prevents recurrence. Drug therapy is often helpful in relieving symptoms, such as severe anxiety, so that people can engage in meaningful psychotherapy.
