Therapy is all about creating meaningful change that will help you to not be held back by mental health difficulties and live your life to the fullest. There's a massive difference between living, and merely existing, and I have been there myself. I feel privileged and excited to be a part of your journey to reach your full potential. This can be a daunting time, as you explore parts of yourself that you haven't acknowledged before, or you have tried previously to work on. I am passionate about therapy as I have seen how life changing it can be and will help you every step of the way to achieve your goals.

I am an integrative counsellor with experience in both the private and NHS sectors, working with adults and young people. In my experience, many clients come for counselling for help with depression and anxiety caused by difficulties within relationships, friendships, work-based stress as well as isolation and loneliness. By gently encouraging and challenging them to face up to their fears and concerns, they achieve greater insight and self-knowledge and gain a larger perspective on their situation. Through this they come to realise that there are other options and choices available to them through which they may improve well-being

I specialize in the emotional world of men navigating masculinity, fatherhood, and partnerships while carrying high levels of responsibility. If you're reading this, you're likely capable and outwardly functioning well. But internally something feels off: disconnection, repeating patterns, distance in your close relationships. You want deeper connection, renewed intimacy and a grounded way of relating that's real, not performed. You may be navigating painful patterns you can't break, balancing leadership demands with emotional presence at home or rebuilding after years of drift.

You may be coming to therapy feeling anxious, depressed or overwhelmed - perhaps restless and unsettled, unsure why things feel off. You may notice recurring patterns in relationships, struggle with confidence or self-esteem, or feel disconnected from yourself and others. Maybe you’re navigating grief, a life transition or long-standing stress. You want space to slow down, be seen, and time to understand your inner world more deeply. Perhaps you hope to reconnect with emotions, make sense of what you're living through, and move toward a life that feels more grounded, authentic, and alive.

Life can feel overwhelming, whether you're managing OCD, Trauma, Social Anxiety, or a cycle of worry. I work with people facing these challenges, as well as high-functioning professionals and creatives who appear successful but struggle with burnout or a loud inner critic. You may feel "stuck" or hollow behind closed doors. I help you move forward by combining 20 years of NHS seniority with a collaborative approach, helping you take off the "mask" and address root causes to build a life that feels as secure on the inside as it looks to the outside world.

You are not broken. You may be feeling emotional pain, distress, or psychological strain, but that doesn’t mean you are damaged. These responses often reflect your strength and resilience. What you're experiencing is an emotional build-up, not a breakdown. You might be living with anxiety, depression, grief, low self-worth, or trauma. Over time, you may have built defences to cope and protect yourself. These patterns helped you survive, but they are not your truest self. Healing begins by gently reconnecting with the parts of you that have been hidden, and making space for who you truly are.

My ideal client is someone who is motivated to improve their situation and open to self-reflection, even if they’re feeling unsure or overwhelmed at first. They may be dealing with stress, uncertainty, life transitions, or challenges that are holding them back from feeling their best. They need support, clarity, and practical guidance, along with a space where they feel understood and not judged. Their goal is to gain confidence, develop healthier habits or perspectives, and make meaningful progress toward a more balanced and fulfilling life. Ultimately, they want change because they’re ready to invest in themselves.

I am an integrative therapist and my approach is relational, grounded in the belief that healing happens through authentic connection – when you feel truly met, seen and understood. Therapy with me isn’t about being analysed or “fixed.” It’s about having a space where you can slow down, feel supported, and explore the parts of yourself you’ve had to hide, manage or push through for too long. I offer a warm, compassionate, and non-judgmental space where we can explore your inner world, make sense of your experiences, and move towards greater self-awareness and emotional resilience.

Are you looking to make sense of things?  We seek counselling for a number of reasons including anxiety, trauma, depression, loss, stress, relationship difficulties - but also to gain a greater understanding of the ‘self’ and improve psychological well-being. Mostly and put simply, we want to learn to feel better about ourselves.

Life has a tendency to throw major challenges at us without warning. You may find yourself dealing with a specific life changing circumstance such as a new diagnosis, bereavement, traumatic experiences, relationship difficulties or redundancy to name a few. Sometimes being able to pin point feelings can be a little difficult. You may be experiencing feelings of being stuck and are anxious, depressed or just unsure of how you currently feel about your life or a certain situation.

Is everyone in the Psychology Today Therapy Directory a licensed therapist?

Counsellors and Psychotherapists listed in the directory are members of the main professional associations, mainly the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and the UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP). Most Psychologists in the directory are accredited members of the British Psychological Society (BPS) and/or are registered in the Health and Care Professions Council (HPCP).

Providers whose professional membership or primary credential has been verified by Psychology Today are signified by a “Verified” symbol. Given that professional memberships are not a statutory requirement for psychotherapists and counsellors in the UK, certain qualified professionals or organisations may choose not to maintain such memberships despite possessing the necessary qualifications. They may be selectively included without the “Verified” seal.

What’s the difference between a psychologist, a therapist, and a counsellor?

Counsellors, psychotherapists and psychologists can all provide counselling or talking therapy and have credentials and experience that enable them to do so in the UK. Psychologists have earned a degree in psychology and many are members of the British Psychological Society (BPS) and have completed a postgraduate qualification in a specialism. Counsellors and Psychotherapists are not required to have a psychology degree, but to belong to a professional organisation such as the BACP or UKCP, they are required to have completed a training course as well as clinical and supervision hours.

What type of therapy is right for me?

The type of therapy best suited to a particular individual depends on several factors, including their primary reason for seeking therapy, their preferred timeline (some therapy types last for a set number of sessions, while others are open-ended), and their personality and preferences—some may prefer a more structured approach. For many individuals, multiple types of therapy could provide a good fit.

How much does therapy cost?

The cost of therapy depends on a number of variables, including location and the therapist’s experience and training. On average, a therapy session in the UK could be between £30 - £60 when seeing a counsellor and £60 - £150 and up when seeing a clinical psychologist. If you have private insurance, your plan may cover some if not all of your sessions. You should contact your insurance provider to determine if they provide coverage for therapy sessions and to determine what, if any, requirements they might have in order for your sessions to be covered, such as a referral from your GP or medical specialist.

What are more affordable or low cost therapy solutions?

Many therapists offer sliding scale payments, usually on a limited number of slots, which consists in an agreement between the therapist and a client to pay a reduced rate. Therapists who provide such arrangements often consider the client's income or ability to pay, but the extent of the discount is ultimately at the therapist's discretion. Furthermore, while group therapy may have different goals and benefits compared to individual therapy, it can be a more affordable solution to address certain types of issues.

If you are struggling to access therapy due to budget constraints, you could also consider public funded mental health services. The NHS Talking therapies programme offers free of charge counselling for common mental health problems like anxiety and depression. The service is available to anyone registered with a GP, though you do not necessarily need to be referred by your GP and can refer yourself directly to a Talking therapies service. The service will provide different solutions, including group and individual therapy, for a limited number of sessions which are generally up to six.

Is online therapy cheaper than in-person therapy?

Many therapists charge the same amount for online therapy as they do for in-person therapy—though clients may still find this cost-effective if it cuts down on their transportation costs. Health insurance plans often offer equivalent coverage for online and in-person therapy; indeed, in many places, they are legally required to do so. Text-based or on-demand therapy apps may be cheaper than traditional one-on-one psychotherapy; however, the practice may be less effective and is not likely to be covered by insurance.

Is online therapy a good option?

Therapy conducted online can be just as effective as in-person therapy, as long as there is a strong alliance between the client and the therapist. To find a therapist who provides telehealth services to clients in your area, click “Online Therapy” on the directory homepage and search by your city or town or your postcode.

Are therapy sessions confidential?

Therapists who are part of a professional organisation such as the BACP, the UKCP, or BPS are bound by an ethical framework that requires them to uphold a confidentiality agreement. Confidentiality is a crucial part of the therapeutic relationship and only under specific circumstances, such as when there has been participation in a criminal act or act of terror, or if there is potential or known harm to the client or others, will a therapist be obligated to break the agreement. These exceptions to the confidentiality agreement are usually discussed during the initial consultation.
