I have a passion and a wealth of knowledge (professionally and personally) of supporting neurodiverse clients (predominantly, though not exclusively clients with autism and ADHD).
I see clients of all ages ( from 11+). I am not here to be an expert over your life, I'm here to support you to understand yourself, you are the expert of your experience. I work online (£55) and also offer home visits (at additonal cost in Manchester/Stockport area). I am an advocate for outdoor therapy and also offer 'walk and talk' sessions (fees vary).

I am a HCPC registered Clinical Psychologist. Clients who would be suitable: Someone who appears capable but feels stuck in familiar relational patterns or overwhelmed with emotions. They may feel unheard, misunderstood, or constantly doubting or blaming themselves. Beneath this, they want to understand why certain dynamics keep repeating. They need space to explore their emotional world, make sense of long-standing patterns, and move toward relationships and emotions that feel more balanced, connected, and authentic.

Hi! I'm Anna, a qualified counsellor based in Stockport offering face-to-face and online sessions. Our brains all work in different ways and I think it is so important that counselling reflects this. I am able to incorporate different resources like co-operative board games, video games and other creative approaches to enhance sessions for those who want to. I can offer you a space to explore your thoughts, feelings and experiences without judgement or pressure. I draw upon various counselling models to tailor my approach to you as an individual; there is no one-size-fits-all approach to therapy.

I specialise in treating mental health conditions, particularly trauma. Trauma can arise from life events, relationships, loss or abuse. It doesn't only affect veterans or those who have had near-death experiences. Sometimes, trauma is incorporated into how we view ourselves as people. I can help you to change that. I often work with clients who have suffered for many years and sometimes 'as long as I can remember' and have never gotten to the root cause of their difficulties. They would like to work with someone who is genuine, kind and who really listens to understand. To know why they feel like this and how to feel safe again.

When should I seek treatment for ADHD?

You should seek treatment for ADHD if you consistently have difficulty with attention, hyperactivity, or impulsivity that interferes with your daily life. Symptoms of ADHD include the inability to sustain attention during tasks, difficulty organizing tasks and activities, being easily distracted, frequent fidgeting or squirming, and talking or interrupting excessively. If these symptoms interfere with your career, academics, or relationships—for example, consistently failing to complete professional projects on time—you should seek an evaluation for ADHD.

How does treatment for ADHD work?

Effective treatment for ADHD often consists of medication, behavioural therapy, and lifestyle changes. Stimulant medications such as Adderall and Ritalin work by altering levels of neurotransmitters in the brain; higher levels of dopamine and norepinephrine are known to improve attention and focus. Therapy works by helping people with ADHD understand the condition, discuss their areas of difficulty, and develop behavioral strategies to manage their symptoms. In some cases, modifying one’s diet and exercise can also help improve symptoms.

How long does treatment for ADHD take?

It’s tough to give an exact time frame because everyone varies. In terms of medications, stimulants begin to work very soon after you take them, generally within the hour. It may take time to identify the right medication and dosage, but the medication itself is fast-acting. In terms of therapy, it takes time to develop skills and put them into practice, but you will likely see improvements within a few weeks or months.
