Are you struggling with addiction, anxiety, depression, important and/or difficult decisions,
relationship
issues, any other issue/issues? I am a BACP registered integrative therapist who is passionate about people's well-being. I believe we all have the capability and drive within us to live our best lives, however, due to various circumstances this can become diminished. I believe our past affects our present and can affect our future, in addition to often being a contributory factor to our diminished drive and capabilities.

I have experience of the 12 step recovery program and working with
couples
on
relationship
issues.
I am a warm, friendly person and a good listener. I have a very empathic understanding and vast experiences from my own personal life. This has shaped me to be the person I am today. Things from our childhoods and certain traumas, can have us acting out behaviours that can be damaging to us. I have experience working with
relationship
breakdowns, alcohol addiction, depression, anxiety and self harm. I have worked with adolescents and adults of all disabilities. I've worked a great deal with confidence building and low self-esteem. I can help you recognise these behaviours and what triggers them.

My ethos, a commitment to create a confidential, safe space, making room for painful feelings where you can be heard and understood. It is by exploring the depths of your thoughts and feelings and allowing you to speak the unspoken, without being judged. Whilst therapeutic approaches vary, the
relationship
between us, is ultimately the key to therapeutic change. I am a Psychodynamic Counsellor registered with the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP).

The most important aspect of successful therapy is your
relationship
with your therpist - I aim to create a safe and welcoming environment in which you can feel confident that you are safe, accepted and valued.
I specialise in working with domestic abuse and sexual trauma, both recent and historic, including childhood sexual abuse. I also have experience in a range of other areas including depression and anxiety, self-harm,
relationship
difficulties and emotional regulation. Therapy can also support less specific concerns such as general low mood or lack of motivation, and be used to compliment a pro-active attitude towards greater wellbeing and self-care.

I believe the most important part of therapy is the therapeutic
relationship
.
I provide support (currently virtual only) for a range of difficulties affecting the wellbeing and mental health of children and families, including:dealing with life changes (e.g. parental separation), low mood, anxiety, behavioural difficulties, panic attacks, emotionally-based school avoidance. I also provide support for perinatal issues (pre/post-natal anxiety, low mood, birth trauma) in addition to early years challenges (tantrums, sleep and bonding difficulties). I specialise in providing parent and family support. I strongly believe in the importance of intervening early before challenges have chance to develop further.

As adults we can lose our power, have others take it away or have our confidence broken by
relationship
breakdown or workplace conflict.
Are you upset and overwhelmed by relationships, work situations, family issues? That sense of panic and over thinking where your body feels stressed & the anxiety rockets? Did something happen that you have not shared with anyone, or feel nobody ‘gets it’? Has it felt too big & yet needs sorting and resolving? It’s understandable to feel frustrated, anxious or angry. Dealing with those feelings while maintaining a family, job & ‘a busy life’ can feel like hard work. “There needs to be more to life” & “It needs to be better than this “ are often said. To feel free from the past, to build a confidence in yourself.

I provide a safe, gentle and non judgemental space to talk. As an integrative counsellor, I accept that as individuals we are all unique and have different needs when seeking therapy and support. I believe that it is ultimately the
relationship
between the client and therapist that is fundamental for a trusting, understanding and safe therapeutic alliance and this allows for the opportunity to explore your feelings, emotions, relationships, ways of thinking and patterns of behaviour.

I work with individuals,
couples
and families that need to face a trauma, a loss, problems of anxiety, depression, fears or relational problems (such as couple conflict, emotional or behavioral problem in a child, alimentary disorder, relational closure in an adolescent). Working together will help everyone finding new energy to change and when everyone is involved in a transformation, it will be stronger and lasting. As an Italian psychotherapist I work in Italian and in English with the foreign community in UK. Sharing the experience of migration always helps to face a new life in a different country.

Couples Counselling
Does couples counseling work?
Research shows that couples counseling is effective; it can reduce relationship distress and improve emotional awareness, communication, empathy, intimacy, and overall relationship satisfaction. For example, emotionally focused therapy was found to be effective for about 75 percent of couples, and those benefits lasted at least two years.
When should a couple seek counseling?
Couples can benefit from counseling if they consistently struggle in their relationship. They may have lost the ability to communicate effectively, become entrenched in harmful patterns, begun to fight more than usual, broken the other’s trust, suffered from a mental or physical illness, or faced any number of other challenges. Many therapists offer free consultations, so if a couple isn’t sure whether therapy is necessary, asking directly can provide clarity.
How can I get my partner to go to couples therapy?
The decision to seek couples therapy is often driven by one partner, who then convinces the other to participate. When discussing the idea, the initiator should be direct and assertive. They can state the problems they see and explain how the relationship would benefit from therapy. In more serious cases, they can also explain how their relationship may suffer without making any changes or seeking professional help.
How does a couple prepare for couples counseling?
The anticipation of beginning couples counseling can be difficult—sometimes more difficult than the first session itself. Taking a few moments to reflect can allay those concerns: What are the current challenges? When and how did they begin? What do they want the relationship to look like in the future? Reflecting on these questions can help individuals or couples articulate their goals. Of course, the therapist will also ask questions and guide couples through the process.
