I specialise in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) for adults experiencing anxiety, low mood, and patterns of worry, avoidance, and overthinking that feel difficult to shift. Many clients present as high-functioning but internally feel overwhelmed, exhausted, or caught in unhelpful cycles. My work focuses on understanding the interaction between thoughts, emotions, physical sensations, and behaviours, and how these patterns are maintained over time. Together, we identify what is keeping difficulties going and develop practical, evidence-based strategies to create change. CBT is at the core of my approach, helping clients reduce avo

Whether you are struggling with emotions, relationships or physiological symptoms of anxiety or depression I can offer a safe space to explore these. You may be struggling to understand why things are so difficult, and may be very critical of yourself, thinking you should be coping better. You might have experienced a traumatic event, or always felt that you don't quite fit in, blaming yourself. You might be in a couple or a family unit struggling with arguments or disconnection from each other. You might just want to re-think your values and life goals to shift your future focus to something more rewarding.

The CBT approach is more direct and involves ACT ( Acceptance and Commitment therapy).
How do you choose a therapist? Experience and training are important: I've been practising for over 28 years and completed 3 distinct degree level qualifications; psychotherapy, CBT and mindfulness (Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy)'. Also EMDR. Text to discuss which therapy is right for you. Sessions will gently enquire of emotion, regulation, body sense, behaviours in difficult situations, gradually facilitating self awareness and awareness of situations. Exploring brings understanding. This will involve direction from me in this. Professional bodies: UKCP for psychotherapy and psychotherapeutic counselling BABCP for CBT.

I am a Clinical Psychologist with 10 years experience working within Adult, Adolescent, and Child Mental Health settings. I have received further therapeutic training in Mentalisation Based Therapy (MBT), Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT) and have extensive clinical experience working with attachment difficulties and trauma. I believe that we all learn to cope with the difficulties in life in different ways and over time these ways of coping can become unhelpful or could be keeping us stuck. You can expect a welcoming, non-judgemental, curious and compassionate approach to work alongside you, towards your therapy goals.

I never thought I would need therapy. My relationship with my wife was great. I was the managing director of a successful company. Then life got tough and we found ourselves in crisis. Going to couple therapy together saved our marriage! We’ve been back to therapy many times to keep our relationship on course. What I learned from our couple therapy and my years of one-to-one psychotherapy transformed my marriage and my life. The results of the therapy impressed me so much I decided to change career. I wanted to offer the valuable insights and knowledge I had learned to other individuals and couples in distress.

My approach to therapy is integrative, using evidence-based approaches - including CBT, ACT, DBT, CFT and Solution-Focussed Therapy - and tailored to your individual needs and goals.
Do you often feel overwhelmed by stress, worry, or constant overthinking? Perhaps your mind struggles to switch off, or you've been feeling low, unmotivated, or disconnected from yourself and others. You may appear to be coping on the outside, but inside things may feel heavy or out of balance. Therapy offers a space where you can slow down, reflect, and feel heard and understood. For over 15 years I have worked as a clinical psychologist providing psychological assessment and therapy to adults and older adults experiencing a range of difficulties, including anxiety, stress, low mood, life transitions and loss of motivation.

I am trained in a variety of evidence based therapy models such as CBT, ACT, CFT, DBT, EMDR and work with a systemic focus.
I believe that, due to the unrelenting pressures of the world we live in and the way our brains have evolved, everyone can find life difficult sometimes. It is easy for our minds to appear to work against us; getting stuck in loops of painful thoughts and feelings. This can result in depression, anxiety and difficulties with relationships. People who have experienced significant distress, trauma or hurt in life can also, not surprisingly, experience significant difficulties where memories come to haunt us and send us back to previous pain. I hope to help people life the life they want to live, with some sense of agency over pain.

I am a sex and relationship therapist based in Peckham, London and Leigh on Sea, Essex. I work with individuals, new or long-term couples, and people in multi-partnered relationships. I support clients who are struggling with sex and/or relationships to find more connection, pleasure, understanding and ease. I also recognise that intimacy, sex and relationships can hold pain, shame, trauma, numbness, confusion, or a sense of “darkness”, and it can feel hard to approach this alone. I believe therapy offers a safe container to explore these experiences at your pace, with care and curiosity, and I aim to offer this in my practice.

We will literally rewire your brain by creating new neural pathways, and you'll become your own therapist, equipped with the knowledge to live life with freedom and happiness.

I'm a doctor & therapist with a specialist interest in OCD. I believe that, with the right support & guidance, this is a highly treatable (!) problem. First, we must understand the nature of your intrusive thoughts & why they are causing you such distress. Next, we will explore how these thoughts influence the way you live your life. During this process, we’ll identify what is causing & maintaining your OCD &, most importantly, what needs to change to overcome it. In OCD, the problem is not an intellectual one. The issue lies at a deeper, more emotional level. Here, "actions speak louder than words".

Acceptance and Commitment (ACT) Counsellors
How does acceptance and commitment therapy work?
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy encourages a person to listen to their self-talk. A person’s inner dialog can be indicative of how they treat themselves. ACT also encourages self-compassion; this can lead to a better understanding of negative thought patterns and emotional states. This understanding can then lead the individual to needed behavior change.

What are the goals of acceptance and commitment therapy?
The goal of acceptance and commitment is to expand a person’s psychological flexibility, a trait that encourages an individual to live in the present moment and to accept all their thoughts, feelings, and emotions, even ones that are difficult such as sadness and anxiety. In ACT, this acceptance is congruent with the individual’s values and beliefs.

Does acceptance and commitment therapy work for depression?
Acceptance and commitment therapy is effective for depression because it allows the individual to view their discomfort and suffering differently. Depressive feelings about relationship heartaches, for example, are a part of life. A despondent person learns to let go of their struggles and instead view their painful thoughts and feelings with compassion. This will lead the individual toward positive change.

How long are people typically in acceptance and commitment therapy?
A typical acceptance and commitment therapy session is 50 minutes long with one session per week. Treatment for common problems such as anxiety, depression, or relationship difficulties can last between eight weeks to four months. However, more severe cases may require more than one session a week and/or a longer time frame for treatment.
