Over a period of more than 10 years as a Psychotherapist, I have developed a way of working that quickly allows people to feel more in control amidst the most complex of issues we face as humans. Hi, I am Shoshana. I am an Art Psychotherapist. Whether you are struggling to cope with current events or longer term unresolved feelings, I can help you explore the meaning of these emotions and how to process through them to become healthier and happier in yourself. By using art in the therapy, we can explore deep rooted causes for why we feel the way we do. Art helps us reach our unconscious voice that wants to be heard. Through developing a relationship in a safe and confidential space, I will help you explore what it is that you need to process.

You have already made a brave and important step on the journey to well-being and self-discovery, by enquiring about having therapy. As a Clinical Psychologist, I am passionate about helping people to realise the values, knowledge, and skills that they already hold, and how the awareness of this can enable them to live full, vibrant and satisfying lives. I believe that it is important to learn skills to help people cope with the present and the future, as well as making sense of past experiences to understand patterns that are happening in your life currently.

My ideal client is one of complexity; I plan on to enrol onto a Doctorate becoming a counselling psychologist. I am a qualified counsellor and my knowledge base started 15 years ago when I fell ill. I have had an eventful life, including heart problems, strokes and many other issues. Through therapies, self help and determination I am happy with my life and I would love to share my knowledge. I have specialised in complex bereavement over the past 6 years seeing clients face to face and supporting them through the hard times. There is a need for more LGBT counsellors that understand and help.

How would you feel if I told you that you can stop feeling scared, unsafe and overwhelmed ? That you could connect with those around you in an authentic and meaningful way, rather than masking yourself because you fear losing them ? I can tell you this as I have supported many people like yourself, living with complex trauma to let go of the patterns that are keeping them low, anxious, dissociated, paranoid and lonely. I work with people just like you to firstly understand what has happened to them and how the strategies they are currently using have come to be. I then work to introduce new ways of being in the world.

I have worked in Mental and Social Care for 15 years, supporting individuals and families with severe presentations such as Eating Disorders and Schizophrenia.
My clients are thoughtful individuals who value depth and reflection. Many have lived through trauma, loss, or periods of profound transition, and now seek not quick solutions but sustained psychological work. They are drawn to therapy as an ongoing investment in awareness, relationship, and inner freedom — a confidential space to explore complexity, rediscover meaning, and live with greater authenticity and emotional depth. This is a process for those who wish to engage seriously with themselves and create lasting transformation at the deepest levels of experience, where real change becomes possible.

JAN 2025 - current F2F availability for self-funding & BUPA. Hi, I’m Dr Jayde Dix! How are you? I am a clinical psychologist and I offer therapy to adults who are going through a difficult time or need some space to figure things out and move forward. It may be that you've been struggling with your mental health for a while now and have a clear problem you want some help with. Or, you might just want a hand with fine-tuning your wellbeing so it is the best it can be. Either way, I know it can feel complicated and difficult to reach out for help so I will share some information here to help you decide if we would be a good match.

I am a BABCP accredited psychological therapist with specialist training in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy. I also bring my experience as a qualified yoga teacher and yoga therapist into my work, integrating body-based awareness where helpful to support emotional regulation and trauma recovery. I support people who feel overwhelmed by anxiety, mood changes, self-doubt, or post-traumatic stress. CBT is a gentle, evidence-based approach that helps make sense of how thoughts, emotions, and behaviours are shaped by past experiences and cultural pressures. My approach is warm, collaborative, and trauma-informed.

I also have deep interest in working with people who have experienced psychosis, and related illnesses.
I work integratively, my training was in existential psychotherapy. This means I believe that life is naturally going to present struggles and that we need to navigate our way through life's givens: loneliness, anxiety and death are all givens of our life. I believe that the goal of therapy is to create space to reflect and align oneself with one's values and understand our limitations. I believe that trauma has a lasting impact on our bodies and minds, and that through understanding the mind-body connection, healing can ultimately take place. I currently hold a post working in GP practices with the NHS.

It can be hard to live in our own heads. Worries, fears, sadness and feelings of inadequacy can make it feel like we are swimming against the tide. Our psychological difficulties may have been with us for a long time or may have started more recently. Whatever our mental health concerns, psychological therapy is an opportunity to change our relationship with our minds: a place to learn the skills to cope better with what life may throw at us, and a chance to find the inner resources that we all have, to allow us to move towards living a more fulfilling life.

What’s the most effective treatment for psychosis?
The most effective treatment for psychosis is coordinated specialty care. In this model, a team of professionals works with a patient to address all aspects of the underlying disorder. This approach incorporates individual or group therapy, employment and education support, family support and education, medication management (which often involves low doses of antipsychotics), and case management to facilitate problem-solving as needed.

When should people seek treatment for psychosis?
People should seek immediate treatment at the earliest indication of psychosis. Symptoms include delusions, hallucinations, disorganized or blocked speech, and agitated body movements. Early signs that a person may be developing a disorder that will lead to psychosis include suspiciousness of others, memory problems and distractibility, an inability to think clearly, rapid or nonsensical speech, withdrawal from friends or family, aggression toward others, and sensitivity to bright lights or noises.

What if psychosis is left untreated?
Without treatment, psychosis can have significant repercussions, including injuries, job loss, homelessness, financial or legal trouble, ruptured relationships, and suffering for the person and their family. While early treatment for psychosis often yields the best results, there is no point past which it becomes useless to seek treatment. At any point, treatment can make a difference.

How do I get someone else to seek treatment for psychosis?
It’s extremely difficult to watch a loved one suffer from hallucinations, delusions, and other elements of psychosis—sometimes exacerbated by their fears of treatment. Have a conversation with them in a quiet space and maintain a calm, supportive tone. Share your concerns about behaviors you’ve observed, suggest treatment, and explain the potential benefits. Listen carefully to their responses. The person may not be ready after one conversation, but with time, they may come around.
