As a Clinical Psychologist and academic with over 10 years of experience, I work with adults who have experienced trauma as children and/or adults. Trauma often sits at the heart of people's difficulties, yet it can express itself in different ways (including through a variety of psychiatric diagnoses) and therefore careful consideration of impacts on people is needed as well as what approach is then needed to address it. I offer trauma-informed, evidence-based therapy focused on helping you make sense of your experiences, develop greater emotional stability, find more effective ways of coping, and to live a life beyond trauma.

OK, first things first. I'm double qualified, as a CBT therapist (PgDip) and a psychotherapist (FdSc Couns), and I'm both registered and accredited at the BACP. I've over 15 years working experience! But that's not what is most important. What's really important is that I don't judge, and I just want to help you be you. I am personable, real and authentic, and I offer a space that is encouraging, kind, and understanding. And also, yes, challenging. I can help you open up to change, and try new things, including experimenting with relating differently and even trying new psychological exercises. Let's meet and see what happens!

Many people come to therapy feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or exhausted from trying to cope with difficulties they don’t fully understand. Some are exploring whether they may be autistic and are seeking a thoughtful adult autism assessment to better understand themselves. Others are struggling with the impact of past experiences or trauma and want support to process these using approaches such as EMDR. Many have spent years masking or managing alone and are looking for a supportive space to gain clarity, reduce distress, and move forward with greater self-understanding and compassion.

Registered Member of BACP, Qualified ERP (Exposure & Response Prevention) for OCD, Trauma Informed Practitioner, Graded Exposure Therapy
You may be feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or unsure of what comes next — and you’ve likely tried to handle it all on your own. My clients come to me because they want to understand why they feel the way they do, heal what’s been holding them back, and build a life that feels more grounded, connected, and purposeful. Many of the people I work with struggle with anxiety, perfectionism, relationship challenges, or a sense that they’re “not enough.” Others are navigating big transitions; leaving a relationship, changing careers, confronting past trauma, intrusive thoughts or OCD. They don’t just want coping skills; they want insight, grow

There may be many reasons why you are finding life more difficult at the moment. This could be longstanding problems or perhaps something you've noticed more recently. You may want to understand why this is happening to you and what has contributed to this in order to be able to make differences in how you feel or the things that you may be doing or not doing. Each person is unique and whatever may be going on, I can support you in understanding the root of these difficulties and then help to make life long changes in order for you to make the most out of your life moving forward.

Each of our therapists come with a wealth of training in different therapies, however the foundation of what we do is exposure and response prevention therapy ( ERP), and acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT).
Our therapists work online across the UK, we also work face to face with children and young people in Farnham, Haslemere (Surrey), Petersfield (Hampshire) & London (Herne Hill). Hello, we are the Integrative Centre for OCD Therapy. The founders BACP accredited therapists Jonny Say and Stuart Ralph founded the centre in 2023 to address the need for more affordable and effective therapy options in the UK. Having both suffered from OCD for long periods of time, they created the clinic to help others sooner. Our therapists cover a range of ages from 6 years old up.

Warmth, empathy, non-judgemental acceptance, scientific rigour and humour are at the heart of my approach to therapy. I follow core CBT traditions which put the client and therapist on an equal footing in a collaborative partnership, with the client as the authoritative expert in themselves. I aim to debunk and demystify, strip out jargon, and explain transparently how I work. CBT aims to give clients a therapeutic fishing rod, not just a fish, so that clients are helped to become CBT experts, their own therapists for the future. Therapy can be challenging, but more often it should be healing, uplifting, enriching and fun.

I am a HCPC Registered Practitioner Psychologist. I work as a Consultant Clinical Psychologist in the NHS. My approach involves working collaboratively with individuals, couples, families and teams to develop a shared understanding of the patterns they want to change or enhance. This often involves identifying existing strengths and supporting clients to increase their confidence in them. This can be helpful when difficult and often traumatic experiences have eroded people's confidence in their own adeptness. This includes significant experience of supporting clients with neurodiversity.

Exposure Response Prevention (ERP) Counsellors
Do I need exposure and response prevention therapy?
Many clients decide to seek help for obsessive thoughts and compulsive behaviours when these symptoms are distressing enough to disrupt everyday life. Any thoughts or behaviours that cause friction in close relationships are also worth addressing. In addition, the client’s symptoms don’t have to be severe for them to benefit from ERP therapy.

Is exposure and response prevention therapy part of cognitive behavioural therapy?
Exposure and response prevention is one specific type of CBT that focuses on behavioural change in response to triggering stimuli. It is related to exposure therapy but adds an additional component of preventing compulsive and harmful responses.

How long does exposure and response prevention therapy take?
While every patient is different, exposure and response prevention therapy typically lasts around 12 sessions, although some treatments can take longer. A therapist will determine if the treatment is complete based on how the client faces their fears, particularly the strongest ones. When a client feels less anxiety about stimuli that once evoked terror or distress, that is generally an indication that they are nearing the end of ERP therapy.

What are the limitations of exposure and response prevention therapy?
The most common pitfalls of exposure and response prevention therapy include not addressing a client’s core fears, allowing the client to avoid their most distressing stimuli, and using imaginary exposure when the client requires real-life exposure (and vice versa). ERP therapy is most effective when the client commits to the full course of treatment; if the client stops early or doesn’t practice what they have learned outside of therapy sessions, they are less likely to have successful outcomes.
