My sessions are a mix of hypnotherapy, CBT-i, mindfulness, and ACT, tailored to you.
Hi, I'm Denise and I work with many people who look like they’re coping. They’re capable, often the person everyone else leans on. But, internally, they’re exhausted and they can’t quite explain it to themselves. They're tired, running on empty, battling insomnia, feeling overwhelmed, anxious or stressed.
I specialise in helping millennials worry less and sleep better, so that they have enough energy to perform and live at their best, without guilt or overwhelm.
Working together, they start to feel more energised, confident, motivated, and in control. They wake up rested and refreshed so that they can enjoy life more fully.

Living with ADHD can sometimes feel like your mind is doing ten things at once. Thoughts can race, emotions can feel intense, and even small things can become overwhelming. You may find yourself overthinking conversations, wondering what someone meant, or feeling misunderstood by the people around you.
Sometimes you can feel lonely even when you’re surrounded by others.
I understand that the ADHD mind can work differently. I have experience supporting young people from around the age of 15 and understand how difficult it can be when you’re trying to make sense of your thoughts, emotions, relationships, school, and the world around

I specialise in Psychotherapy for anxiety and OCD, drawing on CBT, ACT, Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT) and Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP).
You may appear to be coping well, while privately feeling caught up in worry, self-doubt or overthinking. You might replay conversations, worry about making the wrong decision, seek reassurance, or spend a lot of time checking and reviewing things. You may find uncertainty difficult or experience intrusive thoughts that leave you questioning yourself.
Anxiety and OCD can also show up through perfectionism, procrastination, people-pleasing, avoidance, checking or trying to feel completely certain before making a decision. These things can help in the short term, but often keep anxiety going over time.

How does acceptance and commitment therapy work?
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy encourages a person to listen to their self-talk. A person’s inner dialog can be indicative of how they treat themselves. ACT also encourages self-compassion; this can lead to a better understanding of negative thought patterns and emotional states. This understanding can then lead the individual to needed behavior change.
What are the goals of acceptance and commitment therapy?
The goal of acceptance and commitment is to expand a person’s psychological flexibility, a trait that encourages an individual to live in the present moment and to accept all their thoughts, feelings, and emotions, even ones that are difficult such as sadness and anxiety. In ACT, this acceptance is congruent with the individual’s values and beliefs.
Does acceptance and commitment therapy work for depression?
Acceptance and commitment therapy is effective for depression because it allows the individual to view their discomfort and suffering differently. Depressive feelings about relationship heartaches, for example, are a part of life. A despondent person learns to let go of their struggles and instead view their painful thoughts and feelings with compassion. This will lead the individual toward positive change.
How long are people typically in acceptance and commitment therapy?
A typical acceptance and commitment therapy session is 50 minutes long with one session per week. Treatment for common problems such as anxiety, depression, or relationship difficulties can last between eight weeks to four months. However, more severe cases may require more than one session a week and/or a longer time frame for treatment.
