My name is Alison and I would like you to know that whatever issues or problems you are struggling with, you are not alone. Perhaps you have anxiety which you are doing your best to cope with on a daily basis, but deep down are you constantly fighting a never ending battle just to get through each day? Or perhaps you feel it’s time to tackle that constantly burning thought that you are not good enough.

I work with adults and adolescents who may be struggling with anxiety, low self-confidence, relationship difficulties, trauma, emotional overwhelm, or a sense of feeling stuck. Many people come to therapy feeling disconnected from themselves or finding it difficult to manage emotions and relationships. I offer a reflective and supportive space to explore these experiences safely, helping clients develop greater understanding, emotional resilience, and self-awareness.

Whilst completing my Masters degree, I gained 2 years of experience in a secondary school, helping teens tackle issues such as: anxiety, depression, fear of death, isolation, peer-groups and relationships in general, with friends and parents.
Although I would like to help any and all clients going through varying types of difficulties, ideally, my client base will be that of the younger generation which I trained in. Ages range from 13-30, given I feel from our teenage years onwards is when we truly start to recognise and consider our emotions, and given today’s societal climate, I believe children and young adults are finding great difficulty in understanding their feelings about themselves, their friendships and life in general. What brings clients to my practice is my ability to be truly empathic, providing a non-judgmental environment in which they can feel safe.

From there, my work has extended to individuals facing a range of life difficulties, including domestic abuse and social isolation, grief and loss and significant life transitions.
Modern day life can have a profound impact on our emotional wellbeing. The pressures and pace of everyday responsibilities can lead to feelings of depression and anxiety, including panic attacks. These experiences can create a sense of loneliness and disconnection, often causing inner unrest and a loss of connection to ourselves and others.

I have vast experience of working with people from all walks of life helping them with concerns such as anxiety, depression, trauma, abuse, relationships, addictions, low mood , stress and bereavement as well as a space to explore any other worries.
If you’re struggling with anxiety, depression, low self esteem, relationships with others, feeling isolated or alone in relationships, feeling never ‘good enough’ or battling with addiction this could be due to your attachment pattern. How we view ourself in relation to others and the world around us affects us in everyday life. I am a qualified BA (hons) Integrative Counsellor and supervisor. I draw from different theories such as Humanistic, CBT and Psychodynamic including attachment, which enables me to tailor every session specifically for each individual. I have many years experience working for the NHS and in private practice.

Therapy is one of the greatest gifts we can give ourselves, a courageous undertaking often time-consuming, financially demanding, and at times emotionally painful. My passion is to support people in reconnecting with their autonomy and taking ownership of their lives. I use a collaborative approach that helps us explore thoughts and feelings with curiosity rather than judgment. We begin with a genogram to gain insight into early life experiences and the relationships that shaped us. From there, we identify patterns in how we relate to ourselves and others, so we can begin to make meaningful and lasting change

I have extensive experience of managing bereavement, domestic abuse issues, anxiety and the symptoms of PTSD.
Do you feel overwhelmed by your thoughts & feelings? Are you feeling anxious? Are you suffering from stress and feel “burnt out”? Do you wonder how to manage those constant thought patterns which go round & round in your head, stopping you from being able to think clearly? What would it feel like to offload and release that pressure without feeling judged or being offered well-meaning advice that just isn’t right for you? Imagine that sense of building upon your self-esteem as you learn to trust your gut feeling and know instinctively what is right for you to enable that change to happen?

There might have been a bereavement, exam stress, bullying or sudden life changes have had an impact on their self esteem.
In my counselling sessions I use an integrative approach combining aspects of play therapy, psychotherapeutically informed support, newest neuroscientific theories and young people's counselling. Together with the young people I look to find a path for them to cope better with their challenges so they are better supported when facing their difficulties.

I work with anxiety, depression, grief, self-confidence, identity, and life transitions.
I am currently accepting new clients. (+) Therapy is not about fixing you. It is about understanding you and your lived experience with care and compassion. You do not need to be in crisis to begin. Therapy can offer a consistent space to explore what feels difficult, gain clarity, and reconnect with yourself. As a South Asian therapist, I recognise the cultural and emotional barriers that can make reaching out feel daunting. If you are unsure where to begin, that is okay. You do not have to face this alone. Now is the time to prioritise your wellbeing.

How long does therapy take for grief?
There is no exact timeline for grief counseling. Some people may start to feel better after just a few sessions, while others may take months or longer to feel relief. Some specific approaches, including some types of CBT, may involve a set number of sessions, or therapy may be open-ended until the patient determines they are ready to wrap up. Just as there is no right or wrong way to grieve, there is no right or wrong way to seek therapy for grief.

When should you seek therapy for grief?
Many people mistakenly believe that their grief needs to be debilitating or all-encompassing to warrant therapy. This is not the case. While people who experience severe, prolonged grief—particularly those who are considering self-harm or engaging in unhealthy substance use—are especially likely to benefit from therapy, so too are people whose grief is less intense but still interfering with well-being or daily functioning. In practice, almost anyone struggling to process a loss could benefit from grief counseling.

Can grief be managed without therapy?
Oftentimes, yes. Grief is a near-universal part of being human, and many find that their grief, while profound, does not stop them from participating in day-to-day life and steadily eases over time without outside help. For others, however, the harsh pain of early grief persists for months or years or leaves them unable to function. This group is especially likely to benefit from seeing a therapist, who can guide them through their grief and help them reconnect with the world.

What happens if grief is left untreated?
Because grief does not in itself necessitate therapy, untreated grief will often resolve on its own. However, for some people—particularly those who would qualify for a diagnosis of prolonged grief disorder—untreated grief can be a source of seemingly endless pain or lead them to withdraw from the world. In such cases, treatment can be indispensable, as it can help an individual adapt to the loss and start living again.
