If you’re struggling with anxiety, depression, low self esteem, relationships with others, feeling isolated or alone in relationships, feeling never ‘good enough’ or battling with addiction this could be due to your attachment pattern. How we view ourself in relation to others and the world around us affects us in everyday life. I am a qualified BA (hons) Integrative Counsellor and supervisor. I draw from different theories such as Humanistic, CBT and Psychodynamic including attachment, which enables me to tailor every session specifically for each individual. I have many years experience working for the NHS and in private practice.

My journey began with supporting teenagers in a secondary school, helping them navigate the emotional, social and academic challenges that often arise during adolescence. From there, my work has extended to individuals facing a range of life difficulties, including domestic abuse and social isolation, grief and loss and significant life transitions. I also work with couples who are managing the complexities of modern life, whether it's balancing demanding schedules, working through communication issues, dealing with financial pressures, or navigating the roles we take on within our family structures.

I have many years of experience with anxiety, depression, confidence issues, fears and many more reasons people take up counselling. Are you experiencing intense emotions and feel like you’re unable to manage them in the way you would like?. Are you feeling sad, isolated and alone because of this. There really is nothing too small/big to bring to therapy. Maybe get in contact and give it a try. :)

Quite often we have no adequate words to name how we feel, and we may get lost in familiar but unhelpful or hurtful patterns of relationships and behaviours. I offer people who are hurt, worried or isolated with their thoughts to jointly explore ways how to change these patterns.

Therapy can help you whilst going through some of the most difficult times in your life, whether they are in the present or the past. As a counsellor there would be a safe place to offload those harmful thoughts in the room and where the focus is on the thoughts and feelings you have created. My focus is on you the client to support you at an emotional and steady pace; and to progress you from where you are to a place of contentment. I have been a therapist to children to mature adults. Remember that, "you are more than your past".

I specialise in Rational Emotive Behaviour Therapy (REBT) along side other integrative therapies such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT), Mindfulness and hypnotherapy. The framework my approach is built on is REBT, yet as each of us are different, I integrate the other therapies to suit each individual. Some clients benefit more from rationalising thoughts and beliefs, while some need help getting over the past, and some need help with moving forward. I work with my clients to address issues, create and reach goals, and to help them make the most of everyday life, without the struggles.

Are you struggling with your sense of self, your relationships, low mood or anxiety? Do you feel stuck in repeating unhelpful life patterns, face difficult life transitions, or suffer from the impact of past life experiences? Psychodynamic psychotherapy can help identify unconscious dynamics, often rooted in the past, thereby reducing their hold on the present. My approach is to help you develop more understanding of underlying emotional conflicts and find new ways of relating in your personal and professional life. If you would like to explore working together, then please contact me to arrange a consultation.

Most of us show more compassion to other people than we ever extend to ourselves. I believe that understanding ourselves helps us become kinder to ourselves. And when shame begins to fade, meaningful change often follows. Many of the people I work with have spent years holding everything together while quietly struggling inside. They may be experiencing anxiety, burnout, low self-esteem, grief, addiction, difficult childhood experiences or simply feel stuck. Whatever brings you here, therapy can help you make sense of your experiences, reconnect with yourself and move forward with greater clarity.

Anger Management Counsellors
How long does therapy take for anger management?
Treatment duration depends on the person’s specific challenges and circumstances. There are treatments for anger problems that are shorter and more goal-oriented, like Cognitive behavior therapy (CBT), which can last weeks to months. Others, like Dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) may last between six months and a year, while a more intensive treatment, like psychodynamic therapy, is open-ended, and clients may see their therapist for a year or longer.

How do you know if you need therapy for anger management?
Everyone gets mad from time to time. But when angry outbursts become frequent and cause damage to relationships, whether at home or in the office, it may be a good time to look into therapy. A therapist can assess where a client’s anger may be coming from, suggest strategies for averting angry outbursts, and help a client create a plan to become a calmer version of themselves.

Is there medication for anger management?
Medications do exist that help people mitigate the feeling of anger, but these are reserved for people with anger-related psychiatric disorders, such as intermittent explosive disorder, oppositional defiant disorder, or in some cases borderline personality disorder. In these cases, antidepressant medications may be prescribed to help with the client’s symptoms. In most cases of anger management, however, talk therapy is the recommended treatment, along with lifestyle changes where relevant.

What’s the best way to encourage someone to seek help for anger issues?
It’s helpful to express your concern and love for the person while framing therapy as a tool for improving their life. Offering specific examples of how an individual’s behavior affected either themselves or others should be done with compassion and with empathy. It may be useful to devise a game plan—breaking the process down into parts, such as finding a therapist, making appointments, and looking into insurance coverage.
