It could be that you’ve become stuck worrying about the future, or you’ve got some big stuff in your head that’s getting in the way of moving forwards and it’s time to do something with it so that you can move on. Maybe there is fear and anxiety of making change, or you feel stressed and sad? Or maybe there is some unavoidable unhappiness in that is in the background of your life?

I started my counselling training over 12 years ago and have years of experience working with people who are striving to understand themselves and these complicated lives that we are all living. I will never get over how much courage it takes to reach out for help at a time of crisis and I am always blown away at the strength and resilience of the human mind. I believe that we all have the potential to grow & heal and that counselling works to facilitate this process. Counselling is for everyone. Not just those who may consider themselves to be in an extreme crisis. I treat each client as an individual working with your unique needs

I am a kink and sex-positive therapist specialising in complex trauma resulting from sexual violence.
My therapeutic philosophy centres on the importance of collaboration. I offer a secure environment for exploring, dismantling, rebuilding, and creating a place in the world that aligns with your identity. I recognise how social constructs can restrict us, and together, we can work to challenge these limitations in a safe space.

I am also kink-aware and sex positive.
Hello, I’m Rebecca. I will be by your side as you explore whatever you wish to share, accepting all parts of you and bringing all parts of myself. As a person-centred therapist I offer a space that is non-judgemental, open and supportive. I offer you space that is just for you, to have the time to be heard and express yourself. I'm passionate about social justice and embed this in my practice, curious about how your identities and life experiences are felt and perceived. It feels like a really hard time to be queer and/or trans at the moment, I'm here to hold you and have understanding and experience.

I'm poly and kink friendly.
Does it feel like you’ve tried everything, but nothing changes?
You love each other - but you're stuck. There’s distance, tension, and conversations that turn into arguments (or silences). Maybe you're reeling after an affair, or just feeling miles apart, and you're wondering: Can we come back from this? My clients often tell me they miss the ease and closeness they used to have. They miss affection. Laughter. Sex. The feeling of being on the same team. They want to stop walking on eggshells and start enjoying each other again - but they don’t know how. If you’re ready to shift the pattern and reconnect, I can help.

Being neurodivergent myself, I've been drawn to work with autism, ADHD and other neurotypes, as well as the gender, sexuality, kink, and relationship diversity (polyamory/non-monogamy) community, including sex workers.
I believe that every person has the inner wisdom and potential to create a fulfilling life for themselves. However, at some point, most of us will find that we need external perspective and a space to explore issues that might make us feel stuck or hopeless. To me, counselling is a collaborative and creative relational process, and my role in it is helping people find their own personal power and joy, no matter their personal circumstances. I'm an energetic practitioner who will laugh and get excited with you, but I will also always respect your rhythm and create space for grief, pain and stuckness, for as long as it is needed.

I am also LGBTQIA friendly, poly-aware and kink-aware, so am happy working with people from either/all communities, and also people just wanting to explore any feelings about these things in a safe & accepting environment.
I adapt my therapy to suit you. If you want a warm & accepting space where you talk about whatever you like in an open, unstructured way, I'm happy to offer that. The safety of the relationship we develop is the basis for you to explore what's going on for you and understand things better. This is person-centred therapy. If you would like something more structured though, I also offer EMDR. This is a trauma therapy; we focus on specific memories or experiences that you find distressing and help you process them so you can be free from them. This is all on your terms though; you are still in control of what you choose to process.

We can look at matters such as relationships, sexuality, sense of self, gender, anxiety, kink, ADHD, depression, domestic abuse, disability and trauma.
Is everything getting too much right now? Are your struggling with your thoughts or feelings, or maybe there's just a general sense of overwhelm? We can unpick those blocks together maybe. No judgement or bias, just a quiet space to look at what's going on for you. I work with both individuals and couples, looking at communication and connection. I'm a GSRD (gender, sexual and relationship diversity) therapist and my approach is mainly person-centred, meaning that our sessions are led by you at your pace. I don’t have a fix but together we can work to find the answers within you … so maybe pull up a chair?

As a member of the LGBTQIA+ community, ND, a sex positive counsellor and supervisor i know the need for a safe, accepting space for what you want to bring to therapy.
I work with relationships & all family dynamics - ‘logical and biological’ - stuck communicating safely through conflict and disconnect. In therapy we work together to find a compassionate understanding of the challenges you have, how they are impacting you, and strategies to think, feel and be different in them to feel safe and secure. Knowing how to have confident relationships with those around us is how we thrive and this often means learning new ways to talk, act and self advocate within them. Communication is the lever of connection and psycho-education is part of our therapy so we understand ourselves, and others, better.

I work with clients of any gender on issues such as orgasm issues, erection problems, premature/early ejaculation, delayed ejaculation, low desire, pain and penetration problems (e.g. vaginismus, vestibulodynia, vulvodynia), compulsive sexual behaviour, kink and fetish exploration, this list isn't exhaustive so please reach out to hear more.
I am a fully qualified Cognitive Behavioural Therapist, alongside this I'm a Trainee Clinical Sexologist and Relationship Therapist. I understand therapy can be daunting, especially discussing intimacy and sexual issues. Creating a safe, non-judgmental space is key to exploring these issues. Psycho-sexual therapy can enhance relationships and sex life. My integrative approach tailors interventions to the individual's needs and will help clients gain a deeper understanding of themselves and how they relate to their own body and to sex itself.

Am LGBTQ+ and kink friendly and aware.
If you've got problems, I can help.. As a therapist I am happiest when I am genuinely able to make a difference to someone and help them feel better. I have had a great deal of experience of working with many different people, each one of them with their own unique story, and their own way of seeing the world, each one of them also with the problems that sometimes arise for all of us as human beings trying to live the best we can. Maybe you feel anxious and don't know why? Perhaps you've had things happen that are still affecting you?

Sex-Positive, Kink Allied Counsellors

Why might an individual want to see a sex-positive, kink-allied therapist?

A sex-positive or kinky individual may want to see a sex-positive, kink-allied therapist because the client may feel safer and more supported discussing their experiences and challenges. A therapist who identifies as kink-friendly will have experience with clients having diverse sexual preferences and will likely be nonjudgmental and supportive about issues brought to the table. It is important to note that sex-positive, kink-allied individuals may find equal success with therapists who do not have such specialised knowledge and background. The most important factor in the success of therapy is for the client and practitioner to form a strong, trusting bond.

Do therapists have special training to gain expertise in sex-positive, kink-allied treatment?

Generally, no. There are limited training programs and unofficial accreditations that therapists can pursue, but a therapist’s expertise will ultimately come from their previous experience with similar clients, their engagement with organisations that promote sex positivity or kink-allied lifestyles, and the importance they place on safety and cultural sensitivity.

How can individuals recognise a good sex-positive, kink-allied therapist?

An experienced therapist is able to help clients explore their sexual identity and expression and relieve any discomfort or stigma attached to discussing such matters and the client’s overall challenges. A therapist who is sex-positive and kink-allied is able to create an environment that honors a client’s experience and sexual preferences. To recognise a good therapist, clients can simply ask directly about topics and issues important to them and gauge their comfort level and connection with a clinician based on the responses.

Can clients benefit from having a therapist with a focus on sex positivity and alternative sexual lifestyles?

Some individuals may feel most comfortable knowing that the clinician they’re working with has a commitment to creating an atmosphere of sex positivity and has experience with relationship diversity and alternative relationship structures. Working with a sex-positive, kink-allied therapist may help clients respect their own challenges and improve identity-affirming treatment.
