Hello and welcome. People often come to therapy when life feels overwhelming, when change is happening, or when familiar patterns keep pulling them into places of difficulty. Sometimes emotions feel too much to hold alone, or we sense that something within us is wanting to be heard. Beginning therapy can feel like a big step, but with the right support it can become a gentle and nourishing process.
I’m a senior trainee in Core Process Psychotherapy and offer a safe, non-judgemental space to explore your experience with present-moment awareness and a gentle attention to what is happening in your body.

I am a humanistic therapist and use an emotional and somatic approach to help my clients solve their psychological problems, through recognising and letting go patterns of inhibition and resistance and unlocking the potential to be more fully themselves.
Trust and warmth are essential qualities that I bring when working with clients as it enables us to go deep into the work, beyond the story and into the experience. My style of working is active and engaging and I will challenge where I think it’s supportive.

I have been lucky enough in my career to date to work with some incredibly inspiring and brave individuals who have been at a crossroads in their life. Sometimes making change felt frightening or impossible due to past beliefs, stuck patterns of behaviour or limiting thought processes. Others were struggling to move on after devastation, illness, loss or identity crisis. I believe it is a privilege to be able to guide those in need at these times due to the courage and vulnerability they show. They are asking from the heart for a new beginning - to break from the past, not feel scared by the future and live truly in the present.

My key aim is to help you experience more agency in your inner world: to notice, name, and relate to your feelings with greater understanding. By doing so, you can respond rather than react – developing more choice, self-trust, and flexibility in how you meet yourself and others.

I am passionate about humans' ability to heal their emotional wounds when they feel supported on their personal path. We all have greater potential and resources than we think. A lot of the times it is difficult to access these, for various reasons. Therapy helps explore the ways we relate to ourselves and others. It is a journey towards finding or becoming yourself.

You’ve spent years second-guessing yourself, and now you’re trying to remember who you were before all the self-doubt.
Maybe you've been made to feel like you're the problem - too sensitive, too emotional, too much. You second guess yourself constantly and feel responsible for everyone else’s wellbeing. Over time, that can take a real toll on your self-worth and leave you carrying a level of anxiety that’s hard to switch off, even when things are "fine."
My clients are insightful and caring, but often stuck in survival mode. I offer a calm, trauma-informed space where you can explore what’s really going on beneath all the coping.

How does somatic therapy work?
Somatic therapy is a form of treatment that focuses on how the body and mind are interconnected. In this approach, physical symptoms are addressed because they may in fact signal emotional distress. Somatic therapists combine mindfulness, talk therapy, breathwork, yoga, dance, and physical manipulations of the body to help patients become more attuned to what their body is telling them.
Is EMDR a somatic therapy?
EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is a form of somatic therapy, as it incorporates mental and physical principles. EMDR involves remembering a traumatic experience while allowing one’s eyes to track a side-to-side visual stimulus from a therapist. This lateral eye movement is believed to diminish the painful power of the memory so that it can be discussed with a therapist.
Is somatic therapy evidence-based?
Somatic therapy has been researched and studied, and some forms of somatic therapy are found to be effective in treating a wide range of conditions. Because somatic therapy encompasses many techniques, some, such as EMDR and meditation, have been studied more than others.
What is somatic trauma therapy?
Somatic trauma therapy is based on the idea that when people experience trauma, they can become stuck in the “freeze” part of a “fight, flight, or freeze” response. In this state, trauma can manifest itself both mentally and physically—through tension in the muscles, anxiety, and stress. Popular forms of somatic trauma therapy include EMDR, sensorimotor therapy, and somatic experiencing.
