The relationships and experiences that we have, shape the way that we understand the world around. These can make us feel uneasy, and we need to think out aloud. Having an objective ear can help to better understand ourselves. This can be related to personal relationships, our working life, family challenges, life events and many aspects of the world around us. I offer a space that works ethically, and within the boundaries of confidentiality and safeguarding. I aim to support exploration of how challenges and concerns can be overcome in a collaborative way and at your pace. I offer individual counselling.

As a qualified Counsellor, I understand that whatever difficulties you are experiencing will be personal to you and I know how important it is that they are treated that way regardless of what might be going on for others around you. I know how valuable counselling can be but also how daunting it can seem at first. I work with my clients to create an environment where they feel that they can trust me and be listened to in a way that is not judgmental. I will offer you a safe and supportive space where you can talk about difficulties that you may be experiencing in relation to your past, your relationships or your current situation

My counselling approach combines aspects of Person Centred Therapy, Transactional Analysis and Psychodynamic Therapy. As a counsellor my job is to help you to both make sense of what is happening to you and to find a way to live with the challenges you are facing. I strongly believe that the best way to do this is to create a safe relationship where you don’t feel judged and can explore all of your feelings. In my work, I encourage awareness of the importance of self-care from the outset. With lived experience of both Autism and ADHD, I focus on neurodivergence and how it can impact wellbeing and self-esteem. Together, we devise strategies and tools to help with life balance. Each individual is unique; and so it is vital that clients take responsibility for their own growth. I set "homework" tasks for between sessions; utilising CBT in a collaborative process of goal-realisation and self-development, whether working online or in-person. If you are committed to deepening self-understanding, contact me to arrange an initial appointment.

I specialise in working with children & their families, particularly young children. Parents contact me because they are concerned about their child's behaviour or development, sometimes they can see that their child is worried, cross or seems sad. Often parents have questions about how best to respond to their child in different situations, or want to learn more about different parenting approaches. Parents also worry about relationships within the family; whether they feel as close to their child as they thought they would, or whether difficult times have put a strain on relationships. These are all good reasons to get in touch.
