I was going to say a few things about me, but that's not why you're here. You're here because you recognise it's time to talk about you. I can help with that. I have worked extensively with clients who experience professional "burn out", relationship issues, bereavement and loss. The list goes on. Having juggled work, family, personal loss, training and much more in recent years, I understand overwhelm. This experience means that I will listen without judgement, empathise and help you find ways to cope, moving on from the unhealthy habits and emotions you're stuck in. We'll work together towards your goals.

People usually seek therapy because they have reached a crisis point in their life and are struggling to cope alone. This can lead to feeling stuck or creating unhelpful behaviour patterns to cope which present them from living life to their full potential. We often feel confused, anxious, depressed, emotionally numb or trapped in our past without clear goals in life or clear identity. I can offer you a safe space to explore better internal understanding which promotes self awareness, personal growth and inner peace which enables you to feel full of hope and clarity to achieve personal success.

As a trans woman, I know what it's like to explain myself to someone who just doesn’t ‘get it’. I believe every trans and non-binary person deserves a therapist who understands them without judgement. Figuring out who we are is difficult enough without the crowd of people out there who don't want us to exist at all. You may be having issues with your relationships, mental health, or be unsure of where you want to end up. Transphobia, misogyny, or homophobia may be be obstacles for you in your daily life.

I am an Accredited Psychotherapist with significant specialist experience working with LGBTQ+ clients around issues of self, sex and relationships, gender identity, family, trauma, physical and mental health, substance use, neurodiversity, education/employment, sociality and loneliness, and multimorbidity.
I utilise a combination of therapeutic theories and clinical approaches to best suit the needs and preferences of the client. I believe this tailoring is most effective in establishing trust and therapeutic rapport between the client and I, providing a 'toolkit' for treatment that is efficient and of value to the client.

I work with adults who are experiencing difficulties in their relationships, sense of self, or emotional wellbeing, whether that shows up as anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, or a feeling that the same painful patterns keep repeating. I also welcome people working in high-pressure professional environments who are experiencing stress, burnout, or a growing sense that something needs to change. I welcome people from all backgrounds and work affirmatively with LGBTQ+ clients. I hold in mind how factors such as race, culture, class, disability, and religion shape our inner lives and mental health.

I primarily work with clients who either identify as transgender or those working through their gender identity & sexuality.
I am an HCPC registered Clinical Psychologist, working in both private practice and academia. When offering therapy, I strive to be non-judgmental, compassionate and warm. I see therapy as a collaborative process, where both you and I come together to mutually agree on your goals for therapy. I take special care to be aware of the intersections in our identities such as gender, ethnicity, race, sexuality, neurodivergence and ability levels. I also value being receptive to your needs and aim to help you navigate any difficulties you are experiencing and come out the other side.

As a transgender woman with Autism and ADHD, when I was searching for a therapist I found it exceptionally difficult to find someone who understood the intersections of my identity.
My name is Jocelyn, I am a trans, AuDHD Psychosexual and Relationship Therapist, and a GSRD specialist. I frequently work with gender, non-monogamy, kink and neurodivergence within my therapeutic practice. I enable individual clients and intimate partners to create relationships with themselves, each other and with sex that they want, in a way that aligns with their identity. I also work with clients who are gender, sexuality, and relationally diverse (GSRD) and want to work with a therapist who is affirming of their identities. I hold both early morning time slots and evening slots.

Hi, I am Sana. I work with people carrying the quiet weight of modern life, whether that's burnout, workplace stress, or relationships that feel stuck or painful. I work primarily with individuals and couples, including the LGBTQ+ community, trying to understand themselves better. I explore various issues such as identity, relationships, or feelings they have never felt comfortable talking about before. For kids I support them with changing behaviours, ongoing anxiety, difficulty in school, sleep issues, etc.

Hello! I love therapy, sitting in either chair. As a therapist, I get to provide support and a kind, empathetic ear; I get to witness hard work, growth and passion from those taking their wellbeing into their hands, and I get to be myself. As a client, I've learned many things about myself, I've learned how to communicate, and overcome my own fears; it is these experiences that lead me to becoming a counsellor.

Transgender Counsellors
As a gender-diverse individual, why might I want to see a therapist who is also gender diverse?
A trans or gender-diverse client may want to see a therapist who is also trans or gender diverse because the client may feel safer sharing their experiences and more confident that the therapist will understand, validate, and support them. But trans or gender-diverse clients can also benefit from therapy with cisgender therapists; this is a personal decision based on the connection between the client and the therapist, and if that connection is strong, therapy will be successful.

What if I cannot find a therapist who shares my gender identity?
Therapy can still be effective if a therapist does not share a client’s gender identity; a large body of research indicates that the most important factor in successful therapy is the therapeutic alliance. A therapist can also be interviewed for sensitivity and competence on gender identity and expression to ensure they possess appropriate knowledge and skills. Many therapists have excellent training and extensive experience working with gender-diverse clients, and that expertise can be invaluable despite a therapist not sharing the same firsthand experiences.

How can I recognise a good therapist for working with gender-diverse clients?
An experienced therapist should be able to help clients explore their gender identity and expression, alleviate discomfort related to their gender identity, treat mental health challenges and trauma, address existing relationships and communication with family members and loved ones, and determine the next steps pertaining to nonmedical or medical gender-affirming interventions. To recognise a good therapist, clients can ask about these topics and explore their comfort and connection with the clinician.

How might I inquire about a therapist’s experience working with transgender clients?
Clients should feel comfortable asking therapists directly about their experience working with transgender or gender-diverse clientele. For example, clients may ask about the therapist’s training and education with regard to gender identity, how many trans clients they’ve worked with in the past, and what sorts of matters were discussed. You may wish to inquire how a therapist specifically supports the needs of transgender clients or clients questioning their gender identity. A good clinician who is nonetheless not the right fit for you is often happy to make referrals to others based on the concerns you articulate in a preliminary conversation.
