I specialise in working with people experiencing anxiety-related difficulties, including excessive worry, social anxiety, panic attacks, OCD, phobias, stress and low self-esteem.
I’m an accredited Cognitive Behavioural Therapist with over 10 years’ experience in mental health. I am also experienced in ACT and EMDR, tailoring therapy to you rather than using a one-size-fits-all approach. Together, we’ll explore patterns in your thoughts, emotions and behaviours, helping you feel calmer, more grounded and more confident in yourself.

I have experience of working with clients struggling with anxiety, stress, low self-esteem, depression and loss/bereavement.
My approach to counselling varies according to your individual needs; it is a collaborative process where you can explore and express your feelings and work towards better outcomes. Talking helps bring a clearer understanding of ourselves and situations we encounter. Navigating these alone can be difficult, I am here to listen and walk beside you.

We’re a team of experienced psychologists supporting women with anxiety, low mood, trauma, relationship struggles, life transitions and low self-esteem.
You might feel constantly anxious - tense, on edge, or caught in worry.
Or you might feel low, flat, and unsure how to find joy again.
Some women come to us feeling stuck in unhelpful patterns in relationships or worn down by people-pleasing or self-criticism. Others are processing trauma or navigating big life changes - from early motherhood to menopause - that have unsettled their confidence. However it shows up, the common thread is emotional overload whilst trying to hold it all together. If you're a woman who wants to feel calmer, more secure in yourself, and able to enjoy life without so much pressure, then we're here for you.

Together, we can set meaningful goals that build confidence and self-esteem.
You might be feeling overwhelmed, anxious, stuck, or like you’re no longer yourself. On the outside, life may look perfectly fine — but inside, you’re struggling, overthinking everything, or constantly battling self-doubt. Maybe anxiety and worry are stopping you from doing the things you want to do.
Perhaps you’re tired of feeling “not good enough” and wish for a space where you can be honest, listened to, and supported. You might want to quiet the negative thoughts about yourself, to move through your day without anxiety holding you back, or simply to relax and enjoy your time without that constant mental noise.

I have worked with clients with addictions depression, anxiety, low self-esteem, relationship problems, anger management, phobias, stress, emotional abuse, separation, and divorce.
At first, when I had counselling, I felt scared to be open to a stranger. It was daunting to share my innermost thoughts and feelings with someone I had never met before. However, as time went on, I came to realize the immense value of having a compassionate listener who could provide guidance and support without judgment.
Through my own journey in counselling , I discovered the transformative power of vulnerability and honesty. It helped me grow in ways I never imagined and equipped me with the tools to face life's challenges with resilience with the confidence from facing what was holding me back.

Dr Schreiber is a qualified clinical psychologist and psychodynamic psychotherapist with an interest in understanding emotional distress in the context of past and current life events and experiences in relationships.
As such, she understands distress as inter- and intrapersonal conflicts. Therapy can provide a space for these conflicts to be explored, understood and, hopefully, let go of.
Sociocultural and political context are important in making sense of distress; therefore, part of therapy can also be to explore autonomy, and where patients can have an impact on their lives, as well as the limitations to this.

Self Esteem Counsellors
When should a person seek therapy for low self-esteem?
When self-esteem problems begin to disrupt the healthy daily functioning of an individual, it may be a good time to look into therapy. If a person finds that they are not engaging with friends for fear of being judged, not completing work assignments because they don’t think they’re capable, or not finding romantic love because they don’t feel they’re worthy of it, a therapist may be able to help.
What are the signs of low self-esteem?
Low self-esteem is a common issue that can affect a person's mental and emotional well-being. Some common signs of low self-esteem include negative self-talk, perfectionism, social anxiety, difficulty making decisions, an inability to set boundaries, people-pleasing, and others. A lack of belief in oneself or one’s abilities and a feeling of not being worthy or deserving underlie most of these characteristics.
What causes low self-esteem?
Feelings of low self-worth can begin in childhood or adulthood. Being raised by a highly critical parent or growing up feeling constant disapproval can stay with a person well into adulthood. Specific issues in adulthood may also be a cause of low self-esteem. An unhappy relationship, a dysfunctional work or school experience can impact a person’s feelings of self-worth.
How can therapy improve self-esteem?
Therapists can help identify negative thought patterns that keep the client stuck in a loop of destructive self-talk and develop coping skills to change the voice in their head. A therapist can help with goal-setting, so that clients are better able to stay on task and build confidence from successfully completing work they’re proud of. Coaching a client on how to better communicate can improve relationships. These skills can result in someone with low self-esteem feeling empowered and living with less fear.
