I understand how daunting it can be seeking counselling and finding a counsellor who you can trust and be honest and open with. I aim to provide a professional, safe, confidential and non judgmental space in which you will be able to explore recent and long standing personal issues and to gain a greater understanding of your unhappiness and distress and find a way to manage this. My main priority is to make this a positive experience for you, and for the changes to be long standing.

I provide a space that is free of judgement, in which you feel safe enough to explore your thoughts, feelings, options and healing at your own pace. I have a masters degree in trauma and PTSD and I am also trained in the Rewind Technique, which means you do not have to tell me about the traumatic event if you don't want to, but you do have to think about it. My way of working is person-centred-based, but I do bring in other interventions like CBT, mindfulness, trauma-interventions and creative therapy. To see a list of other training I have done, please visit the About Me section on my website.

I help people who have been struggling with moderate/severe levels of stress, depression or anxiety so that you can quickly go from a place of fear, hopelessness and desperation to one of calm, relaxation and inner peace. The only problem is you've been treated poorly by past mental health professionals, tried a million things before which haven't worked and are starting to believe that you cannot be fixed... Unlike most traditional methods, the intensive holistic therapeutic programme (IHTP) targets all aspects of your life; past, present and future so that you can experience life truly free from mental illness - forever.

I am a Person-Centered counsellor (Person-center means, client led) who uses CBT and Solution Focused techniques where suitable. My background includes yoga, reiki, meditation, aromatherapy and mindfulness. This means I can offer an holistic approach to the therapeutic work. The relationship between myself and the client (you) is at the heart of ALL therapy. Counselling is about change, and change can be very difficult and scary to do. In fact, sometimes we actually don't know how to do it. With support from myself, we will explore your anxiety, concerns, behavior, beliefs and feelings.

I qualified in 2011 and since then I have undertaken specialist training in the areas of Trauma, Emotional Regulation and Sexuality related problems. Trauma can take many forms; you might be struggling with the impact of childhood sexual abuse and neglect. Alternatively, isolation and shame as a teen may have lead you to lose yourself in sex or porn addiction. Many of my clients have previous experience of therapy and are now seeking a therapist with specific knowledge and experience and a therapeutic approach that is focused.

Dissociative Disorders (DID) Counsellors
How does therapy for dissociative disorders work?
Dissociation may be triggered by stress or other upsetting circumstances, and therapy can address the traumatic events at the core of an individual’s dissociation. Understanding why a person may dissociate can help the therapist and the individual come up with alternative methods of coping. A person with a dissociative disorder may get stuck on negative thinking, for example, and treatment like cognitive behavioural therapy is a gold standard for breaking such thinking. And dialectical behaviour therapy, for example, can help a person manage their anguish through better emotion regulation.
Which therapies are best for dissociative disorders?
Specific approaches used by professionals include cognitive behavioural, dialectical behaviour, psychodynamic, schema therapies, among others. Cognitive behavioural and dialectical behaviour therapies are two widely used therapies that can help individuals with painful memories and past traumas. These therapies work to integrate an individual's different identities into one person.
Are there specific medications for dissociation?
There are no specific medications prescribed for dissociative disorders. However, psychosis, depression, anxiety, and/or panic often co-occur in dissociative disorders. A psychiatrist may prescribe medications for any accompanying symptom which may include antipsychotics, antidepressants, or anti-anxiety drugs.
How often and how long are therapy sessions?
Like any type of therapy, sessions depend on the individual. Patients may see improvement within 15 to 20 sessions, at an average of 50 minutes per session, others may opt for 20 to 30 sessions over, perhaps, a six-month period. There are still other patients, especially those who have co-occurring conditions like depression and anxiety, who may need to continue sessions for up to 12 to 18 months.
