I am a highly experienced Child Psychotherapist.
I use various ways of working with children and young people. Play, art, drama, music, sand tray & talking offer a variety of ways of expressing thoughts, worries, feelings and of working with them. I also work with parents and carers. Sometimes, a one or two session consultation can be effective in helping parents/carers explore solutions.

Therapy is a space to be heard, understood, and supported, especially when it’s hard to name what’s wrong but the impact is deeply felt. I offer a safe, compassionate environment to explore anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, life transitions, relationship challenges, health concerns, or adjusting to a diagnosis. I specialise in attachment-based therapy and nervous system regulation, informed by polyvagal theory, to help you heal relationships, build safety, and foster deeper connections. Together, we’ll work to help you move forward with greater clarity, balance, and resilience.

If you or your child would like to meet me briefly on the phone or on zoom to discuss your hopes for counselling, I offer a quick meeting free of charge.
I offer a safe space to reflect, make sense of your thoughts and feelings, and explore how past experiences may be shaping your present relationships, behaviours, and ways of coping. Together, we can begin to understand the unconscious dynamics that may be causing distress or holding you back, and consider what changes you could make that might make a difference. I work with young people and adults, and have particular experience with neurodiversity, physical disability, and LGBTQ+ identities.

Or you may be worried about your child and unsure how best to support them.
My work combines therapy and coaching so we can address past trauma, limiting beliefs and emotional patterns while also creating practical steps that support real change. I draw on evidence-based approaches including EMDR, CBT-informed therapy, biofeedback and neurofeedback where helpful. My team also provides therapy for children, families and adults.

I have MA in Dance Movement Psychotherapy (ADMPUK) and 10 years of clinical experience, where over 6 years Arts/ Playtherapist experience with children.
Do you sometimes feel limited by words? Dance Movement Psychotherapy (DMP) offers an alternative to talking therapies. As our bodies hold the unconscious aspects of ourselves, movement-based therapy can be particularly effective in addressing feelings held somatically in the body. Dance Movement Psychotherapists believe that changes in the body & movement patterns are reflected in the mind & thinking patterns and vice versa. DMP can help you feel more attuned to your body, support emotional regulation, reduce stress, improve confidence, and help to form a stronger sense of Self.

It's not always easy to reach out and ask for support. We often feel that we can manage on our own or don't want to bother anyone with our thoughts and feelings. It can be hard to find a balance between work, relationships, family & other commitments to prioritise yourself. No matter what brings you to therapy the most important part is the relationship we will share. I aim to ensure you feel heard & give you a space to work through anything you want to bring to help you have a greater insight & self-awareness and I will walk alongside you on this journey. Counselling isn't a one size fits all package it's as individual as you are.

Child Counsellors
Do I need to attend therapy with my child?
Parents are an integral part of a child’s therapy, but the specifics of their involvement vary. If your child is young, you may attend most or all sessions; if your child is older, you may attend a few sessions or none; sometimes a therapist may ask you to have a session on your own. Whatever the arrangement, you should expect to work collaboratively with the therapist, your child, and your family members to take steps to help support your child.

How long are sessions with child therapists?
Children’s therapy sessions can last 30 minutes, 45 minutes, or 60 minutes. The length of the session may depend on your child’s age and the type of therapy practiced. You can discuss this with therapists you consult and the one you ultimately move forward with.

How do I get a child to agree to seek therapy?
The best approach is to have an open-ended conversation with your child about how they’re doing and what they might be struggling with. When you raise therapy, discuss the concept in an age-appropriate way, for example explaining that a therapist’s job is to help kids handle their hard or uncomfortable feelings. Frame therapy positively, as an opportunity to explore and build emotional skills—it’s an important tool in the toolbox to help kids feel their best.

How can I tell if a therapist is a good fit for my child?
A child needs to feel comfortable opening up about their thoughts and feelings, so if your child feels a sense of comfort, ease, and trust with their therapist, that’s a great sign. In addition, a therapist is a good fit for your child if the two can communicate well together; a clinician should be able to communicate clearly, effectively, and in an age-appropriate manner.
