I have completed extra certificates in safeguarding adults and children, child and adult bereavement, grief and loss, pregnancy miscarriage and PND, trauma and PTSD, death and diversity, anger management, islamic psychology and counselling, depression and anxiety, and domestic violence and abuse.
It is rare to find someone who sincerely and genuinely cares, accepts us without judgement, or has true understanding empathy for us. People often tell us how we should feel or how they think we should deal with our situation, not theirs. Sometimes even with conditions, otherwise we face consequences. Thinking of what benefits them, not us. Looking at things from their perspective, not ours. This can lead to pressure to handle things in a way we do not want to and being in a place we do not want to be. Living an unhappy unfilled life where our feelings are ignored and unmet. Resulting in being in a very lonely isolated place.

We all have those times when things get on top of us; when we feel overwhelmed, anxious, depressed and unable to cope. We can feel stuck, trapped and that there’s no way forward. Perhaps work and the daily struggles of life are dragging you down? You’re feeling frazzled, stressed and anxious and can’t see a way out? Any one of these can take its toll on your self-confidence, we lose our mojo and everyday life just feels like an uphill struggle. Therapy can give you that much needed time and space to get a fresh perspective on what’s troubling and help you to find new ways of dealing with whatever life’s throwing at you right now.

Whether you're anxious,  burnt out experiencing loss or just need someone to talk to, you are accepted, just as you are with me.
I understand the importance of affirming spaces where identity is able to be explored but is always respected and celebrated. I also know the pressures of navigating demanding workplaces and workloads. I have an interest in working with those who are anxious, exploring their identity, neurodivergent, experiencing workplace stress/burnout or low self esteem.

I support adults facing challenges such as relationship difficulties, anger, anxiety, grief, loss, trauma, low self-esteem, family problems, stress, and burnout.
Many people come to therapy feeling caught in recurring relationship patterns that are difficult to shift. Conversations may escalate quickly, or there may be a growing sense of distance, frustration, or emotional disconnection over time. These experiences often feel confusing and isolating, especially when they seem to repeat in similar ways. I work with adults who experience cycles of relationship conflict, anger or anxiety, and want to better understand what is happening beneath the surface.

When it’s not always possible to chat to a friend or loved one about personal issues counselling can be really helpful. Using a warm and down to earth style my sessions will use techniques to help discover the underlying symptoms, using a non direct approach. This will allow us to explore any issues you have, develop ways to overcome them, and move forward positively at a pace that feels right for you. As a fully qualified therapist, I offer help if you suffer emotional from problems with low self esteem, relationships, work related stress, abuse, child related issues, abandonment, drug abuse and addiction, amongst many others.

Bereavement Counsellors
How long does therapy take for grief?
There is no exact timeline for grief counseling. Some people may start to feel better after just a few sessions, while others may take months or longer to feel relief. Some specific approaches, including some types of CBT, may involve a set number of sessions, or therapy may be open-ended until the patient determines they are ready to wrap up. Just as there is no right or wrong way to grieve, there is no right or wrong way to seek therapy for grief.

When should you seek therapy for grief?
Many people mistakenly believe that their grief needs to be debilitating or all-encompassing to warrant therapy. This is not the case. While people who experience severe, prolonged grief—particularly those who are considering self-harm or engaging in unhealthy substance use—are especially likely to benefit from therapy, so too are people whose grief is less intense but still interfering with well-being or daily functioning. In practice, almost anyone struggling to process a loss could benefit from grief counseling.

Can grief be managed without therapy?
Oftentimes, yes. Grief is a near-universal part of being human, and many find that their grief, while profound, does not stop them from participating in day-to-day life and steadily eases over time without outside help. For others, however, the harsh pain of early grief persists for months or years or leaves them unable to function. This group is especially likely to benefit from seeing a therapist, who can guide them through their grief and help them reconnect with the world.

What happens if grief is left untreated?
Because grief does not in itself necessitate therapy, untreated grief will often resolve on its own. However, for some people—particularly those who would qualify for a diagnosis of prolonged grief disorder—untreated grief can be a source of seemingly endless pain or lead them to withdraw from the world. In such cases, treatment can be indispensable, as it can help an individual adapt to the loss and start living again.
