Hello. I am a fully qualified, EMDR therapist, psychotherapist/counsellor & supervisor. I work with a wide range of difficulties. My specialism is working Intensively with trauma - this means offering multiple EMDR sessions over a short time period, working through, what traditionally can take months of therapy, in a much shorter time. I've worked in the NHS & private practice for over 20 years. I'm qualified & trained in different models of therapy, meaning that I adapt the way I work to suit individual needs. I'm passionate about psychological therapy having seen personally and professionally how powerful it can be.

Coming to therapy can be a difficult decision to make. When we are having difficulty in our lives our thinking can become unclear or unhelpful and we do things that we think might help in the short term, but can perhaps have a negative effect in the long term. This can result in becoming trapped in unhealthy cycles where you may also be experiencing unpleasant emotions. Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) can help to unravel the complex human thoughts and emotions that sometimes contribute to being less than at our best, and find new ways of thinking and being to move forward.

Are you navigating a period where life no longer feels familiar, after loss, separation, relocation, illness, or a major life transition? Perhaps you’ve been holding everything together for a long time, yet quietly feel unmoored, uncertain, or unlike yourself. You don’t have to face this period of change alone. I work with adults facing significant change who want a calm, thoughtful space to make sense of what has shifted. Many of the people I support are capable, reflective individuals who find themselves at an unexpected crossroads — grieving not only what has been lost, but questioning who they are now and how to move forward.

Most clients contact us with surface negative symptoms or challenges. Every client is totally unique, therefore our truly one-off, made-to-measure approach is needed and always provided. Most clients help us to slowly identify the real current trigger(s), creating the negative presenting symptoms or challenges. Finally, our last step in helping you gain a positive, confident and happier future, is to discover your deepest root causes, which created the very first trigger(s). To put it simply, our driving force from day one is to help you quickly ensure you gain much improved: thinking, feeling and behaviour.

You may be carrying something that feels too heavy or too confusing to put into words, grief that won't lift, anxiety that shadows everything, or a sense that old patterns keep repeating no matter how hard you try. Perhaps you've experienced trauma, loss, or a pain that others haven't fully understood. My clients are adults across the UK who are ready to look deeper, not for quick answers, but for real understanding. Many come with depression, trauma, complex grief, infant loss, or relationship difficulties. Some come from diverse cultural backgrounds navigating identity, belonging, and emotional pain. What they share is courage.

You might find yourself stuck in familiar patterns - giving more than you get, feeling unseen, or questioning if you're ever truly "enough". Maybe you keep things going on the outside, while inside you feel lonely and overwhelmed. Perhaps you're tired of feeling stuck in ways you can't explain, yet unsure how to shift it. These patterns often have deep roots in early experiences such as trauma, emotional neglect, inconsistent care, family issues, or growing up with violence or abuse. Even when there are no words, your body still remembers - this can lead to depression, anxiety, low self-esteem, stress, and relationship difficulties.

Often clients contact me when other therapy has not helped them in the way they had hoped. This is often due to the complexity of difficulties being layered perhaps in a history of trauma. Distress in the body and mind can be triggered by what appears to be something superficial. This can open up the past or come at a time when our emotional resilience is low so this event has a greater impact than it may have done. We can find ourselves not being able to function in our normal way. Many clients often identify as 'good copers' and those who 'just get on with it'. Perhaps we can't now - this is frightening and can derail us.

My work focuses on trauma, anxiety, stress, and the lasting effects of adversity across the lifespan. I am especially interested in how earlier experiences, attachment patterns, and current demands shape emotional wellbeing, relationships, and coping in the present. I offer psychologically informed, evidence-based support aimed not only at symptom relief, but at deeper understanding, resilience, and meaningful change.

I am a trauma-focused therapist working with adults who are experiencing ongoing emotional difficulties linked to past or recent trauma. Many of the people I work with have tried therapy before and are looking for something that feels more focused and effective. Alongside my private practice, I work within the NHS as a counsellor and EMDR therapist. My background includes specialist work in domestic abuse services, substance misuse, and sexual trauma, which has shaped a careful, trauma-informed approach to therapy.
