Life can be really tough sometimes. During difficult periods it can help to have someone to talk to, a different relationship to that of friends and family. I can offer a safe, confidential space offering a warm, empathic, supportive and non-judgemental environment for us to explore what’s going on for you. The trust and relationship that you have with your therapist is so important and will be the centre of our work together. I am an integrative counsellor trained in humanistic, behavioural and psychodynamic approaches. Working with these different modalities means that we can find the most suitable approach for you.

You might be feeling low, anxious, stuck in a rut in a relationship or at work or, alternatively, repeating the same old mistakes. You might have decided it's time to make sense of things that have happened in the past or wondering how to resolve a situation that's happening right now. Perhaps the version of yourself that you've been using to cope doesn't seem to fit anymore. Things might be feeling very distressing and overwhelming. You might be looking for clarity and a way forward or just to talk it through.

Many of the people I work with have been struggling quietly for a long time. They may appear fine on the outside while feeling anxious, exhausted, or deeply stuck underneath. Whether you are dealing with anxiety, depression, panic attacks, low self-esteem, bereavement, PTSD, or body dysmorphia, you do not have to keep carrying it alone. I work with adults and young people in a warm, private, and completely non-judgemental space. My priority from the very first session is that you feel safe, heard, and respected. I believe that a genuine, trusting therapeutic relationship is the foundation of all meaningful change.

Hello and Welcome, Life can indeed be difficult at times. Many are struggling with mental health in ways that are no longer manageable. Our past and present hurts, our unprocessed feelings can rise to the surface. We find ourselves thinking, feeling and acting in ways that do not reflect who we want to be. Some of us have Grief, Trauma or Addiction that we just can’t seem to work through. As a Senior Accredited Psychotherapist with a PHD(Hon), Master Degree and EMDR(Accredited), I've seen thousands come through my door, with various presenting issues and undergo genuine transformation, healing and leave with hope for the future.

I believe that every individual is an expert on themselves and that my role as your therapist is to help you feel confident and comfortable in that expertise. It is so common, now more than ever, for people to feel lost, to struggle with unresolved trauma, or to seek a deeper understanding of their life. Therapy can provide the safe space to enable an individual to explore these experiences and help to make sense of them.

You may have been feeling unlike yourself overwhelmed, disconnected, or carrying something you haven't yet found the words for. Perhaps it's anxiety, the weight of past experiences, or simply the exhaustion of holding everything together for too long. You don't need a diagnosis or a clear sense of where to begin. You may long to feel more at peace, more in control, or simply more like yourself. To understand how your past and relationships shape your present, or to breathe without needing to explain. Whatever matters most to you, that's where we begin.

I believe in people, and care about them deeply. I believe that everyone deserves an opportunity to explore and discover the version of themselves they are now, how they became that, and most importantly to bring out the version they want to become. I will hold your pieces for you, giving you the time and space to put them together in a way that feels safe for you.

Has a recent or past negative experience left you feeling lost or stuck? Maybe you’ve tried to just get on with life but inside you still feel broken, replaying events in your mind and asking yourself why or how this happened. Perhaps you know what happened to you was traumatic or maybe you’ve told yourself it “wasn’t that bad”. Some days you seem to feel all the emotions all at once, and other days you feel nothing at all. Other people simply don’t understand, which may leave you feeling alone and like you don’t matter. You are not alone and you do matter. You deserve freedom and peace from your past experiences.

I work solely online and have been doing so since 2020 with great effect. Feeling anxious, burnt out, or not quite yourself? You might feel overwhelmed, emotionally sensitive, or stuck in patterns that keep repeating. Perhaps things look fine on the outside, yet something still feels off — in your relationships, your work, or your sense of who you are. You may be navigating life with a different neurotype, or simply exhausted from carrying everything alone. Are you looking for a space where you can slow down, speak openly, and be truly heard — without needing to mask or explain yourself?

If you’re feeling anxious, having self esteem issues or suffering with feelings of depression, I can help. I work with people who are finding it harder to switch off, feel present in their relationships, or shake the sense that something’s missing. Maybe you’ve hit a wall with stress, burnout or low mood. Maybe things aren’t great at home and you’re not sure how to fix it. Or maybe you’ve just had that moment where you realise the version of success you were sold isn’t making you feel the way you thought it would. It’s a space where you can speak freely, without second-guessing yourself or needing to put on a front.

Is everyone in the Psychology Today Therapy Directory a licensed therapist?

Counsellors and Psychotherapists listed in the directory are members of the main professional associations, mainly the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and the UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP). Most Psychologists in the directory are accredited members of the British Psychological Society (BPS) and/or are registered in the Health and Care Professions Council (HPCP).

Providers whose professional membership or primary credential has been verified by Psychology Today are signified by a “Verified” symbol. Given that professional memberships are not a statutory requirement for psychotherapists and counsellors in the UK, certain qualified professionals or organisations may choose not to maintain such memberships despite possessing the necessary qualifications. They may be selectively included without the “Verified” seal.

What’s the difference between a psychologist, a therapist, and a counsellor?

Counsellors, psychotherapists and psychologists can all provide counselling or talking therapy and have credentials and experience that enable them to do so in the UK. Psychologists have earned a degree in psychology and many are members of the British Psychological Society (BPS) and have completed a postgraduate qualification in a specialism. Counsellors and Psychotherapists are not required to have a psychology degree, but to belong to a professional organisation such as the BACP or UKCP, they are required to have completed a training course as well as clinical and supervision hours.

What type of therapy is right for me?

The type of therapy best suited to a particular individual depends on several factors, including their primary reason for seeking therapy, their preferred timeline (some therapy types last for a set number of sessions, while others are open-ended), and their personality and preferences—some may prefer a more structured approach. For many individuals, multiple types of therapy could provide a good fit.

How much does therapy cost?

The cost of therapy depends on a number of variables, including location and the therapist’s experience and training. On average, a therapy session in the UK could be between £30 - £60 when seeing a counsellor and £60 - £150 and up when seeing a clinical psychologist. If you have private insurance, your plan may cover some if not all of your sessions. You should contact your insurance provider to determine if they provide coverage for therapy sessions and to determine what, if any, requirements they might have in order for your sessions to be covered, such as a referral from your GP or medical specialist.

What are more affordable or low cost therapy solutions?

Many therapists offer sliding scale payments, usually on a limited number of slots, which consists in an agreement between the therapist and a client to pay a reduced rate. Therapists who provide such arrangements often consider the client's income or ability to pay, but the extent of the discount is ultimately at the therapist's discretion. Furthermore, while group therapy may have different goals and benefits compared to individual therapy, it can be a more affordable solution to address certain types of issues.

If you are struggling to access therapy due to budget constraints, you could also consider public funded mental health services. The NHS Talking therapies programme offers free of charge counselling for common mental health problems like anxiety and depression. The service is available to anyone registered with a GP, though you do not necessarily need to be referred by your GP and can refer yourself directly to a Talking therapies service. The service will provide different solutions, including group and individual therapy, for a limited number of sessions which are generally up to six.

Is online therapy cheaper than in-person therapy?

Many therapists charge the same amount for online therapy as they do for in-person therapy—though clients may still find this cost-effective if it cuts down on their transportation costs. Health insurance plans often offer equivalent coverage for online and in-person therapy; indeed, in many places, they are legally required to do so. Text-based or on-demand therapy apps may be cheaper than traditional one-on-one psychotherapy; however, the practice may be less effective and is not likely to be covered by insurance.

Is online therapy a good option?

Therapy conducted online can be just as effective as in-person therapy, as long as there is a strong alliance between the client and the therapist. To find a therapist who provides telehealth services to clients in your area, click “Online Therapy” on the directory homepage and search by your city or town or your postcode.

Are therapy sessions confidential?

Therapists who are part of a professional organisation such as the BACP, the UKCP, or BPS are bound by an ethical framework that requires them to uphold a confidentiality agreement. Confidentiality is a crucial part of the therapeutic relationship and only under specific circumstances, such as when there has been participation in a criminal act or act of terror, or if there is potential or known harm to the client or others, will a therapist be obligated to break the agreement. These exceptions to the confidentiality agreement are usually discussed during the initial consultation.
