You may feel overwhelmed, unseen, or unsure how to make sense of your identity, past or present. Perhaps you’re LGBTQ+, neurodivergent, or carrying trauma. Maybe early experiences shaped how you see yourself, and you’re ready for that to change. You want someone who understands without judgment. You’re hoping to unmask, understand and share your emotions, heal old wounds, and grow into a steadier sense of who you are and what you want. Most of all, you’re longing for a safe, warm space where you can finally feel understood and supported.

Through open and honest dialogue I work with you to explore your inner world and uncover the root of your struggles, ultimately helping you to find new ways of being and relating to yourself and others. My approach is to create a safe and supportive space for you to explore your thoughts, feelings and experiences. Therapy is a process where we work together to uncover the underlying patterns and beliefs that may be holding you back. By fostering self-awareness and promoting self-acceptance I help you develop a deeper understanding of yourself and your relationships.

My clients often come to therapy after noticing a lack of motivation or feeling disconnected. They may feel overwhelmed by daily pressures, weighed down by anxiety, depression, or trauma, or left questioning their sense of self. Many describe feeling misunderstood, not fitting in, or never feeling “good enough.” I work with neurodivergent adults (ADHD, autism and AuDHD, diagnosed or exploring), and those navigating questions about identity, relationships, or sexuality. Together, we’ll create a safe space where you can process your past, understand yourself more deeply, and move through life with greater confidence and ease.

My counselling process is client focused and tailored. You and your personal journey are unique, therefore there is no "one size fits all" approach in my therapy space. Although I have had a long and varied education into counselling, psychology and social forces, I remain convinced by a fact that I learned on the first day of my degree... It is often not the method of counselling which predicts a benefit to our clients, but the relationship between client and practitioner. I prioritise building trust and a sense of safety that healing can bed into and thrive in.

Updated Feb 2026 - I have moved to a permanent space in Stokes Croft for in-person appointments and have some limited availability on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. I consider it a sign of bravery that you’re thinking about coming to see me for therapy. We all experience difficult and painful things in life and we all need other people to lean on, to help us through some of the more painful or challenging situations or to help us grow into kind, loving people. Working together, you'll move towards feeling better and showing up differently in the world. Together, life can get brighter.

I have particular experience working with compulsive sexual behaviour (sometimes called sex addiction), and I am polyamory-informed and kink-aware.
Welcome - I'm a psychosexual therapist offering a supportive and non-judgmental space to explore sexual and relationship concerns. I work, often with individuals, around issues such as mismatched desire, betrayals, difficulties with communication and connection, and navigating non-monogamy. I support clients with sexual challenges such as unreliable erections (erectile dysfuction), rapid ejaculation (premature ejaculation), delayed or absent ejaculation, low desire, and problematic porn use.

I am also kink-aware and sex positive.
Hello, I’m Rebecca. I will be by your side as you explore whatever you wish to share, accepting all parts of you and bringing all parts of myself. As a person-centred therapist I offer a space that is non-judgemental, open and supportive. I offer you space that is just for you, to have the time to be heard and express yourself. I'm passionate about social justice and embed this in my practice, curious about how your identities and life experiences are felt and perceived. It feels like a really hard time to be queer and/or trans at the moment, I'm here to hold you and have understanding and experience. You are welcome and accepted.

I'm sex positive, sex worker allied and have experience of kink dynamics.
I have found that interpersonal relationship issues often intersect with deeper themes, such as patterns of relating formed in childhood, feelings of anxiety or overwhelm, identity exploration, or a sense of being stuck. I aim to provide a safe, non-judgmental space where we can explore these interconnected areas together and work toward positive change.

Hi, thanks for visiting my profile. I am a counsellor and psychotherapist based in Bristol. You can see me either at my practice room in Clifton or on Zoom. I believe we all have the potential to live fulfilling, satisfying lives in connection with others and that even our most difficult experiences can still have meaning. For me, therapy is “the attempt to meet the depth of our wounds with an even greater depth of tenderness” (Dr Rick Hansen).

Discovering yourself and your true needs can feel truly freeing, but in a world full of discrimination you may be left feeling lost as to where to go next, with deep wounds and fears. Perhaps you are looking for someone to truly see you, to understand your unique experience that so often intersects with race, culture, physical ability, financial situation and other aspects of life. Perhaps you are looking for ways to reconnect with yourself and others in a way that feels more authentic to you.

Most of my clients are either neurodivergent (ADHD, Autism) and/or LGBTQIA+/GSRD (Gender, Sexuality and Relationship Diverse) but I welcome all to my practice. I work with children, teenagers and adults and can run sessions in English or Polish, online or in person (in Hove) or we can mix it up. It all depends on you and your needs/wants. I am anti-TERF and anti-SWERF and welcome you to drop me an email to say hello. We can then figure out if I'm the right fit for you and how we can work together.

Existential therapy with me can help you explore and make sense of things and find ways through your difficulties that are unique to you. Feel free to book a free consultation. Evening and lunchtime sessions available. Hello, I'm Matthew. Sometimes it can be too difficult to face things and attempting to escape them can cause more issues. I’ve been there, and I decided to train as a therapist and dedicate myself to helping other people who are struggling — I know that things can get so much better, no matter how bad they seem.

When life feels tough, for whatever reason that may be, having a confidential space to talk things through can really make a difference. I'm here to make that space as safe and welcoming as possible. As a person-centred counsellor, my aim is to develop a relationship between us built on trust, acceptance and understanding, and support you in exploring the things that are troubling you. I believe that through this kind of relationship it is possible to re-connect with the core of your being and begin to express yourself in ways that feel more authentic to who you really are. Once we know ourselves, change can begin to take place.

Sex-Positive, Kink Allied Counsellors
Why might an individual want to see a sex-positive, kink-allied therapist?
A sex-positive or kinky individual may want to see a sex-positive, kink-allied therapist because the client may feel safer and more supported discussing their experiences and challenges. A therapist who identifies as kink-friendly will have experience with clients having diverse sexual preferences and will likely be nonjudgmental and supportive about issues brought to the table. It is important to note that sex-positive, kink-allied individuals may find equal success with therapists who do not have such specialised knowledge and background. The most important factor in the success of therapy is for the client and practitioner to form a strong, trusting bond.

Do therapists have special training to gain expertise in sex-positive, kink-allied treatment?
Generally, no. There are limited training programs and unofficial accreditations that therapists can pursue, but a therapist’s expertise will ultimately come from their previous experience with similar clients, their engagement with organisations that promote sex positivity or kink-allied lifestyles, and the importance they place on safety and cultural sensitivity.

How can individuals recognise a good sex-positive, kink-allied therapist?
An experienced therapist is able to help clients explore their sexual identity and expression and relieve any discomfort or stigma attached to discussing such matters and the client’s overall challenges. A therapist who is sex-positive and kink-allied is able to create an environment that honors a client’s experience and sexual preferences. To recognise a good therapist, clients can simply ask directly about topics and issues important to them and gauge their comfort level and connection with a clinician based on the responses.

Can clients benefit from having a therapist with a focus on sex positivity and alternative sexual lifestyles?
Some individuals may feel most comfortable knowing that the clinician they’re working with has a commitment to creating an atmosphere of sex positivity and has experience with relationship diversity and alternative relationship structures. Working with a sex-positive, kink-allied therapist may help clients respect their own challenges and improve identity-affirming treatment.
