Hello and welcome. People often come to therapy when life feels overwhelming, when change is happening, or when familiar patterns keep pulling them into places of difficulty. Sometimes emotions feel too much to hold alone, or we sense that something within us is wanting to be heard. Beginning therapy can feel like a big step, but with the right support it can become a gentle and nourishing process.
I’m a senior trainee in Core Process Psychotherapy and offer a safe, non-judgemental space to explore your experience with present-moment awareness and a gentle attention to what is happening in your body.

It’s not easy to know where to begin when searching for a therapist. Initially we would talk through your challenges and hopes from therapy and then make a plan together. Over 20 years as an NHS therapist, I have found that talking and thinking with an experienced therapist, in a confidential therapeutic environment, can offer the possibility of developing new ways of thinking, understanding and insight into patterns of relating. Finding words for feelings and sharing them so that they can be better understood is a creative process. This act of self care creates a space for change in the present and also hope for the future.

You might be the woman everyone thinks is coping. On the outside, you seem put together, but inside you are second guessing yourself, overthinking everything and quietly wondering what is wrong. You've done the self work, yet the same emotional and relationship patterns keep repeating, leaving you drained from holding it all together. You may struggle with boundaries or carry the weight of endometriosis, fibroids or PMDD, appearing fine to others while feeling exhausted, overwhelmed, disconnected, frustrated or not enough, even when no one else can fully see it or understand how much you are holding alone each day.

EMDR and trauma-focused work help process what still feels raw; attachment and psychodynamic thinking make sense of old patterns; CBT brings clarity to unhelpful thoughts; and somatic and mindfulness practice settle an overstretched nervous system.
A calm online space for exhausted professional women to put it all down and come back to themselves.
You hold everything together. You're the one who remembers, plans, anticipates and smooths things over — competent on the outside, quietly exhausted underneath. The emotional labour rarely stops, and somewhere along the way you stopped feeling like yourself.
Often there's more underneath — old relationship patterns, a difficult or controlling past, a nervous system stuck on high alert. You don't need to be fixed. You need somewhere safe to finally set it down, and a steady hand to help you find your way back.

My work centres on understanding the emotional meaning behind behaviour, particularly when feelings are complex, overwhelming, or difficult to express. I am especially interested in how early experiences, relationships, and neurodiversity shape a child or young person’s inner world and sense of self. I bring extensive experience of working with neurodiverse children and young people, as well as those supported by CAMHS and in specialist, mainstream, and independent educational settings. This breadth of experience informs a thoughtful, reflective approach, attuned to each young person’s individual developmental and emotional needs.

We can all struggle and sometimes it's difficult to stop and notice what’s not working for us. We can fall into repeating cycles of damaging or unhelpful habits, behaviors, and relationships. We can hold a negative belief system about ourselves which impacts our confidence and forms low self esteem. So if you feel like you’re surviving, not thriving; if you're feeling anxious & have low mood / depression; if you're having intrusive thoughts or wondering if you're experiencing OCD; if you're finding your work or home life stressful; if you’re dealing with family or relationship issues; if you're just not happy...I can help!

Is psychodynamic therapy evidence-based?
Studies have found psychodynamic therapy to be effective in treating conditions like social anxiety, eating disorders, chronic pain, some personality disorders, and depression; indeed, some studies have found it to be just as effective as CBT or medication. What’s more, several studies have found that the benefits of psychodynamic therapy tend to endure—even grow—long after treatment has ended.
How long does psychodynamic therapy last?
Unlike CBT and other more structured forms of therapy, psychodynamic therapy tends to be open-ended and may not be limited to a set number of sessions. It is common for clients to be in therapy for a year or longer and to see their therapist one to three times a week, though the exact schedule and timeline may vary depending on a client’s challenges and progress. However, brief psychodynamic therapy is available, which tends to be more goal-oriented and typically unfolds over 16 to 30 sessions.
Does psychodynamic therapy work?
Research finds that psychodynamic therapy can help someone manage or reduce symptoms of diagnosable mental health conditions like depression or anxiety. The modality may also offer a range of benefits that are harder to measure but just as valuable—such as increased self-worth or healthier relationships. While no therapy type will work for everyone, research and anecdotal evidence suggest that psychodynamic therapy can be highly effective.
What are the limitations of psychodynamic therapy?
Some meta-analyses have concluded that there is little evidence to suggest that psychodynamic therapy can effectively treat certain mental health conditions such as PTSD, OCD, or psychosis, though it is sometimes used to do so. More broadly, the open-ended, free-association structure of psychodynamic therapy may be frustrating for clients who prefer a more structured, time-limited, or goal-oriented approach.
