Are you feeling overwhelmed by anxiety, OCD, stress, relationship difficulties, loss or changes in your life?
I have particular experience working with anxiety, OCD (including intrusive thoughts and what is sometimes called Pure O), bereavement and loss. I draw on CBT, ERP, EMDR and other therapeutic approaches, adapting our work to the person in front of me. I don't believe people fit neatly into one model; understanding you is where we begin.

My work looks at how early attachment shapes thinking, feelings and relationships.
I shape the work around you. We slow things down and make sense of what’s been happening in your life. Together, we explore how your thoughts, feelings and behaviours connect, how patterns formed, and how you have coped, even when those ways of coping no longer serve you. Together, we can begin to notice what still fits and what no longer does.

I help busy mums reduce anxiety, manage low mood, navigate relationship stress, and feel more connected to themselves and their families.
I help busy mums who feel anxious, overwhelmed, and stuck to reconnect with themselves, so they can show up for their families without losing who they are. You’re exhausted, emotionally drained, and constantly wondering if you’re doing enough. On the outside, you seem fine—but inside, you’re struggling. You love your family, but you’ve lost parts of yourself and don’t know how to get them back.

Perhaps you struggle with self-criticism, procrastination, relationship difficulties, or a persistent sense of falling short.
My aim is to help you develop greater awareness of the beliefs, emotions, and habitual ways of relating that shape your experience. I have worked in the public, charity and private sectors with individuals, couples, families and groups.
I practice under an integrative approach which means I draw from a variety of models and techniques of counselling and psychotherapy to ensure that anyone who comes to see me has the opportunity to be met and understood as a unique individual. I provide a safe, contained and confidential space, where you can explore your unique issues, providing a non-judgemental and supportive space for you to work at your own pace. The principal goal in therapy is to assist in the learning of trusting in your own process, which gives way to self-empowerment and the ability to make choices from a deeper part of yourself.

I support individuals, couples, siblings, family members, colleagues and friends, not because I specialise only in “ relationships,” but because everything we live is relational.
How you feel about yourself shapes how you move through work, family life, friendships, and intimacy. How you see yourself is often influenced by the way you navigated childhood, adolescence, and the twists and turns that followed. So this is where we begin: You come as you are, and together we work towards releasing what behaviours no longer serve you.

FAQ - About Couples Therapy
Does couples counseling work?
Research shows that couples counseling is effective; it can reduce relationship distress and improve emotional awareness, communication, empathy, intimacy, and overall relationship satisfaction. For example, emotionally focused therapy was found to be effective for about 75 percent of couples, and those benefits lasted at least two years.

When should a couple seek counseling?
Couples can benefit from counseling if they consistently struggle in their relationship. They may have lost the ability to communicate effectively, become entrenched in harmful patterns, begun to fight more than usual, broken the other’s trust, suffered from a mental or physical illness, or faced any number of other challenges. Many therapists offer free consultations, so if a couple isn’t sure whether therapy is necessary, asking directly can provide clarity.

How can I get my partner to go to couples therapy?
The decision to seek couples therapy is often driven by one partner, who then convinces the other to participate. When discussing the idea, the initiator should be direct and assertive. They can state the problems they see and explain how the relationship would benefit from therapy. In more serious cases, they can also explain how their relationship may suffer without making any changes or seeking professional help.

How does a couple prepare for couples counseling?
The anticipation of beginning couples counseling can be difficult—sometimes more difficult than the first session itself. Taking a few moments to reflect can allay those concerns: What are the current challenges? When and how did they begin? What do they want the relationship to look like in the future? Reflecting on these questions can help individuals or couples articulate their goals. Of course, the therapist will also ask questions and guide couples through the process.
