I support adults experiencing anxiety, low mood, addictions, low self-esteem, trauma, sexual abuse, relationship issues, neurodiversity challenges, and those caring for a loved one with dementia.
Are you feeling sad, lost, or overwhelmed? You might be facing relationship issues, a traumatic experience, or simply feel low without knowing why. It’s not always easy to carry these feelings alone. You may be looking for a space where you can talk openly and honestly, without judgment. My own experience of being in therapy showed me the power of feeling truly heard and accepted. That experience deeply informs how I work—with empathy, authenticity, and a commitment to creating a safe, respectful space.

Life’s pressures can feel overwhelming, and relationships may leave us confused or stuck. Anxiety, stress, or living with ADHD can add extra strain. Talking things through can bring clarity and ease the load. Together, we’ll explore what’s happening for you and find a way forward that feels right.

With over a decade of experience in the mental health I am a compassionate and dedicated counsellor specializing in narcissistic abuse, trauma, anxiety, and depression.
My role within the therapeutic relationship is to work alongside an individual to facilitate self-exploration. To aid deeper exploration I offer the use of clay, painting, and sandtray. This can be helpful to access parts of the psyche that talking doesn't always reach, and can be effective and enlightening for Adults and children.

Stress and anxiety are probably starting to run high and you might be feeling down or simply "stuck".
Dealing with big changes or conflicts around your relationships, work, family and day-to-day life itself can be hard, and counselling can allow you to pause for a minute, take a breath, talk it out and be properly heard. Having that opportunity to put you first, allowing yourself both the physical and mental space to find the answers can be transformative.

We all go through difficulties at times and sometimes can feel out of our depth and in need of a helping hand. I believe our past experiences can shape how we feel and respond in any given situation and can keep us trapped in negative cycles and unsure of a way out. I want to help you overcome these difficulties and find a way forward to start reaching your goals. Please do not feel you have to go through this alone or that things can’t change. Let’s work together to see how we can understand things and make things better for the future. I have worked in a variety of settings including NHS, private and hospitals for over 10 years.

I work with but am not exclusive to - OCD and anxiety disorders via CBT (Exposure and Response Prevention), people in any addiction recovery, or those thinking of entering addiction recovery, trauma and problematic long term relationships and codependency.
I am happy to see clients on a short term basis (where I would normally work with the CBT model) or for longer where we can spend time looking at deeper issues and belief systems. I know the strategies that have worked for me, and I am passionate about being able to deliver these techniques to you, so that you can live a happier and more fulfilled life.

When should I seek treatment for anxiety?
Everyone feels anxious at times, but when anxiety causes disruption to your daily life, it may be time to seek help. Such disruption can be mental, physical, or both: having fear dominate your thoughts, avoiding situations or objects that bring on feelings of anxiety, or experiencing shortness of breath, sweating, dizziness, or panic attacks. When these symptoms are recurrent and distressing, it may be time to talk to someone.
What are the most common types of treatment for anxiety?
Talk therapy, particularly cognitive behavioural therapy, is the most common treatment for anxiety. Studies have shown it is equally effective as medication. Other forms of therapy are popular, depending on a patient’s experience. Exposure therapy, for instance, can be useful for people dealing with fears and phobias, or who have experienced traumatic events. Dialectical Behavioural Therapy may be useful for patients who need help with emotion regulation. Anxiolytic medications, like benzodiazepines, can also help with calming a person enough to focus on the skills they’ve learned, and physical exercise has been shown to help symptoms of anxiety across the board.
How long does therapy for anxiety take to work?
The amount of time needed to alleviate symptoms depends on the severity of a person’s condition. Some therapies may take 5-20 weekly sessions to show results. Anti-depressant medications typically take two to four weeks before a benefit is felt. Anti-anxiety medications are felt typically within 20-30 minutes. Medications are best used to offer a patient a better headspace in which to work on techniques learned in therapy. Exercise, improved sleep habits, and meditation are effective, but takes weeks or months to show results.
How effective is treatment for anxiety?
Treatment for anxiety has been shown to be moderately to highly effective, according to a large body of psychology studies and analyses. For some people, treatment using CBT or exposure therapy alone is effective. Others respond best to a combination of medication and therapy.
