Hi, I’m Flora, an accredited Integrative Counsellor and Psychotherapist. I specialise in relationship with self and boundaries, parenthood and family dynamics, bereavement, uprooting and relocation, and life transitions. I understand that life can sometimes feel deeply lonely — no one experiences things exactly as we do. In therapy, I seek to understand your experiences as they genuinely feel to you, to ease the pain of loneliness, offer gentle insight into how past experiences may shape your patterns of feeling, acting, and relating, and explore the possibility of change and growth together.

Hi, I'm Emma, an integrative, person centred psychotherapist. Coming from a background in peri-nataI mental health I'm passionate about working with themes connected to the family such as birth trauma, generational trauma, childhood trauma, attachment issues, low self esteem, late autism/ADHD diagnosis, fertility issues and baby loss. This involves working with mind and body to rediscover a sense of your true authentic self, to find understanding and identify patterns of behaviour or obstacles preventing you from being the best version of yourself. Collaboratively this could result in an acceptance of self and deeper connections.

With compassion, guided exploration and somatic tools, you can find your way through.
I work with people struggling with anxiety, overwhelm and depression, often rooted in trauma, relational challenges, life transitions and losses, or neurodivergent identity. Anxiety can make you feel afraid or in danger constantly, hypervigilant and not trusting others or your own instincts. It can impact your confidence, self-talk and the relationships you have. If it feels like it’s holding you back from living the life you want to live, or being the person you know you can be, starting therapy is a great step.

Are you looking for a calm, confidential space where you don’t have to hold it all together. A place to reflect, be heard, and reconnect with your emotions, seek clarity, and understand yourself. You may appear capable, composed, and dependable, someone others rely on, but inside, you feel stretched, anxious, or disconnected. Perhaps you’re managing intense work or personal pressures, navigating difficult relationships, or carrying the impact of earlier experiences or trauma. Are you struggling with depression, low confidence, overthinking, or burnout. Despite functioning outwardly, something doesn’t feel right internally.

I'm Helen & I'm an Accredited Integrative Psychotherapist & Counsellor. I know that it takes a huge amount of courage to seek out counselling. I recognise that & will provide an authentic, non judgemental approach to exploring whatever it is you might bring to therapy. An integrated approach means I draw on a number of specific therapies that can treat each client in a variety of situations, rather than having a single approach. I believe a therapeutic relationship & trust are of key importance in therapy work & have a down to earth, but highly compassionate approach, often taking a trauma informed approach to counselling.

We all want to be the best versions of ourselves but sometimes we need support to get through difficult life experiences. Such times can take us away from living the way we truly want to live. In individual sessions, we can share a calm and confidential space where exploring challenges can lead to a deeper understanding of ourselves and our relationships. Together, we can find ways to make the changes that will impact life going forward. With couples, we will help to shift from unhelpful patterns of poor communication and entrenched behaviours, to create emotional safety and move towards mutual trust & understanding.

Somatic Counsellors
How does somatic therapy work?
Somatic therapy is a form of treatment that focuses on how the body and mind are interconnected. In this approach, physical symptoms are addressed because they may in fact signal emotional distress. Somatic therapists combine mindfulness, talk therapy, breathwork, yoga, dance, and physical manipulations of the body to help patients become more attuned to what their body is telling them.

Is EMDR a somatic therapy?
EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is a form of somatic therapy, as it incorporates mental and physical principles. EMDR involves remembering a traumatic experience while allowing one’s eyes to track a side-to-side visual stimulus from a therapist. This lateral eye movement is believed to diminish the painful power of the memory so that it can be discussed with a therapist.

Is somatic therapy evidence-based?
Somatic therapy has been researched and studied, and some forms of somatic therapy are found to be effective in treating a wide range of conditions. Because somatic therapy encompasses many techniques, some, such as EMDR and meditation, have been studied more than others.

What is somatic trauma therapy?
Somatic trauma therapy is based on the idea that when people experience trauma, they can become stuck in the “freeze” part of a “fight, flight, or freeze” response. In this state, trauma can manifest itself both mentally and physically—through tension in the muscles, anxiety, and stress. Popular forms of somatic trauma therapy include EMDR, sensorimotor therapy, and somatic experiencing.
