The majority of my clients are neurodivergent and/or queer and want to explore what that means for them with someone who understands. Are you living with anxiety, emotional overwhelm, or the impact of past experiences that still affect how safe you feel in relationships? Maybe you struggle with self-esteem, overthinking, trauma responses, or patterns linked to neurodivergence such as burnout or masking? Some clients come questioning their identity, sexuality, or sense of self; others feel stuck using coping behaviours that no longer help. You don’t need a diagnosis, just the sense that something needs understanding.

I can work with children who have ASD, ADHD and other diagnosis.
Sometimes strong emotions such as anger, sadness and anxiety can leave children feeling overwhelmed. This can lead them to become withdrawn, have difficulties at school and in friendships, or show their feelings in behaviours which are unhelpful. Psychotherapy can help your child to put their feelings into words and help them to express themselves in a different way. They will have access to a confidential space in which they can explore what is causing their distress and, by understanding themselves better, they can have better relationships with their family and friends and begin to build their confidence.

I support women who identify as neurodivergent whether formally diagnosed or self identifying including Autism, ADHD and AuDHD.
My clients are women who feel anxious, frustrated and lost. The ability to cope with life events has reduced. As a NCPS- registered therapeutic counsellor in Bromley, I provide a space to vent, scream and cry at the world. My practice integrates traditional talking therapy, walk and talk therapy, somatic coping strategies like breathe work and finding practical coping strategies to support you in making positive changes that are realistic to implement. I have a wealth of experience in helping people to improve their mental and emotional wellbeing. As a clinical psychologist I value the therapeutic relationship and think that it is vital to find a therapist you 'click' with. My personable, warm and empathetic nature has helped many people to overcome the difficulties holding them back in life. I create a relaxed, safe, open and confidential listening space and work with individuals to build an understanding of how their current difficulties emerged, what is perpetuating these difficulties, and to develop alternative coping strategies. I adopt a holistic, supportive and person-centred approach and believe in the importance of a therapeutic relationship. Occasionally, traditional 'talk' therapy can be intimidating for some young people, so where appropriate, l might invite more creative methods such as photographs, drawings, activities and games to help the young person relax and start to explore their worries. Hello, I'm Penny. I am an accredited BAPT Play Therapist based in Sevenoaks. I somehow (!) have over 15 years of experience working with children and families, often during the most vulnerable times in their lives.
Before training as a Play Therapist, I worked as a Social Worker — a job I adored. However, I often wished I had more opportunities to truly sit alongside the children I supported and be part of their healing journeys. That’s exactly what I believe play therapy offers.
Play therapy isn’t something you do — it’s a way of being. I wholeheartedly believe in its power and the positive impact it can have on all children.

We all experience difficult times in our lives and it can sometimes be difficult to cope on our own. Issues such as, anxiety, low mood, neurodiversity, family or school issues, bereavement, bullying, low self esteem and many more. During these times we could benefit from talking to a counsellor. I am BACP accredited with nineteen years experience working as a qualified psychotherapist and counsellor. During this time I have built two successful private counselling practices in East Grinstead, which I have recently expanded and now offer counselling to young people in Sevenoaks.

When should I seek treatment for ADHD?
You should seek treatment for ADHD if you consistently have difficulty with attention, hyperactivity, or impulsivity that interferes with your daily life. Symptoms of ADHD include the inability to sustain attention during tasks, difficulty organizing tasks and activities, being easily distracted, frequent fidgeting or squirming, and talking or interrupting excessively. If these symptoms interfere with your career, academics, or relationships—for example, consistently failing to complete professional projects on time—you should seek an evaluation for ADHD.
How does treatment for ADHD work?
Effective treatment for ADHD often consists of medication, behavioural therapy, and lifestyle changes. Stimulant medications such as Adderall and Ritalin work by altering levels of neurotransmitters in the brain; higher levels of dopamine and norepinephrine are known to improve attention and focus. Therapy works by helping people with ADHD understand the condition, discuss their areas of difficulty, and develop behavioral strategies to manage their symptoms. In some cases, modifying one’s diet and exercise can also help improve symptoms.
How long does treatment for ADHD take?
It’s tough to give an exact time frame because everyone varies. In terms of medications, stimulants begin to work very soon after you take them, generally within the hour. It may take time to identify the right medication and dosage, but the medication itself is fast-acting. In terms of therapy, it takes time to develop skills and put them into practice, but you will likely see improvements within a few weeks or months.
