Has your child received an autism diagnosis or are you waiting for an assessment? Are you feeling unsure what to do next and struggling to find support? Is your child experiencing high levels of anxiety, overwhelm, melt downs or challenging behaviour? An autism diagnosis is the beginning. There is so much information but no one to guide you through it all. You do your best everyday but sometimes it just feels like it is not enough. Family and friends try to understand, school try to help but don’t always get it right. You may feel alone, isolated and lonely, unsure who to trust and where to turn.

I work gently and compassionately, with individuals/couples, struggling with difficult or painful feelings, managing their emotions, and struggling to enjoy life. Communication is often an issue, as are feelings of unfairness or difficulty forming good, lasting relationships. Issues may involve partners, parents, past traumas, or inner conflict making decisions difficult. They may involve issues at work with colleagues, management or relationships. When working with couples the issues are often about unfulfilled expectations, infidelity, lack of commitment/affection, insecurity, lack of empathy, or experiences of coercion or control

I'm a humanistic integrative counsellor. I believe that we all experience the world differently and, given the right conditions, we can empower ourselves by finding the answers within. I support people struggling with issues like anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, bereavement, past trauma, trans-generational trauma and feelings of shame or low self-worth. I also have a particular interest in working with those who’ve suffered as a result of their historical boarding school experience.

If you're struggling, the most important thing I hope you to feel in my practice is safe, safe to explore your feelings and experiences so that together we can help establish a way forward. Please note that occasional responses to enquiries can land in your email's "junk" or "spam" folder. If you are waiting for a reply, please check there. I aim to respond to all enquiries within three working days.

Life can be overwhelming at times, and these days we don’t take a breath to sort out what’s going on before we're facing the next battle. We end up dissatisfied, anxious, low, not sure what’s going on or where to go next and what to do. Stuck in jobs, relationships and feeling like our emotions are getting to much and too big. Sometimes we’ve picked up unhelpful behaviours and habits along the way that are causing us to worry.

I have successfully supported individuals through a variety of concerns including relationship/family/work, anxiety, depression, addictions, loss and bereavement. You may be looking for a therapist to address a specific issue, perhaps an experience from the past that is impacting you now, or there may be a general feeling that something is not quite right. Many people find talking with someone, in confidence, helps them discover who they are and helps them make informed, self-loving and kinder choices. Therapy can help you discover the real you, creating awareness, acknowledging and dealing with repressed feelings and getting in touch with your innate self-worth. Which, in turn, promotes personal autonomy and the resilience to deal with life's challenges.

Obsessive-Compulsive (OCD) Counsellors
Obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) is an anxiety disorder in which people have unwanted and repeated thoughts, feelings, ideas, sensations (obsessions), or behaviours that make them feel driven to do something (compulsions). It affects children, kids, teens and adults. Often the person carries out the behaviours to get rid of the obsessive thoughts, but this only provides temporary relief. Not performing the obsessive rituals can cause great anxiety. A person's level of OCD can be anywhere from mild to severe, but if severe and left untreated, it can destroy a person's capacity to function at work, at school or even to lead a comfortable existence in the home.
