Life changes, loss and the ongoing pressure of keeping everything going can leave you feeling stuck, lost, anxious or unsure of who you are anymore.
I offer counselling with the option to include hypnotherapy when it suits your way of working. I help you slow down, understand what’s going on beneath the surface and make sense of the feelings that feel tangled or heavy. We’ll work at your pace, building insight, easing anxiety and helping you feel more grounded and connected to yourself.

As an Integrative, Trauma Informed and EMDR therapist, I work with trauma processing, anxiety, depression, sexual abuse, bereavement and loss.
Sometimes life throws us challenges both through past and present experiences, which knock us off our feet and we become engulfed in uncertainty, worry and fear. It could be that we start to doubt ourselves and feel that we are not good enough or we are unable to cope, leading to anxiety and depression. Whatever you are going through, it deserves care, attention and compassion. You may be struggling to make meaning of what is going on around as you navigate life changes or have experienced traumatic events that you need some relief from. Whatever you are going through, I hope to help.

I work with wide range of issues, including anxiety, depression, relationship trauma, grief, health anxiety, female health and male self-esteem.
You may be noticing a sense of feeling overwhelmed, stuck or disconnected, and wondering where to turn next. Perhaps anxiety, low mood, relationship issues, or the echoes of past experiences are present. You may have been holding on to the past for sometime. You might be seeking a gentle, supportive space where you can feel truly heard and accepted, without judgement. In time, you hope to understand yourself more deeply, find greater emotional balance, and move forward with increased self-compassion and confidence, in a way that feels authentic to you.

Think of me as someone you can talk to about anything—whether you’re feeling stressed, stuck, overwhelmed, or just need to vent. Many of my clients come to therapy feeling like “technically nothing is wrong in my life, but I’m just not happy. Is this really it?” You might be feeling anxious about the future, unhappy in your relationship, or waiting for a partner to change and realising it’s not happening. Perhaps you’re considering ending your marriage or making a big life change, but the fear of being alone or starting over feels overwhelming. These struggles can leave you feeling anxious, suffocated, taken for granted.

I am an integrative psychotherapist. I hold a degree in psychology and a person-centred counselling diploma, along with specialised training in polyvagal theory (nervous system regulation). Emotional wounds can have a powerful impact on our minds and physical bodies. Emotions not only impact the way we think and perceive things but can also manifest physically through symptoms such as anxiety, fatigue, heart palpitations, headaches etc. Sometimes we need support to overcome, move forward and heal from these difficult parts of journey. By addressing and becoming aware of our issues I can focus on creating conditions of growth

Self-criticism can feel like it’s on a painful, repeating loop. You might find you are telling yourself that you are not good enough, or boring, ugly or fat. Far from motivating you, it’s my belief that punishing yourself in this way actually limits your choices and actions and keeps you stuck. Quite simply, talking to yourself in a mean way doesn’t get you anywhere. Talking to another person, and opening up about this habit can really help.

In the maze of life's unexpected challenges, I commend your courage in seeking support. I often liken our struggles to a bag of jigsaw puzzle pieces; in counseling, we empty these pieces onto the table and begin turning them right side up. Together, we navigate this intricate puzzle, allowing you to choose which piece to tackle first. It would be my privilege to accompany you on this journey of self-discovery, offering guidance and support as you unravel the mysteries of your life's puzzle.

Many people find it helpful when faced with difficult stages in their normal life cycle such as career changes, loss and bereavement or crisis points in relationships.
With my brother diagnosed with paranoid schizophrenia nearly 30 years ago, I have personal experience of the family sacrifices and struggles related to the pain and stigma of mental illness. Having since, committing my life to the improvement of people’s emotional fitness and mental resilience, with support from organisations such as SANE and MIND, my own journey has allowed me to discover the true benefits of therapy first-hand. Personal therapy is proving invaluable for people to manage certain difficult or crisis situations in their lives and so transform their problems into major opportunities for personal growth.

Hi and thank you for visiting my profile. Opening up can be hard, I feel it is better to share a problem than to deal with it yourself. I enjoy helping people make sense of their experiences and finding different ways of living. I value hearing each person's story and helping you to find inner calm, clarity and understanding.

How long does therapy take for grief?

There is no exact timeline for grief counseling. Some people may start to feel better after just a few sessions, while others may take months or longer to feel relief. Some specific approaches, including some types of CBT, may involve a set number of sessions, or therapy may be open-ended until the patient determines they are ready to wrap up. Just as there is no right or wrong way to grieve, there is no right or wrong way to seek therapy for grief.

When should you seek therapy for grief?

Many people mistakenly believe that their grief needs to be debilitating or all-encompassing to warrant therapy. This is not the case. While people who experience severe, prolonged grief—particularly those who are considering self-harm or engaging in unhealthy substance use—are especially likely to benefit from therapy, so too are people whose grief is less intense but still interfering with well-being or daily functioning. In practice, almost anyone struggling to process a loss could benefit from grief counseling.

Can grief be managed without therapy?

Oftentimes, yes. Grief is a near-universal part of being human, and many find that their grief, while profound, does not stop them from participating in day-to-day life and steadily eases over time without outside help. For others, however, the harsh pain of early grief persists for months or years or leaves them unable to function. This group is especially likely to benefit from seeing a therapist, who can guide them through their grief and help them reconnect with the world.

What happens if grief is left untreated?

Because grief does not in itself necessitate therapy, untreated grief will often resolve on its own. However, for some people—particularly those who would qualify for a diagnosis of prolonged grief disorder—untreated grief can be a source of seemingly endless pain or lead them to withdraw from the world. In such cases, treatment can be indispensable, as it can help an individual adapt to the loss and start living again.
