Welcome, I'm Rose. You may have arrived here as you are feeling unsure of yourself, doubting your abilities, or quietly believing you’re "not enough". This may be a recent or longstanding sensation and feels like carrying an invisible weight. Anxiety, low self-esteem, or life changes (perhaps navigating your menopause transition) can affect your relationship with yourself and others, work, studying, public performances or how you go about your day. You want to feel more confident, reconnect with your true self, express yourself freely (without fear of judgement) and move through life with clarity, self-belief, and ease.

As a psychodynamic counsellor and hypnotherapist, my approach to working with clients is rooted in psychodynamic theory, which emphasises the exploration of unconscious processes and the influence of past experiences on a person's current thoughts, feelings, and actions. Here's a general outline of how I work with my clients: I shall meet with you, listen to you and together with you establish our therapeutic relationship.A safe and trusting working relationship. Once we have this we shall be ready to start exploring deep and often sensitive issues. I shall help you explore your unconscious thoughts, feelings, and conflicts.

Hi, I hope your search for a therapist is going well. It can be a difficult process, but it is important to find a therapist who feels right for you. The relationship with your therapist is, on average, more helpful than their training and experience. Person-centred therapy is a relationship. It is not dependent on medical diagnoses, yet can help with all conditions. It is well proven to be as effective as other leading therapies, but uniquely it puts the client at the centre of the process. There is no 'you have x or y' or 'you should do this'. The right questions, and answers, will come from within in our conversations.

Above all I work with kindness, acceptance and understanding - successful therapy always depends upon a partnership between you and me, both/all of us working purposefully together to solve the issues that are in your way - let's face it, there is simply not enough of those three qualities around these days. It is never a failure to reach out for help - never. It takes courage. So please reach out: I promise to take your hand, keep you safe, and together we'll walk the path to better days.

How long does therapy take for grief?
There is no exact timeline for grief counseling. Some people may start to feel better after just a few sessions, while others may take months or longer to feel relief. Some specific approaches, including some types of CBT, may involve a set number of sessions, or therapy may be open-ended until the patient determines they are ready to wrap up. Just as there is no right or wrong way to grieve, there is no right or wrong way to seek therapy for grief.
When should you seek therapy for grief?
Many people mistakenly believe that their grief needs to be debilitating or all-encompassing to warrant therapy. This is not the case. While people who experience severe, prolonged grief—particularly those who are considering self-harm or engaging in unhealthy substance use—are especially likely to benefit from therapy, so too are people whose grief is less intense but still interfering with well-being or daily functioning. In practice, almost anyone struggling to process a loss could benefit from grief counseling.
Can grief be managed without therapy?
Oftentimes, yes. Grief is a near-universal part of being human, and many find that their grief, while profound, does not stop them from participating in day-to-day life and steadily eases over time without outside help. For others, however, the harsh pain of early grief persists for months or years or leaves them unable to function. This group is especially likely to benefit from seeing a therapist, who can guide them through their grief and help them reconnect with the world.
What happens if grief is left untreated?
Because grief does not in itself necessitate therapy, untreated grief will often resolve on its own. However, for some people—particularly those who would qualify for a diagnosis of prolonged grief disorder—untreated grief can be a source of seemingly endless pain or lead them to withdraw from the world. In such cases, treatment can be indispensable, as it can help an individual adapt to the loss and start living again.
