I know how hard it is carrying the heaviness of the emotional load, lying in bed night after night replaying conversations , questioning yourself , anxiety filling your chest , feeling a stuck-ness . You feel stuck in negative thoughts and your inner voice just isn't very kind to you , these thoughts stop you from doing things and enjoying life the way YOU really want to. Maybe you find yourself questioning and doubting yourself , feeling guilty for saying No or feeling resentful for always saying yes. You feel like a fragile version of yourself , lost , anxious , disconnected and shutting down emotionally. Help is at hand -

I utilise and blend techniques from Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance & Commitment Therapy ( ACT), Transactional Analysis (TA), Solution Focused Therapy (SFT), Emotional Freedom Technique (tapping) & REWIND trauma therapy.
Hi, I’m Cat, an experienced, neuro-affirming, integrative Counsellor (MBACP/MNCPS Acc.), LI-CBT Psychotherapist and Attachment Specialist who’s worked therapeutically with children (6+), teens and adults for over 20 years in several professional roles, including Family Support, Youth Justice, Public Health, Prisons, CAMHS contracts and NHS Talking Therapies. When working in NHS Talking Therapies, I witnessed the frustrations of clients who wanted more connection and depth in therapy, to feel seen, heard and understood. This fuelled my passion to offer a personalised practice, working at your pace and focusing on what matters to you.

I mainly use Cognitive Behavioural Therapy in my practice alongside ACT and compassion-informed approaches .
If you’re looking for therapy at home because leaving the house is difficult, you may be dealing with anxiety, panic, agoraphobia, intrusive thoughts, OCD, trauma or phobias. These can make daily life feel restricted and exhausting. You might want clearer days and someone with solid mental‑health experience who understands how intense this can be, without jargon or pressure. Therapy needs to be practical, accessible and based on what you can manage right now.

Hi, I'm a HCPC-registered Clinical Psychologist, offering therapy to adults online across the UK and in St Helens, Merseyside. Many of the people I work with feel overwhelmed, emotionally stuck, or exhausted from holding everything together. Some are living with anxiety, trauma, or self-criticism. Others are navigating the emotional impact of physical health conditions, chronic symptoms, or pain. My approach is calm, compassionate, and collaborative. I aim to create a space where you feel safe to talk openly, without pressure or judgement, and where change feels possible rather than overwhelming.

Reaching out can be difficult. Maybe you feel stuck, anxious, unsettled, lost your way, or uncomfortable with whom you have become. The difficulties within our lives can change who we are or how we see the world. It can lead to thoughts or behaviours that take us away from who we are, resulting in a feeling of something not being right, struggling to cope or to make sense of things. When entering therapy, our life experiences enter too, and healing occurs within the processing. We will work together to build trust and explore your emotions and thoughts within a non-judgemental and safe environment, working at your own pace.

You may be successful but your worries and tendency to go over worst case scenarios in your head are so hard to control. Perhaps your anxiety is making it difficult for you to sleep well, relax, causing problems in your relationships, or bringing on panic attacks. You may have been coping by trying to block the worries out or avoid the situations that trigger your anxiety, but this is only making it harder for you to be present in your life and relationships the way you want to be. I'm here to help and let you know that you can learn to live life in the moment and learn to trust in your coping skills again.

Acceptance and Commitment (ACT) Counsellors
How does acceptance and commitment therapy work?
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy encourages a person to listen to their self-talk. A person’s inner dialog can be indicative of how they treat themselves. ACT also encourages self-compassion; this can lead to a better understanding of negative thought patterns and emotional states. This understanding can then lead the individual to needed behavior change.

What are the goals of acceptance and commitment therapy?
The goal of acceptance and commitment is to expand a person’s psychological flexibility, a trait that encourages an individual to live in the present moment and to accept all their thoughts, feelings, and emotions, even ones that are difficult such as sadness and anxiety. In ACT, this acceptance is congruent with the individual’s values and beliefs.

Does acceptance and commitment therapy work for depression?
Acceptance and commitment therapy is effective for depression because it allows the individual to view their discomfort and suffering differently. Depressive feelings about relationship heartaches, for example, are a part of life. A despondent person learns to let go of their struggles and instead view their painful thoughts and feelings with compassion. This will lead the individual toward positive change.

How long are people typically in acceptance and commitment therapy?
A typical acceptance and commitment therapy session is 50 minutes long with one session per week. Treatment for common problems such as anxiety, depression, or relationship difficulties can last between eight weeks to four months. However, more severe cases may require more than one session a week and/or a longer time frame for treatment.
