I see people who have issues with addiction, anger management, general anxiety, loss, stress, depression, work place intimidation and working out who you are!
I work in a psychodynamic way - I help you identify the root of the issue and bring it out into the open. We wonder why we feel a certain way, we work together to find that out!

People come to my practice seeking support to better understand themselves, overcome challenges, and develop practical strategies to improve wellbeing, confidence and day-to-day functioning. Sometimes you can look like you’re coping on the outside, while inside things feel very different. I work with adults who may be feeling overwhelmed, anxious, stuck or simply unsure of where to go next. Whether it’s relationships, self-esteem, grief, stress, trauma or a difficult life change, I offer a warm, safe space to talk openly, make sense of what you’re going through and begin to move forward — without judgement and at your own pace.

I work with parents, adolescents, young people and adults who feel overwhelmed, anxious or stuck in how they are living their life. People often come when things feel like they are building up, or when they notice they are getting caught in patterns of worry, overthinking, perfectionism or emotional overload that are starting to take over how they feel day to day. Together we slow things down, make sense of what is happening, and begin to shift how they respond so life feels more aligned with who they want to be.

Sometimes life can seem overwhelming and we can be dealing with something painful. We all have times when we need emotional support. You do not have to struggle alone. Often it is only when we talk to someone unconnected with our lives that we begin to hear what we are really saying and feeling. I offer a safe, unjudgemental and confidential space for you to work through what is troubling you and will support you as you find new ways forward.

Our past impacts on our present and it can often be confusing and conflicting in our adult responses to current problems. When we cannot make sense of our own thoughts or responses, when our behaviour troubles us or is repetitive. Within the therapeutic process, control is taken back and the symptomatic behaviour in time can be renegotiated and become less powerful. My training is Psychodynamic but with many years of CPD (continuing professional development) I will adapt my style to what will be most helpful to you and what you bring to the sessions. Psychodynamic therapy involves working with the unconscious.

Relationships can be difficult, miscommunication & misattunement of emotions can create patterns of behaviour that can lead to a lack of connectiveness & blocks to intimancy. This can trigger a fight or flight response & the cycle continues. In therapy you can learn to communicate your care seeking & care giving needs in a clear way & change the relationship to a more secure & attuned base. You'll learn the skills to listen to each other & navigate the ruptures & repairs that are part of all relationships. I will work to provide a safe & non biased space for you to resolve them together & decide the best way forward.

More specifically, I aim to enable you to: Face your fears and anxiety about the future, resolve trauma, deal with abusive relationships, deal with the loss of a loved one, explore the impact of childhood events, deal with feelings of loneliness, adjust to a chronic health condition, deal with anger, explore issues relating to race, culture and identity.
How often do you find yourself thinking..... I don't know who I am any more'....'I just want to feel normal again'....'I feel angry all the time'...'I am a born worrier'... Most of the time we think that we feel this way because of events such as stress at work, problems in relationship, a loss (relationship, financial, job) or bereavement. Whatever the reason, over time you may find yourself thinking 'there must be more to life than this'. Counselling provides a confidential, non-judgemental space where I facilitate a process of self-awareness and understanding and where you feel safe to openly share what is affecting you.

Even though relationships are the cornerstone of our lives, they aren't always easy and can sometimes feel like an endless cycle of misunderstanding, blame and resentment. If your relationship leaves you feeling stressed, lonely and emotionally exhausted, then relationship counselling can be helpful. It can give you a safe space where you can explore couple dynamics and build an intentional relationship that is meaningful and rewarding.

Anger Management Counsellors
How long does therapy take for anger management?
Treatment duration depends on the person’s specific challenges and circumstances. There are treatments for anger problems that are shorter and more goal-oriented, like Cognitive behavior therapy (CBT), which can last weeks to months. Others, like Dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) may last between six months and a year, while a more intensive treatment, like psychodynamic therapy, is open-ended, and clients may see their therapist for a year or longer.

How do you know if you need therapy for anger management?
Everyone gets mad from time to time. But when angry outbursts become frequent and cause damage to relationships, whether at home or in the office, it may be a good time to look into therapy. A therapist can assess where a client’s anger may be coming from, suggest strategies for averting angry outbursts, and help a client create a plan to become a calmer version of themselves.

Is there medication for anger management?
Medications do exist that help people mitigate the feeling of anger, but these are reserved for people with anger-related psychiatric disorders, such as intermittent explosive disorder, oppositional defiant disorder, or in some cases borderline personality disorder. In these cases, antidepressant medications may be prescribed to help with the client’s symptoms. In most cases of anger management, however, talk therapy is the recommended treatment, along with lifestyle changes where relevant.

What’s the best way to encourage someone to seek help for anger issues?
It’s helpful to express your concern and love for the person while framing therapy as a tool for improving their life. Offering specific examples of how an individual’s behavior affected either themselves or others should be done with compassion and with empathy. It may be useful to devise a game plan—breaking the process down into parts, such as finding a therapist, making appointments, and looking into insurance coverage.
