While working with a diverse range of people, I have received specialist training for working with students and adults with Autism, ADHD, Asperger's and challenging behaviour.
Having worked as the Mental Health Lead (SEMH and SEND) in a large Secondary school while counselling students, I have extensive knowledge of how issues relating to friendships, peer pressure, exam pressure, sexuality and other problems beyond school, affects students’ ability to learn.

Life can sometimes be difficult. There may be times when we find ourselves experiencing stress, anxiety, panic, or struggling with extremely low moods or bouts of depression. Maybe you find yourself struggling with life's difficulties, often feeling isolated and alone, believing that there isn't anyone you can turn to, including work colleagues, friends or family. Maybe past experience has taught you not to trust anyone with your feelings. Or maybe you find yourself believing that no one truly understands what you are going through.

Life can often be seen that we put the needs of others' before our own, therefore neglecting ourselves and experiencing difficult environments and emotions. I offer time for 'you' to explore your own needs and provide this by short or long term therapy, based on your emotional needs. As an integrative therapist, I invite clients to experience different ways of exploring personal experiences and create positive change to the challenges that are faced. The therapy I offer is a process that helps you restore your natural sense of harmony and balance.

I also have experience and work often with those with diagnoses or traits of ADHD, Autism and other forms of neurodivergence.
I’m Olivia, a Level 7 therapist working with adults and young people. Whether you’re feeling overwhelmed, stuck in unhelpful patterns, or uncertain, I aim to meet you as you are and work at a pace that feels safe for you, creating a space built on collaboration, trust and emotional safety. My approach is integrative and highly individualised, focusing on you as a whole person- your experiences, strengths, challenges and the meaning you make of them- rather than applying a one-size-fits-all model. I encourage you to share what feels supportive, what doesn’t, and what you need from our work together.

Do you feel distant from yourself or your partner ? If you're reading this you've already taken the first brave step in seeking support in whatever is troubling you. I am a integrative counselor, trained in psychodynamic and person centred. I work by looking at what has happened in the past that may be affecting you at present while still being aware of working in the here and now. I have previously worked for theNHS as a pychosexual counselor and have also worked with people with physical disabilities as well as people with learning and social difficulties which I feel has shown me that everyone is different and should be treated

I appreciate that people might be coming to therapy with different preconceptions, goals, past experiences, and/or worries. As starting therapy takes a lot of courage, it is important we go at your pace. As such, our first session together will focus on: Getting to know each other to make sure I am the right fit for you, and exploring the difficulties you would like support with. We might also start to develop your goals and think about the type of therapy best suited to meet these. covering other important aspects such as confidentiality, session length, and timings so we know what to expect from each other.

Are you looking for a therapist who doesn’t feel like a “typical” therapist—someone who really understands what you’re going through? I’m warm, flexible, and non-judgmental, offering a safe, compassionate space for young people and adults. I tailor my approach to each person’s developmental stage and life experience. My work is interactive and person-centred, gently guiding and creative. I integrate arts and games with CBT, adapting sessions to each client’s needs. I help teens and adults explore behaviours and motivations, gently shift perspectives, and feel truly understood at their level.

With over 10 years' experience as counsellor, I am aware that finding your way through the challenges of life can sometimes seem like an impossible task. Often, we won't share our experience with others because we don't want to be a burden or, we are fearful of being judged. As your counsellor I will offer you the time and space for you to reflect on your feelings, as you process what is going on for you. Our relationship will be one where you feel heard, valued and supported on your journey of self-discovery.

When should I seek treatment for ADHD?
You should seek treatment for ADHD if you consistently have difficulty with attention, hyperactivity, or impulsivity that interferes with your daily life. Symptoms of ADHD include the inability to sustain attention during tasks, difficulty organizing tasks and activities, being easily distracted, frequent fidgeting or squirming, and talking or interrupting excessively. If these symptoms interfere with your career, academics, or relationships—for example, consistently failing to complete professional projects on time—you should seek an evaluation for ADHD.

How does treatment for ADHD work?
Effective treatment for ADHD often consists of medication, behavioural therapy, and lifestyle changes. Stimulant medications such as Adderall and Ritalin work by altering levels of neurotransmitters in the brain; higher levels of dopamine and norepinephrine are known to improve attention and focus. Therapy works by helping people with ADHD understand the condition, discuss their areas of difficulty, and develop behavioral strategies to manage their symptoms. In some cases, modifying one’s diet and exercise can also help improve symptoms.

How long does treatment for ADHD take?
It’s tough to give an exact time frame because everyone varies. In terms of medications, stimulants begin to work very soon after you take them, generally within the hour. It may take time to identify the right medication and dosage, but the medication itself is fast-acting. In terms of therapy, it takes time to develop skills and put them into practice, but you will likely see improvements within a few weeks or months.
