I work with individuals navigating life transitions or healing from trauma, including domestic abuse. Many of my clients struggle with anxiety, depression, self-doubt, and boundary-setting, seeking clarity, direction, and emotional healing. I became a therapist because I am passionate about people and improving as well as enhancing mental wellbeing. I understand that life can be a challenge and at times it may be hard to see the light at the end of the tunnel but I want to assure you that you do not have to go through life’s struggles by yourself. I am here for you and I am here with you. With your permission, I would like to come besides you and help you explore and discover events, thoughts, feelings and patterns of behaviour and together support you to make changes.

Dealing with challenges in daily life can be tough. Are you feeling stuck in your life? Has your relationship changed? Or you are no longer happy with your partner or family members? Perhaps, you are dealing with parenting challenges, having a baby and being a parent can bring great joy, but it can also be difficult. It is normal to feel low and not like yourself, and it is okay to struggle to understand your birth experience. Feeling guilty about not meeting your own expectations can also make life feel hard. Or are you feeling lonely because your beliefs do not align with your parents' values?

Hello. My name is Steve and I trained as a person-centred counsellor, although I have an interest in a broad range of therapies, including CBT, Existential and Family Systems Therapy. I believe that therapy is an exploration, where a safe, open and non-judgemental space can help us explore life's meaning, and help us overcome the things that trouble us.

You are not alone. There are many reasons why people seek counselling such as anxiety, bereavement or relationships and it can be a combination of things that makes someone feel overwhelmed. I work with all age groups, genders and cultures; with individuals, couples and families. Talking can be difficult for anyone so I also offer creative and animal assisted therapies to enable clients to express their feelings and experiences in a less challenging way. I am experienced in different life issues: If you are Deaf I can sign BSL or you might be on the Autistic Spectrum. If appropriate I can also work with clients in a home setting.

Or do you just have a sense something is wrong but struggle to open up or express how you feel to your partner, family or friends? My background in working for organisations across London & Kent gave me a particular understanding of the emotional challenges that many of us face including, depression, anxiety, stress, low self-esteem, bereavement, relationship & family issues. I believe that evidence based psychological therapies such as cognitive behaviour therapy (CBT) along with an integrative counselling approach allows flexibility in dealing with each individual’s needs. This, combined with a safe & non-judgemental therapeutic relationship is key for the process of change & recovery.

In psychotherapy there is an opportunity to get to know yourself in depth and discover new ways of living your life. Often we have repetitive patterns and ways of thinking that can for instance cause suffering, frustration, anxiety and sadness in our life. Despite our best efforts to decide to behave and relate differently, we drift back to our old ways of being and behaving. In psychotherapy we will work at getting to know your unconscious inner life. A lot of feelings and thoughts we have are not conscious and psychotherapy gives you the opportunity to reflect and try out new ways when you feel change is needed.
